On the night of November 12, 2016, 26-year-old Joey Comunale left Stamford, Connecticut, for a night out in Manhattan. The Hofstra graduate hit a club in the Meatpacking District with a friend, then accepted an invitation to an afterparty at a luxury apartment on the Upper East Side. Apartment 4C belonged to James Rackover. Also there were Lawrence “Larry” Dilione, Max Gemma, and a small group of women they’d met that night. There was drinking. There was cocaine. By early morning the women were gone. Joey never walked out of that building again.
