Crime Wire Weekly 10/16/26 | Resort Tragedy, Elder Abuse and Death Row’s Last Words
We start with a Baton Rouge man facing charges after his 92-year-old father was found beaten to death inside the family home—despite a protective order already in place from a prior assault. Then we head to the Poconos, where a mother has been charged in the double homicide of her husband and 3-year-old son inside a Great Wolf Lodge hotel room. Authorities say she called for help afterward, telling responders she wanted to be with them. From there, the stories only get stranger. A Brazilian man is planning to remarry the wife who severed his penis after she learned he cheated on her—and he’s using compensation money from the incident to fund the wedding and a prosthesis.
In Florida, an ICU nurse was arrested after a patient’s family member watched her siphon fentanyl from an IV bag she wasn’t even assigned to. In our Lustful Lawbreakers segment, a FaceTime call that started one way ends in charges and exposure. We dig into the newly released 911 recordings from Christa Pike’s botched execution attempt in Tennessee, which reveal delays, code confusion, and a prison call initially dismissed as false. Actress Selma Blair is in the news after an alleged in-flight meltdown that left flight attendants injured and led to assault charges—her team points to a medical emergency and missed medication.
We also cover the final moments of Florida inmate James “Chicken-Head” Robertson, executed after he killed his cellmate specifically to land on death row. When asked for last words, he kept it short. In International Indiscretions, German police seize a humanoid robot after it allegedly groped a teenage girl outside a fast-food restaurant while the incident was livestreamed. And a Florida woman’s Instagram beef escalates into a nightclub fight involving a snatched necklace and a bite.
Overtime brings the Goliath roller coaster tragedy at Six Flags Over Georgia, where a beloved local teacher was ejected from the ride and fell to his death; an 84-year-old Louisiana man’s explosive arrest after investigators say he was manufacturing and selling homemade devices near a school (Elderly Outlaws); a jet ski sexual assault case; and the San Diego chef who was quietly running a kitchen for years under an alias before U.S. Marshals caught him as a long-time Iowa fugitive wanted in a kidnapping and shooting.

0:16 Welcome back to CrimeWire Weekly, a quick look at the topics for today. A man is being charged in the beating death of his 92-year-old father right here in the Baton Rouge area. The Great Wolf Lodge has been the site of a tragedy after a mother is charged in a double homicide. A man is to remarry his wife who severed his penis. You know, there are just some things I wouldn't think are smart. But I guess different strokes, different folks. All right. Facebook sex went really bad on lustful lawbreakers today. We're going to tell you all about that. Krista Pike's 9-1-1 recordings have been released, and they paint another story to the Krista Pike failed execution. Selma Blair has had a fit on a flight. And I mean a fit.
1:11 Hissy fit. I think it might even fit here. Pretty wild stuff. We're going to talk about all that. There's been another execution that you may not have heard of, but it involves a guy named Chickenhead. And we have his last words before he was executed in Florida. The Goliath roller coaster, massive roller coaster here in the United States. I think it might be the largest one. Sadly, someone has died in several other Others were injured after something goes wrong on that roller coaster. We'll bring you that story. Welcome to Crime Wire Weekly. I am Jim Chapman. And I'm Kelly Jennings. How's your day going thus far, Kelly? It's been an absolute busy one. You know, it's wild when you walk in to record and Jim says, Kelly, did you brush your hair today?
1:55 I never said that. That was off recording, Kelly. You don't have to say that on the record. It's funny, though, because that's what kind of day I've had. But you look mighty dapper. I look like my hair's been brushed. Yes. No, but I was going to say you look dapper. You've got your pink on and your breast cancer awareness. Yeah, that's right. And you always are in the spirit of not only a holiday, but whenever it's a good thing to support. Yeah, it is the month of October. Of course, that is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So all month, I try to wear something pink to support breast cancer awareness and If you want to subscribe to the Patreon, you can see what I'm wearing. That's right. Look, my youngest child told me yesterday that she felt like she did a good thing because they told him about Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And my child decided to say, that's right. So pet your pumpkins. I said, honey, you don't pet your pumpkins, you. you get your pumpkins checked, not pet them.
2:47 So let's rewind that. Yeah, yeah. All right, let's get into it. We're going to start out in Baton Rouge, and a man who was wanted by officers following the beating death of his 92-year-old father, who had a protective order against him, was detained at the end of a police chase this past Tuesday. Larry Salisbury was found beaten to death inside his home on Monday night, this according to BRPD, His injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma. Now, his son Bruce was detained in connection with that beating following a pursuit that ended around Greenville Springs Road and Airline Highway this past Tuesday morning. Footage from the scene showed Bruce Salisbury's car flipped on its side along the road. Sources say he was taken to the hospital following the crash. Now, court documents showed that Larry Salisbury had a protective order in place against his son following a July beating that police said left the man with two black eyes and dried blood in his ears. And that means you got the shit hit out of you in the eyes for that to happen. That is horrible. He was arrested for domestic abuse battery and pleaded guilty to the charge in September.
4:04 Judge John Johnson sentenced him to six months in EBR parish prison. All of that suspended. and he was placed on probation. Bruce Salisbury was living with his father before this incident. Family says Larry Salisbury had asked for the protective order to be rescinded, and Bruce moved back into the home. Bruce will be charged with murder in his father's death. Now, Bruce's mother, who is Larry's ex-wife, Cheryl Snelling, said she warned people about her son. Quote, he's going to kill you. I kept saying that. He's going to kill you, but nobody listened to me in the judicial system. She said Salisbury's death would have been preventable if the legal system held him accountable for prior acts. So what does she mean by that?
4:51 And that's his own mother saying this. That's correct. Yeah. But what does she mean by prior acts? Well, according to EBR Parish Records, Salisbury was arrested in 2023 when he faced charges of simple battery and violating a protective order. Arrest documents say Salisbury's wife at the time called police when he broke into their home three hours after he had been served divorce papers and a protective order. She told officers she changed the locks on the home, but he broke into the house and threatened to kill her. She said she was addicted. was addicted to opioids and recently relapsed. Documents showed he was released on a $ 6, 000 bond set by Judge Brad Myers two days after his arrest.
5:33 The DA's office said Salisbury was required to sign up for GPS monitoring, but he never did. The following day, he was arrested again for violating a protective order. He reportedly went to a home around 6.30 a.m., banged on the door, and yelled to be let inside. He was in custody for one day, then released on a $ 2, 500 bond. Court records show Salisbury was formally charged with home invasion and violation of a protective order. That was in May of 2023. The DA's office asked the judge to set a stricter bond for Salisbury and an increase to $ 25, 000 with conditions that he must stay home, abide by a curfew, sign up for an ankle monitor, and a graded drug and alcohol screens twice daily. Court records showed his bond was paid by, guess who, his father, Larry Salisbury. That was my question, yeah. That was on May 30th, 2024. Now, his trial was set for January of 2024. but Bruce Salisbury took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to violating a protective order and a lesser charge of entry after being forbidden. He was sentenced to six months in prison for each charge. All of that suspended, put on supervised probation for one year, and as part of his sentence, Judge Myers required Salisbury to attend a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting participate in sober living. In March of 2024, Salisbury is arrested for a third time for violating a protective order.
7:05 Court minutes show Salisbury admitted to driving to the victim's house during a probation review. He was released and put back on probation. A letter from his officer, his P.O., submitted in December of 2024, said that he failed a drug test for methamphetamine and amphetamine in November, and he was accused of violating the protective order for the fourth time. Quote, he is more of a danger to himself and his victim now than he ever was in the past, the letter read. On January 7th, 2025, Salisbury was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violation of protective order and two bench warrants for skipping court dates. During a probation revocation, revocation, revocation, hearing in January of 2025, Judge Myers decided to extend his probation and treatment an additional six months.
7:57 What is happening here? That's crazy. Gets worse. He was placed in EBR parish prison custody by the end of the month, and Myers placed a hold on him so he wouldn't be released until February 20th when he was transferred to an addiction recovery center. Bond documents say Larry Salisbury then bonded his son out for $ 5, 000 on February 21st and the charge was later dismissed. Court records show Salisbury sent an email to his probation officer in August saying he was innocent and quote, nobody can put blame on me any longer and everyone knows this. Then in October of 2025, Salisbury was arrested for three additional charges of violating protective orders. Judge Don Johnson placed a hold on his bond until a sanity commission could be performed. Salisbury was formally charged with 34 counts of violation of a protective order in December of 2025, and court minutes show sanity hearings lasted until April 14, 2026, when two of the three doctors testified he was competent to proceed with his defense. According to Hiller Moore, the state urged the judge to send him to mental hospital instead of releasing him, but the judge agreed with the two doctors and he was arraigned two weeks later. Salisbury bonded out on June 25th, 2026 for $ 34, 000, $ 1, 000 for each count. The bond was processed through the office, bondsman's office, but Larry Salisbury's name was present on the paperwork. In September,
9:31 Bruce Salisbury took a plea deal 33 counts of violating a protective order were dismissed, and Salisbury pleaded guilty to one count of second offense violating a protective order. For that charge, he was sentenced to two years in prison, which were suspended, placed on two years of probation. A letter from the probation officer filed Tuesday morning shortly before the crash said he never arrived, meaning Salisbury, at a probation and parole office, and they had been unable to locate him. And he's smiling in this mugshot, which is just real cute, buddy. Really cute. But here's the deal. Whatever played out in court, I wasn't there, okay? So I don't have all the information of what could have possibly been explained away here. But at some point, At some point, how many protective, why even have a protective order?
10:22 Why even go through the process? Why were they even approved? when they were applied for, if he was not a valid threat to anybody. And you can't just shrug your shoulders now and go, well, you know, his dad should have known better. No, your dad loved you. Your dad loved you to his detriment. And I don't give a shit if you're addicted to drugs. I don't care what's going on here. The judges, that is their job at that point, to intervene where this guy is not in control of his life and say, sorry, but you don't. Need to be out. You don't need to be out. You have zero impulse control and you have zero regard for what's been taught. He didn't do anything he was supposed to do. Nothing.
11:03 A 27-year-old mother has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and their three-year-old son were found dead inside a guest room at Great Wolf Lodge at Pocono Mountains. According to authorities, Metallica Rose Harrison of Tawanda, Pennsylvania, is accused of killing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son, who was identified in court documents only by the initials T.H. on Monday, October the 12th at the popular Family Resort in Monroe County. Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso described the case as a violent domestic tragedy and said there is no threat to the public. According to the criminal complaint, the police were dispatched to the resort around 3.13 p.m. after Harrison called 911. She reportedly told dispatchers she needed help dying and was unable to find the vein in her neck and that her husband, quote, or quote, her husband and son are already gone in the bed, end quote. Officers found her with bleeding cuts to her left wrist and superficial punctures to her neck.
12:04 She allegedly told responding officers that she wanted to be with her husband and son. Inside room 2030, investigators found Charles Harrison and their son deceased on separate mattresses on the floor. Court documents state Charles suffered several stab wounds to the chest while the child appeared to have a single stab wound to the chest and both were pronounced dead at the scene. Two knives with teal green handles. a large butcher knife, and then a smaller one, were recovered from the bathroom. Resort staff confirmed the knives did not belong to Great Wolf Lodge. Investigators also found several medication bottles and containers that appeared to hold blood. Authorities recovered roughly. 80 to 90 pieces of evidence from the room. And while being transported to the hospital, Harrison allegedly made several statements to emergency personnel, including, I fucked up. and expressing frustration that her suicide attempt had not succeeded. She reportedly said that she had taken blood-thinning medication and questioned why her blood was clotting. She also told responders, When investigators later attempted to interview her at the hospital, she declined to answer questions, telling them that she was suicidal.
13:08 Not stupid. Wow. I'd say you're pretty freaking stupid. Yeah. No defensive wounds or bruises were observed on her beyond the injuries to her wrist and her neck. The family had been staying at the resort for several weeks, which sounds expensive. They checked in on September 21st and extended their reservation on October 5th with a planned checkout on October the 13th. Surveillance footage showed the family last entering their room around 6.53 p.m. on Sunday, October the 11th.
13:51 Later that evening, Harrison was seen leaving the room briefly to use a microwave in a vending area before returning. Authorities have not yet determined a motive. The DA called the question of motive one of the most perplexing aspects of the case and said the investigation remains ongoing. Autopsies of both of the victims were scheduled for later in the week, and as of October 13, Harrison remained hospitalized and has not yet been arraigned. In a statement, Great Wolf Resorts said it was deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident and and described it as an isolated family incident. The company said it is fully cooperating with law enforcement, has restricted access to a small area of the property while the investigation continues, and has offered guests the option to postpone their visits without change fees.
14:33 And the resort does remain open. Horrible, tragic, and I love it. I love it that she said you know, I'm not stupid. I'm suicidal. I love that because you are in fact stupid because you already screwed up your insanity defense. Right there. Mouthed off in front of everybody that, hey, I took some blood thinners and so I don't know why my blood would be clotting. Well, guess what you also just did? You admitted to premeditation. No, no shit. And with the knives coming. Peace out, insanity, please. Right. You ain't getting that because you're stupid. You are stupid.
15:15 Anybody that takes, uh, that type of medicine planted in advance. I don't know what happened. This is just horrific. Um, and it seems like it's becoming more and more common and I have no idea why that is, but, uh, Congratulations for screwing your insanity play. I was happy to see that. Yeah, and your whole life. And here's the other thing. You brought the knives, so that tells you right there that you had pre-planned something, but also the fact that afterwards... you said, I'm suicidal, not stupid, tells you that you were not in the thralls of some type of psychosis or anything like that, that you might try to throw out there because it shows logic. And so while I don't have, you know, a lot of the details, all we have is what is right here. I can tell you this. It sounds like she was suicidal.
16:02 I'll give her that. And that she's probably going to try. To go along those same lines as that damn Lindsay Clancy and And they go to have this vacation, end out, you know, ended on good times. And then she wanted to die and she wanted her family to go with her and she didn't want to leave them behind. And so in her in her mind, we're all going to go. Let's go to Brazil. And in a shocking turn in a case that shocked Brazil in late 2023. Gilberto Oliveira plans to remarry Diane Faraz, the woman who cut off his penis and flushed it down a toilet after discovering he had an affair. He intends to fund the wedding in part with roughly $ 3, 700 in hospital compensation for leaked photos of his injuries.
16:50 Really? I need to look that up. I had no desire to see that. The attack occurred on December 22nd, 2023 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Firas, a cook, then 34, learned that Oliveira, then 39, had been involved with her 15-year-old niece. And get this, y'all. In Brazil, the age of consent is 14. So authorities couldn't treat this as any kind of crime at all. Oliveira described the relationship as consensual and later expressed regret, calling the affair his major mistake in that relationship. According to the account of the night, Faraz lured Oliveira into sex, restrained his hands with a pair of her panties, and then used a razor to sever his penis. She discarded the organ in the toilet and flushed it, eliminating any chance of reattachment. and threw his car keys out of a window to hinder help. She then turned herself in to police and confessed. Oliveira managed to reach a nearby emergency unit for initial treatment before surgeries would be scheduled. Faraz was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for the assault. She served time and was released early on parole in November of 2025. Now, the reconciliation actually started while she was still incarcerated. It started around March of 2024. The couple exchanged letters in which Oliver admitted
18:22 to the affair, forgave and his wife, his soon to be wife, forgave him for that and said the attack occurred in the heat of the moment. That's what she said. He visited her, supported her defense costs. and publicly stated he still loved her and wanted to rebuild the relationship. Oliveira recently won moral damage judgments against the hospital after they shared pictures of his severed penis on WhatsApp and X, and that caused further humiliation, according to him. He said he'll use the compensation toward a second wedding and a down payment on a penile prosthesis. He's also pursuing reconstructive options through Brazil's public health system. Urologists have noted that such procedures are uncommon in the country, thankfully, and carry relatively high risk regarding successful functional outcomes. So you may can get it attached, but will it work again? Meh, not all the time. So they do say that it's not considered a particularly dangerous surgery all around. And so this couple, even though she cut off his wee wee, they're going to get married again. They in love again. Yeah.
19:43 I'm sorry. You can just, I'd have to love you from afar. I'm drawing the line. I'm drawing the line. You're cutting off. my, my, my. Well, you don't have one. Well, I mean, I'm trying to put myself in his shoes. I mean. Then you flush it. But trust me, that's a major violation of trust. How can you ever go to bed again next to this woman? I. You do one thing to make her. You made it. Look, let me tell you something. When you're married, you don't even know when you've made him mad half the time. So he's going to go to bed thinking everything's cool. And I mean, I wouldn't even have knives in the house anymore. Nothing sharp. That's crazy. Not even plates. Use paper plates, sir. Because that dude's in love, I guess.
20:23 I wouldn't want anything that could be broken or cut me. You're not. That's crazy. It was out of a fit of passion. Okay, well, what happens next time you look at somebody twice? He was screwing her niece, but that don't give you the right to cut his penis off. Jesus. No, you go move on. And then if you do, probably don't marry her again, dude. I got to question his common sense. She.... That's what must be one of those crazy ones that's so good in other areas of her life that he's willing to risk it all. He's in love. Shit, he's in something. He's in trouble is what he is. He just doesn't know it yet. A 54-year-old intensive care unit nurse at Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital has been charged with three felonies after a patient's family member reported watching her withdraw fentanyl from a patient's IV and pocket the syringe. And this is all documented with the police. Leslie Ann Pope of Jupiter was arrested October the 8th, and this was with assistance of the Palm Beach Marshals Task Force. She faces charges of grand theft of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and released on October the 10th after posting a $ 150, 000 bond, which I just have to say real quick is incredibly lower than the guy with all the protective orders that was hurting people. I mean, the bonds just are wild here.
21:51 The incidents allegedly occurred on June 24th and 25th. A family member sitting with the critically ill ICU patient described by police as the patient's significant other and someone with prior experience working in a medical environment reported seeing Pope enter the room, use a syringe to draw fluid from the patient's fentanyl IV bag, place the syringe in her pocket and leave. Hospital records indicated Pope was not assigned to even care for that patient. The following evening, Pope returned to the room and again approached the IV equipment. The family member intervened. After the first encounter, the family had requested that a protective cap be placed on the IV bag. Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives later showed Pope manipulating protective caps on the infusion equipment. Investigators said they could not confirm that additional medication was removed during the second visit. Pope told investigators she was responding to an IV alarm and what she described as an upstream occlusion.
22:44 The family member disputed that account, telling police no alarm was sounding. The police public information officer, Brittany McNally, noted that Pope's presence in the room was itself questionable, given her lack of assignment to the patient. The hospital conducted an internal investigation and notified the Florida Department of Health, which turned in this nurse and notified the police. Detectives began their investigation in early August. The inquiry involved a joint effort with the Drug Enforcement Administration and produced a 15-page arrest affidavit that incorporated hospital surveillance video, staff witness statements, medical charts, and electronic medication dispensing records. Police said Pope had worked at Tradition Hospital for roughly six months and had no known prior reprimands or concerns during that time.
23:31 Cleveland Clinic confirmed that she no longer works for the hospital system, too. In a statement, the organization said, we take these allegations very seriously. The individual no longer works with us, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement. Because this is an active investigation, we are unable to comment further at this time. Pope has denied the allegations. Investigators have not established what she allegedly intended to do with the fentanyl, and authorities have declined to speculate whether the medication was for personal use or other purposes. It remains unclear whether the critically ill patient or any other patients were harmed. By the alleged diversion. Yeah. Wow. You're bad off if you're. That's crazy, man. And shout out to the family on that one for paying attention and really speaking up on it.
24:18 Because a lot of people, I would imagine, you know, with hospitals, you got nurses going in and out and they're different depending on what shifts you're on. And you might have three or four different nurses taking care of one person. because they're all working different shifts. And so shout out to the family for kind of following up on that. Let's go into lustful lawbreakers. Oh, good one.
25:01 All right, and today we are going to Maryland via Pennsylvania. So this dude is actually from Maryland, but the incident occurred in Pennsylvania. And this man assaulted his wife after she FaceTimed him while having sex with another man inside a car parked outside of Best Western Hotel in Pennsylvania. Talk about butt dog. Probably not what you want to do when you're having sex with another man. Or maybe she did, because upon receiving the video calls, William Atkinson, who is 34, asked a friend to drive into the parking lot so they could confront the victim and her male companion. The duo, Atkinson told police, were egging him on during the FaceTime calls.
25:47 Holy cow, man, I bet he was pissed. When he arrived at the parking lot and basically found these two, he struck the other man, and then this unknown male fled the scene. He got the hell out of there. He knew nothing good could come out of this now. According to the probable cause affidavit that answers a few of the obvious questions raised by the incident, Atkinson then punched and kicked his 32-year-old spouse. Now, the beating left the woman, who was his wife of three years, bruised and bleeding heavily from the face. So that's the non-funny part of this. That's not the way he wanted to handle it. Now, while Atkinson claims to have hit the victim only... with an open hand, a witness like that makes a difference. I didn't punch her, I slapped her.
26:33 I just slapped her around, Your Honor. Well, you slapped her to the point her face started bleeding, dude, you idiot. So he, anyway, he says he hit her with an open hand. A witness did reportedly see him actively kicking her in the face. Police seized Atkinson's shoes, one of which was covered in blood. So maybe that's the truth. Yeah. Police did not obtain a statement from the victim, who was extremely drunk and uncooperative with officers. The 911 caller who reported the assault also said they heard a gunshot. They had no witness that saw or heard a gunshot, actually saw a gun. While a pistol was found in the van that Atkinson traveled in, no magazines or rounds were found in the 9mm firearm. A knife and a stun gun were also found at the scene that belonged to his spouse. Now, Atkinson was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. And before you feel too bad about the victim, you should feel bad because nobody needs to be hitting on anybody, much less a man on a woman.
27:36 That makes sense. Me, absolutely sick. In 2016, the victim in this case was arrested for attempted murder after an argument with her boyfriend ended in gunfire. So, you know, this chick don't play either, right? The man was not hit when she fired a single shot inside the residence in Maryland last And the woman subsequently pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and was sentenced to two years of probation. This probation shit. I know. It's unclear whether Atkinson was the woman's boyfriend at the time. I would say not. You don't know. The other guy had his penis cut off and didn't have enough. Yeah, that's true. I mean, we never know.
28:16 That's true. You know, part of me... No one's ever going to say a man should hit a woman, okay? Get it out of the way. Got it. But part of me is like youâ Or. A woman should hit a man. Right. Nobody should be hitting anybody. Right. But I mean in this case right here. Yeah. But you called. You egged him on. You pissed him off beyond allâ That's crazy. And then he shows up and then acts on it. And part of me is kind of like, well, while I know that's not what you're supposed to do, in a sense, I can't really blame him for being mad. I mean, and for flashing out. I think everybody understands that. But here's what I want to know. The dude, the dude that hauled ass. Did he run naked? Nobody knows who this guy is. Well, my question is, when you're getting it on with a chick, And then she pulls out her phone and says, hang on, let's call my husband at FaceTime, and I'm going to show him what you're doing, and let's egg him on. That's going to be when I'm going to be like, I don't think that's going to be a good idea. I don't want to play this game anymore.
29:15 Or did they butt dial, and then once it happened, she's like. No, they were egging him on. No, but once he answered. No, I think it was intentional. You think so? Yeah. I don't know why, but in my mind. I told you I'd find someone who would have sex with me. She's probably telling him something like that. You ain't shit. I don't know why, but in my mind, I imagine me sitting in like a Chili's eating chips and salsons. You've seen a naked guy go running by and then this dude. Just like waylaying. I mean, and what about the guy that agreed to drive him there? Your buddy calls you and says, hey, will you drive me over? My wife's with this other guy. I'd say, hell yeah. Let's go. Let's go. Regulators, let's mount up. Was the woman egging him on or was the guy who was driving him egging him on?
29:56 It said her and the guy she was screwing him, were egging him on. Well. I would suggest y'all divorce. This is just my non-official legal advice. Yeah, it's probably toxic. Sounds like a toxic relationship. She's willing to shoot her at her ex. Maybe y'all ought to let. This one go. Yeah, he may want to get out of town now. All right. Let's go to Nashville. This one's all over the place, so you know we're going to talk about it. But when Tennessee tried and failed to execute Krista Pike by lethal injection last month, the next problem was getting her emergency medical help. Newly released 911 recordings show the precious minutes were lost as prison officials and first responders tried to figure out whether a call from inside the execution chamber was real. The caller, whose name and title were redacted, reported that they had tried to execute someone and she was still alive, unconscious and not breathing normally, and that they needed an ambulance. When the dispatcher asked for the verification code used to confirm legitimate calls from the prison, The caller didn't have one, and the missing code set off a chain of doubt. By 9.03, a dispatcher said supervisors had been told it was a false call and that no medical assistance was needed at Riverbend.
31:05 Around 9.07, the prison's central control told responders they would have been the ones to make such a call and that they had not. At the same time, someone outside the gates was insisting the emergency was real and demanding entry, identifying themselves as a state official. One of Pike's attorneys, Kelly Gleason, also called around 9.08 p.m. to report that her client had finished the protocol stages and was still alive and breathing and needed immediate life-saving care. So we have a medical call for service at the Riverbend prison saying that they carried out the execution, the subject didn't pass away, and they need an ambulance because she's not breathing normally. We are trying to find out if that is an actual thing that is happening and we need to send an ambulance. and or if you need police assistance, or if this is someone that is just basically prank calling or, like, swatting us.
31:54 We have been informed that it is a false call. There is no medical assistance needed at Riverbend Prison. We got a call about a failed execution at you guys' facility, and. We just call in to verify. Who called you? Or is it, like, a sergeant that I could speak with? Or a supervisor? Who called you, do you know? No, we don't exactly know. I'm being told that nobody from our facility called you, so there's not really anything to speak of at the moment.
32:34 What's going on is my client, Christabel Pike, is undergoing a state execution. She has completed the stages of the protocol. And lastly, we need from the attorney who's present. She is still alive and breathing and needs immediate life-saving care. She's received two doses, at least two doses, of pentobarbital through IVs. The central control just called us and advised that it is actually real, so we're going to have FDN. Oh, my God. All right, so it wasn't until about 9.11 p.m., roughly half an hour after the first call, that prison officials confirmed the emergency was legitimate and responders were cleared through the gates. An Associated Press reporter saw an ambulance and fire trucks pull up to the building on the prison campus a few minutes later as medics prepared to transport Pike, One asked dispatch to make sure the prison knew where they were taking her, citing all the earlier confusion. Pike was hospitalized and put on a ventilator for several days.
33:28 Her lawyers said at one point they did not expect her to survive. She later regained consciousness, began speaking in a limited way, and. Was able to walk with assistance. By the weekend, she had been discharged and returned to the women's prison where she had spent decades. Neither the Tennessee Department of Corrections nor her legal team immediately commented on the recordings. Governor Bill Lee has paused further execution attempts while a review looks into what went wrong. The state has not publicly explained the failure. Possibilities raised by medical experts and Pike's attorneys include problems with how the drug was delivered, such as IV lines that may have caused into pool and tissue instead of reaching the bloodstream, or issues tied to a blood disorder her lawyers had warned about beforehand that could cause clotting at injection sites.
34:13 This was the second problematic lethal injection attempt in Tennessee in 2026, and it's still unclear whether the state will try to execute Pike again. Couple things on that. It is the second problematic, but the other person, they just couldn't find a vein. Right. They didn't actually... She is the only person that I'm aware of that has lived through an actual... protocol being administered. All of that being said, this is a freaking mess for the state of Tennessee that gets worse by the day. Now you've got a 911 recording where the actual prison is denying that what happened happened. And that's a major issue. Oh, no, no, we don't have any problem over here. Yeah, you got a problem. That chick's still alive and she ain't supposed to be. And I don't blame them for following up from the aspect of the dispatchers, because who's going to believe that was a real call and you weren't getting swatted, just like you heard on the recording.
35:14 Yeah, so. Obviously, if you don't know the code, what that's telling me is that you were not the person who should have been making that phone call. So or you would have known the. Code because they say they're a state official. But but so maybe a state official that was there to observe it. But that doesn't necessarily mean that you were part of the process insofar as. what the policy procedure and protocol is. Plus there was no protocol, right? After you give them both of the doses. And so I think it completely reasonable that the dispatchers asked for the code. Didn't get the code. Right. I think it completely reasonable that the supervisor said disregard because that's why the code is there. But I think what the breakdown here is actually that if they called into the prison and they got control center, uh, which is who would have may have answered that phone call if control center was not aware of what was going on back on death row then they of course would have been the ones to say no we haven't called because they hadn't called what was happening back in death row wasn't being relayed to upfront yet because I think they didn't know what was going on. And that's probably what that breakdown is. So all of these people that were not in a position, what it sounds like to me, again, I wasn't there, but what it sounds like to me is that people who were not in a position to be the ones that should have called were making the phone calls, did not have the procedures and safeguards necessary couldn't pass that, the things that were in place. And then it just became a cluster of who was supposed to be calling, why are they calling, and then not
36:46 being able to get in touch with what was happening in the death chamber because they didn't know what to do. Right. All right. Let's go to New York City. And Selma Blair has made the news. Kelly, you familiar with Selma Boyd? I am. I became a fan back whenever Cruel Intentions was released. That was one of her major movies. Well, she was arrested and taken to the hospital after an alleged altercation with flight crew members aboard a Delta Airlines flight from L.A. to New York City. This was on this past Sunday. Two flight attendants reported injuries, one of whom was hospitalized, and the FBI is investigating. Now, Port Authority police responded around 11 p.m. to a report of a physically abusive passenger on a Delta flight as that flight was parked at the gate when it arrived from LAX. Blair, who is 54, was identified as the passenger. She was taken into custody and transported for medical evaluation. A representative for the actress said she had experienced a medical emergency that led to the conduct. and that she received immediate attention upon landing and was stable as of Monday. I love how she totally victimized her there.
38:02 Right. Doesn't mention anything about the two people that she assaulted inside of the plane. Right, because they're not the famous ones, right? Yeah, like, she's okay, y'all. Don't worry about it. That's crazy. Reports in law enforcement sources indicate Blair allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another during the flight. Dispatch audio, which I'm going to play for you in just a minute. You'll hear exactly what was going on on that flight. The guy who called that in did a great job of describing it. Blair was charged with two counts of second degree assault related to the officer and the nurse that were on the plane. She pleaded not guilty and was released on a $ 20, 000 bail. And incidentally, as it relates to a officer that she hurt, she actually kicked the Port Authority officer repeatedly while on the stretcher. So he wasn't related to the flight itself. Some serious shit here.
39:02 She totally flipped out. Her attorney told the court she aborted after extensive hours on set and fell and hit her head on the plane and missed her medication. She may also face federal charges stemming from the incident. The FBI confirmed it is investigating. And I want you to listen to the 911 call, the dispatch audio rather, from the individual on the plane, one of the individuals on the plane, to police. Listen to this. We'd like to have some medical personnel at the gates for a couple of the FAs involved in the passenger incident. They just need to get a couple things looked at. Okay, I will pass that along. Just get an estimated station count for me, please.
39:46 How many ambulances will need? No ambulances, just some medical personnel available for two flight attendants at the gate should be fine for that. I know you're busy, but just had a couple of questions for you for paperwork purposes. The passenger, the abusive passenger, did that result in the two flight attendants that are requested paramedics? From the info I've got, it sounds like there were two Yeah, one flight attendant and one passenger that sustained some minor injuries. A bloody nose as well as some bite marks as well, so I don't think we need an ambulance or anything like that, but we just need to get some medical personnel at the gate to look at their injuries.
40:27 Delta 938 Heavy, we do have paramedics approaching the gate right now and law enforcement already at the gate. And then one additional add-on, it sounds like the disruptive passenger also bashed her head on the bulkhead or something like that. So we'll obviously have to get her potentially checked out as well as involved with law enforcement. Understood. I'll pass that along to PAPD. Okay. Thank you. So there you have that in Blair. She's known for her roles in Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, and Hellboy. And she has publicly disclosed that she's had MS since 2018 and has spoken about her health journey, including a period of remission She was traveling with her service dog, Scout, at this time. And so there you have that. Some are blaring some trouble.
41:20 Again, I'm not a medical person, but I just have a curiosity. Because, you know, I had an aunt. Who had MS, which is what her released medical condition is that, you know, there's been, she's done documentaries and stuff on that. And I'm just curious. I know they say there's neurological medication that she's taken, but I mean, what, I mean, I know there's like steroids and all of that involved and everything, but like what could one missed dose of MS medication cause that would make you flip out and bite people and act in such a manner? That's just a very strange... I don't know, it just seems like a very strange side effect that you would try to just blame on one missed dose of medication.
42:06 Something happened. Yeah. I mean, there's something went crazy with her. She got mad. To kick the police officers and start fighting people on a plane. Might have been in a, you know, when people are totally exhausted too, they lose their mind. Like someone that hasn't slept in a few days, I know with these movies and things like that, Sometimes you're on the set for 72 hours straight. You don't get a whole lot of sleep. And maybe that coupled with her missing her medicine just screwed her whole judgment up. I don't know. I'm just spitballing. It doesn't seem like it would be normal behavior for anyone. Something happened. Yeah, something crazy. I'd be interested to see. But you know what's going to end up happening. This is going to go away. It's going to be pled down. And there'll be some lawsuits and then.
42:54 The civil lawsuits are going to be what get her. It won't be anything criminal. I mean, it's really just simple battery charges, it sounds like. Probably not even felonies. They're probably going to end up misdemeanors. If she pleads down, she ain't going to do any jail time. But the civil will get her. Florida executed 63-year-old James Chickenhead Robertson by lethal injection on Tuesday afternoon for the 2008 murder of his cellmate, Frank Hart. Robertson was pronounced dead at 12.32 p.m. at Florida State Prison after receiving a three-drug injection. Go figure, huh? It went with no. Problems, and they had the three-drug cocktail. When asked if he had any final words, Robertson replied simply, and this is a direct quote, nah, I'm straight.
43:38 That's a gangster thing to say on the way out. Word. Nah, I'm straight. Nah, I'm straight. He reportedly raised his head and smiled at the roughly 18 people present before the process took effect. Robertson's last meal consisted of steak, potatoes, fried eggs, toast, and milk. He had two visitors earlier in the day, a cousin and a pen pal, and he declined a spiritual advisor. So, you know, he's really sealed his deal all the way around as far as how he will be interpreted. On December the 10th of 2008, while he was housed at Charlotte Correctional Institution, Robertson fashioned a garrotte from several socks tied together and strangled the sleeping heart. Court records and his own statements established that the attack was unprovoked. Robertson told investigators he planned and carried out the killing specifically so he would be charged with first-degree murder and sent to death row, where he believed conditions would be better than the restrictive close management confinement that he had endured for years. He had been incarcerated since 1980 when he entered prison at 17 on burglary and assault charges. Subsequent prison convictions for escape, battery, and weapons offenses repeatedly extended his sentence. In 2018, Netflix series I Am Killer, Robertson described close management as torture, citing the loss of a television, long hours locked in a cell, limited outdoor time in what he called a little dog cage, and the absence of sunlight. Hart was killed just eight days before his scheduled release.
45:07 That's interesting timing there. His daughter later told reporters, when someone you love is taken from you in such a violent way, the world keeps moving, even when a part of yours feels like it has stopped. Other people go on with their lives, but you carry your loss into every tomorrow. Robertson pled guilty to first-degree premeditated murder, waived a jury recommendation in the penalty phase, and was sentenced to death in 2012. He consistently refused appeals and post-conviction challenges, stating he preferred execution to remaining in prison. In a recent case management conference, he reaffirmed that he wanted the sentence carried out because he had chosen. Death over life. The execution was Florida's 17th this year and the 45th under Governor Ron DeSantis. continuing a rapid pace that has drawn national attention. A second execution originally scheduled for the same day, that would have been William Lee Thompson, was halted days earlier after DeSantis withdrew the warrant amid questions about Thompson's mental capacity. Florida has executed 142 people since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. Robertson's case stands out for the rare combination of an inmate who openly sought capital punishment by committing murder inside prison and then cooperated with the process that led to his own death.
46:22 Oh, that's the one good thing that he did. He didn't, you know, appeal it throughout history here. He was he was ready to go. I wonder how he got his nickname. Chickenhead. Yeah. Chicken, chicken. All right, let's go to a little international indiscretion. And we're going to go to Germany for this one. And look, the future has arrived. And I know everybody's out there. Everybody out there has seen these humanoid robots that are like five feet tall, four feet tall. They're creepy. And they can make movements almost as good as humans. It's wild. Well, police have launched an investigation after a 16-year-old girl in Germany was allegedly sexually assaulted by a remote-controlled robot. The teenager was allegedly outside of a fast food restaurant in Cologne, Germany. This was on Sunday, October 11th, and a four-foot humanoid robot touched the girl's butt and made thrusting motions against her, according to police.
47:28 The teenager was with her 17- and 18-year-old friends in front of the restaurant and the robot is said to have approached her from behind and performed these actions, and you can imagine what it was doing. Police shared a photo of a red and gold robot that resembled the comic book character Iron Man, wearing a white tank top and black pants with a gold chain, and the device appeared to be a R1 robot, which is a Chinese-made robot. The alleged 16-year-old owner of the robot and his 19-year-old companion were accused of filming the assault, while streaming it live on social media. So it's a joke, right, to these kids. Now, when they said the owner was a 16-year-old kid, I looked up the cost of these robots, and they're like $ 30, 000 a piece. So where does a 16-year-old get $ 30, 000? Daddy? That's your first question. Who is his daddy? That's your second question, because that's a lot of money for anybody. Emergency services were alerted about the assault and found the suspect's They found the robot in the trunk once they located the suspects, and the 16-year-old had obviously put the device in there they were able to determine. The victim and the suspects have not been publicly identified. Police confiscated the robot as well as two cell phones, and they're looking into the situation as a suspicion of sexual harassment and went on to say the criminal investigation department is examining how the robot was functioning.
49:01 at the time and whether someone was deliberately controlling its movements. Because I'm sure the kids were like, we don't know what happened. That was an accident. We just had it walking around and it did that on its own, which is bullshit. I mean, I firmly believe, because they're filming it for social media. That's where they screwed up. Y'all are making a video. of this. Probably when they review the video, it's going to be the two kids laughing. Now, I don't think these kids had any real ill intent. They just thought it would be funny to walk up behind somebody and make the robot do that. I can see that at 16 years old, thinking that's funny. But those are things you've got to worry about these days. Yeah, but you still can't do that, even though I get that you think it's funny. It's not funny to that victim. And then you humiliate her online by live streaming it. That's another issue. And they're probably going to look at this as, You know, this is an extension.
49:53 That is what they're doing. This is an extension of you. You may not have been the one that actually touched her, but you use this tool in essence to do it. They're going to be busted now. Again, another idiot. But 16 years old, I mean, I don't think that they need to go to jail for life or anything. No, no, no. It's stupidity, but they're going to learn a hard lesson there. But we saw recently that video, or I saw, where it was just on its own. It went and started attacking that person in the lab. I don't know if you saw that one or not. I haven't seen that. But it was just, the robot was standing there and then the guy was just doing something and it turned around and it seemed to just attack him out of thin air. Now, whether that's true or not, obviously. And that's the whole problem with AI right now. You can make it look like anything.
50:34 Yeah. I mean, that could be some more, I don't believe anything anymore. Me, I don't even believe you're here. Okay. All right, let's go to Florida. I mean, I've been in Florida the whole daggum time, but that's okay. A lot's happening there. A 47-year-old Boca Raton woman was arrested early October 3rd after police said she attacked another woman in the restroom of a downtown nightclub and ripped a necklace from her neck during a dispute involving a shared romantic connection. Waldeck? Always is. All right, Waldeck Gonzalves... was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, felony criminal mischief, and simple battery, according to the police department arrest report. She was arrested at Cosmos Nightclub and booked.
51:23 That's a fun place, actually. Anytime I hear Cosmo, I think of Seinfeld, Kramer. I've been to Cosmos. You have? Oh, yeah. Good time? Oh, yeah. What kind of club is it, though? Fun club. It's like a regular nightclub. It's regular? Yeah. All right. Officers were called to the club shortly after midnight for a reported physical disturbance. The woman who called police told an officer that her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend had attacked her inside the establishment. According to the report, the woman said she was walking to the restroom when a stranger asked her, why did you block me on Instagram? Of course you did. Because those are fighting words? Yeah. Yeah. She told police she was confused at first. And then realized the woman was the girlfriend of her former boyfriend. The woman alleged that when she tried to walk away, Gonsalves grabbed her by the arm and drug her into the restroom.
52:16 She told police that Gonsalves then asked where the necklace she was wearing had been bought or whether it had been bought by her ex-boyfriend and pulled it from her neck, scratching her in the process. When she grabbed Gonsalves, I know, catfight, new segment. When she grabbed Gonsalves in an attempt to get the necklace back, Gonsalves grabbed her arm again and bit her finger. Yeah. You bite my finger, I'm going to shove it down your damn throat. You're going to swallow it. Once you bite it, you're swallowing it. That didn't sound good, but just know if you fight me, that's. What's going to happen. I wasn't going to say nothing. All right. The responding officer reported seeing redness on the woman's neck and left forearm, along with a small cut on her finger of her right hand. The officer wrote that the marks appeared consistent with a fresh injury, and the woman gave police the necklace, which was visibly broken, and said it was worth about $ 2, 600. Dang. I don't know. Because of a language barrier, the arresting officer was unable to speak with Gonsalves, who is a Brazilian national. At least they couldn't speak to her in English. So a second officer who communicated with her in Portuguese relayed her account.
53:25 Gonsalves told police the other woman entered the restroom to antagonize her, but acknowledged grabbing the necklace from the woman's neck, according to the report. She said several people interviewed and separated them, after which she handed the necklace to another woman in the restroom. The arresting officer then read Gonsalves her rights, translating them verbatim in Portuguese from a department-issued card. If I have to... If you gave me Portuguese. That is a hard language, too. Have you ever tried to learn Portuguese? No, I barely have English. Holy smokes, that's a hard language. You need to look it up. I had a friend that learned it fluently. Yeah? Just for fun. For fun? Yeah, my son can speak some Portuguese. Yeah, but he's brainy. Yeah, well, my other friend was, too. But, hell, I'm brainy.
54:09 I can't speak it. Look, we need to look up our rights in Portuguese and try to say them. And then someone can rate us how good we speak it. And she wrote it off of a card. which is probably just as hard. I would imagine speaking it. Look it up. I'm going to try to do it. It's a tough language. All right. Gonsalves said she understood them and asked for an attorney, and the officers ended their questioning. A club staff member also spoke with police at the scene, according to the report. She told officers she heard a commotion from the woman's restroom and went to investigate, then saw Gonsalves pulling the necklace from the other woman's neck, and that when she asked Gonsalves for it, she deliberately broke it by pulling it apart with her hands. The woman said she collected it. I know. What a bitch, man. The woman said she. Collected the broken pieces and returned them to the owner.
54:49 Gonzales was ultimately released on $ 16, 000 combined bail for the three charges. Let me tell you, these Latino women, they will get banned quick. All of them are like little red hot chili peppers. I mean, they really are. You don't want to mess with a Latino woman and All my little Latino women out there listening right now are like, that's right, Jim. You tell them. You don't mess with us. You block me on Instagram and you date my ex-boyfriend? I'm going to find out what's what. And that's what she did. Look, that whole situation was really just alcohol-infused, likely. And stupidity.
55:31 Yeah, if they saw each other in public and she didn't have, I don't know, 19 twisted teas, it might be different. But there you have it. Let's go into overtime. Let's get to the nut cut. This first story is actually tragic. It happened in Georgia, and a 42-year-old Atlanta man died Monday after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster. This is in Six Flags over Georgia. Been there. He struck other riders before landing beneath the attraction, and several other people were injured in that incident. Now, Cobb County Police identified the victim... As Hassan Kareem, he was of Atlanta, officers responded to the park at 3.58 p.m. and Kareem was found dead, numb, responsive, and not breathing beneath the ride. He was later officially pronounced dead. Preliminary information from a witness and employee indicates he was ejected from the ride, struck other patrons, and fell below the attraction. Four people were injured and taken to the hospital. There's no details as of yet on their conditions. Witnesses described the chaotic scene. One rider said that he fell and hit the car three different times, which the ride cars before landing on the roof of a haunted house attraction below. And that was, that moment was captured in the rides souvenir photos.
56:59 Yeah. And I saw it. Did you look it up? No. So, uh, That's horrible. It is. And whenever you listen to this. So he fell and it just so happened they were snapping on the souvenir. So it's on a descent, right? So your hair is blown back and you're screaming. And it's listening to one of the people that saw it happen. It makes total sense in the photo because what you see, and I mean, zero disrespect when I say this, but you actually never see his face. It's like he flew forward and it's just like his butt. And you can see like his, his jeans kind of slid down a little bit, but he has bent head over, over the people in front of him. And you can just see he's mid tumble out of it. So that would have been how he hit multiple cars.
57:39 I mean, it's horrific. Says another passenger said the man appeared to levitate sideways out of his seat, make eye contact and was struck by the train multiple times and was flown from the ride. Accounts indicate Kareem was riding with his son while his wife and daughter watched from the ground. This is so horrible. The ride stopped after the incident, straining other passengers high on the track for roughly an hour before they were evacuated. Oh, my gosh. Goliath, y'all, is a hypercoaster. It stands about 200 feet tall, reaches speeds of 70 miles per hour, and lasts nearly four minutes. It uses a lap bar restraint rather than an over-the-shoulder harness. Park employees had checked the restraint before the rides, according to some riders. The manufacturer said it is actively investigating the incident. Now, he was a public school employee in Atlanta at a public charter school, and he had worked there for 12 years in the IT department and is a technology teacher, and his presence and impact will be deeply missed, that according to the staff. Now, this was not the first death associated with Goliath. In July of 2006, shortly after the ride opening, a 45-year-old man died after losing consciousness during the ride. But he actually had a heart condition, and he rode the ride and apparently had a heart attack.
59:05 And they say don't ride Right. And he died. He didn't actually come out of the ride. This is just something you don't hear of often tragic and prayers out to all who knew and love that guy. You know, it really frustrates me too. I love roller coasters. Okay. I like riding them, but something that always happens is I panic when they lock those restraints. I really want them to check it. You know how they just kind of walk by and pop it with their hand and like, I'll kind of pop it and it'll come up a little bit. And whenever I'm like, are you sure it's locked? They always laugh. It seems like the workers think it's funny and they laugh. And I'm sure that everybody does that to them, but it's these kinds of instances of why you get so nervous when you get on these roller coasters. And I don't understand how this could have passed inspection.
59:49 I can't believe you even ride them. You're scared to fly a plane, but you'll ride a roller coaster? Well, it's because my kids are on them. If my kids are on them, I'm dying with them, man. I'm not going to send them alone. But I just freak out. I'm scared as hell, but I'll ride a roller coaster. But gosh darn it, I wish all roller coasters had double restraints because it scares me. I feel like there should be a safety system in case the first one fails. Okay, Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is going to be another elderly outlaw. And this guy we're talking about is 84 years old. And he was arrested for creating and selling explosives from his Lake Charles home. This is all according to deputies. On October the 2nd, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force, along with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives, searched the home of John Sinkankus, 84 years old, in relation to an ongoing joint investigation. Investigators say that he was manufacturing and selling explosives that were... I guess, done at his home, which is only 500 feet away from a school, if that doesn't make you a little nervous.
1:00:56 Detectives initially learned the devices were manufactured to resemble fireworks, but after further investigation, it was discovered these devices contained an illegal amount of explosive materials. During the search, detectives found several pounds of explosive powders, around 18 pounds of explosive precursors, numerous handmade explosives, and materials used to assemble them. Sankankus was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with manufacture and possession of delayed action incendiary devices. He was released the following day on a $ 150, 000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazio. The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible. Wow. And I'll tell you one thing. The way you delivered that story was dynamite.
1:01:42 Oh! I like it. That's right. That was good. I like it. I thought of that myself. Also, I'd like to say that He definitely had a short fuse. Oh, my God. The dad jokes are out. But, you know, sometime when I hear dad jokes, I really think that was banging. Very good. Actually, what are you doing at 84, bro? You're 84. You have outlived the majority of us, right? 84 years old. Wait a minute. He hasn't lost his spark. Oh, my gosh. I've done started it with you now. Now we're both sitting here trying to think of more. Okay, let's get back to this. Honestly, he's 84. And what are you doing? Life expectancy for a dude is like 73 or something like that. This guy's outkicked the coverage by like 10 years and he's going to use, now.
1:02:34 He's going to jail for explosives. You know what I bet it is? So my husband, for example, he loves fireworks. He loves blowing stuff up. And I bet you that this guy thought that he was making some like extraordinary fireworks, but it's like, dude, that's illegal. That's why they have certain specs on them. And he was selling them to the locals and what he got out. I bet you that's what it was. I don't think he was. That dude knew exactly what he was doing. Making some cool ass fireworks. Probably an OG crook. His whole life, 84 years old, playing with fireworks. His popularity is going to really blow up now. Oh, okay. Last one. I'm done. I'm done.
1:03:15 I can't think anymore. I wish I could. I'm trying to come up with something. But anyway, we'll go on to the next story. And this is horrible, so no more laughing. Because we're going to go to Pennsylvania. We're going to talk about a sexual assault of a 17-year-old. A 28-year-old Pennsylvania man has been convicted of in the rape of a 17-year-old girl who was intoxicated and unable to consent after he took her on a jet ski ride to an island in the Susquehanna River. I think is how that's said. Salvatore Villa del Toro was found guilty on all counts following a five-day trial, which is a long trial for, believe it or not, most trials aren't that long. Jurors deliberated for about an hour before returning that verdict. So the incident occurred, y'all, 2024, July of that year, along a river shoreline. And the 17-year-old girl, she had been drinking with friends. And this guy walks up, Villa del Toro. He arrives on a jet ski and he says, hey, you want to go for a ride?
1:04:20 Before the jet ski ride, the victim said she had two twisted tees and felt wasted. Now, I've never drank Twisted Teas, but will two make you pretty drunk? I'm sure your body weight and everything, how quickly you slammed them would matter. Well, I'm asking personal experience. I don't drink Twisted Teas. I thought you drank Twisted Teas. Why did I think you drank those? You think I just drink anything? I'm a connoisseur of neutral and high noon. Yeah. Maybe that's neutrals I haven't confused with. Well, the girl remembered falling from a bench and hitting her head on a rock, later needing help to get up. At this point, the victim said Villa del Toro raped her and took her bathing suit. She later testified that he took her to an island where he raped her while she was in and out of consciousness, unable to consent. Roughly an hour later, she returned with him. Her friends immediately noticed something was wrong. She could barely stand or walk, they said.
1:05:16 Concerned she may have been drugged, they called police, reported possible overdose. Troopers responded but could not speak with her because of her condition. She was smashed. She was taken to a local hospital where a vaginal swab was collected, and that swab matched his DNA. Villa del Toro initially denied having sex with the girl, but he later admitted to the sexual encounter after dropping her off near a swimming hole. but described it as consensual. Prosecutors said he knew she was intoxicated at the time. Of course he did. Yeah, I mean, this poor girl can't even... The ambulance people can't even communicate with her. The jury convicted him of one count of rape, of an unconscious victim, two counts of indecent assault, and a slew of other charges.
1:06:07 And he took her swimsuit so she couldn't get away. Think about it, because she wouldn't have run off naked. Right, and... I'm curious if he drugged her somehow. I mean, it sounds like two twisted tees wouldn't put you so inebriated that you can't communicate with an ambulance staff. I don't know what the. Two twisted tees? Yeah, but I don't know what the volume... I think it's. Like a wine cooler or something. I mean, it's not. Well, some of these little girls that are 17 years old, some of them don't weigh 90 pounds. And you've been out in the sun all day. You've been swimming. If she hadn't been eating and then she pounded two of theâ because don't they make those real big twisted tees? I could see that it could if she was pounding them quickly and then got onâ I could see how you could quickly go downhill.
1:06:53 Well, it don't have her weight on there. Yeah. I mean, I don't know the volume. I know some pretty skinny girls that could put down some alcohol now. Yeah, but if youâ It's not always your weight. Sometimes the tolerance matters. Yeah, well, I was going to say if you drink a lot of time, but it does say it's a malt beverage, 5% alcohol by volume. Yeah, it's like a wine pool. Oh, but they have extreme ones, it says, that are 8%. Still. So, I mean, I don't know. Two of those is not going to inebriate you to the point that you can't communicate, I wouldn't imagine. Whether you ate or not, I don't think two of those is going to. Seems like he gave her a drug of some sort.
1:07:33 Well, I'm sure they did toxicology, so we'll know. But I don't know. I've seen some of these kids that you never drank and then it caught up with you shortly thereafter. Like you thought you were okay. Yeah, but you're not a little girl who might not have a lot of experience drinking. Well, thank you, Kelly. You're a grown man. You're a big, strong man. I'm not a little girl. But you're assuming this is a little girl. You don't know. I am. You don't know. She could be 5'9, 200. She could, but I don't think he would have slung her on the back of his jet ski and thought he might could tackle her and take advantage of her either. That's part of what I was... I guess I was doing some victimology there, assuming he got someone he thought he could overpower easily. Well. I thought too much into it. You're right. No.
1:08:13 I don't know. I don't either. But either way, she didn't deserve it, regardless of her status. And so. Kudos to her friends those are good friends that immediately recognized an issue and called police and didn't go oh she's wasted we don't want her parents to find out or something like that and don't say anything good for them that's true yeah I think that's awesome All right, so let's go to California. And co-workers at a well-known San Diego brunch restaurant were shocked this week when their longtime head chef was taken into custody and identified as a man authorities say had been living under a false name for more than a decade. U.S. Marshals Service announced the arrest of Brian Anthony Williams, 50 years old, describing him as a 14-year Iowa fugitive. Williams is wanted in connection with a 2012 kidnapping and assault case in Davenport, Iowa. After leaving the state, authorities say he relocated to San Diego, where he worked under the name Troy Williams and eventually rose to head chef at Miss B's Coconut Club. Restaurant general manager Eddie Jurado, or Jurado, told NBC News that this was really hard for them all to process.
1:09:18 This is crazy, he said. I've been here 10 and a half years. He's been here 10 and a half years. He's been running that kitchen for about eight or nine. We've been through COVID. I was his roommate for a while, and he's not even Troy. You know, this guy's like, he's not even who I thought he was. Jurado said that a friend alerted him to the arrest and directed him to look up the name Brian Anthony Williams. According to the Marshal Service, Williams faces charges in Iowa that include first-degree kidnapping, assault and willful injury causing serious injury, conspiracy to commit a felony, and first-degree arson. He's also charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Investigators allege that on October the 8th of 2012, Williams and others kidnapped, assaulted, and shot a woman before leaving her in a field in northwest Davenport. So this wasn't some just disagreement.
1:10:07 It's just serious. He left Iowa roughly a year later. Despite living under an alias, Williams did not completely avoid the spotlight in San Diego. The marshal's service said investigators received a tip about his location last month and subsequently found that he had appeared in local publications and television reports under the name Troy Williams. He was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday inside the restaurant. He remains in custody in California while awaiting extradition to Iowa, and the case is ongoing. And you know, that's a... I'm always, when I hear about these people that were on the run and they were able to conceal their identity for that long in this day and time, I'm like, how the hell did they do that? Man, I can't go to... down the street to a grocery store without people knowing where I was.
1:10:53 Much less, 14 years for a serious crime now. The only thing I can ascertain that he was thinking was he was in California. I was a whole different world than California. I mean, you're talking Iowa's cornfields, right? And it's very rural. There's nothing but farmland in the vast majority of Iowa. So the... I mean, the way he was able to just stay on the run, though, for this long, I'd be interested to know exactly who turned him in. Because somebody had to know. Somebody knew. I wonder if it was somebody from Iowa, maybe from his town, that went to eat at that restaurant and was like, that's mine. I don't believe it. I don't believe that at all.
1:11:35 What I think is that even if you move, people seem to think distance is going to separate you from your crime. Even if you move. It's very rare that someone completely cuts contact with people that they love or they're close with at home. And I bet you he slipped up. He was talking to somebody from back home and that person may have said something and that's how they ended up tracking him down. Because loose lips sink ships. We know that. And I would be willing to bet that's where that breakdown came from. But we don't know. We're making it up as we go. Yeah, we don't. We don't. We're definitely just spitballing on that one. Well, he's caught now and 14 years. Pretty amazing that you're able to stay on the run that long.
1:12:17 And a dangerous time. That's our show for today. That was a good one. Yeah. Kelly, any final thoughts? Yeah. If you have not yet, please go check out Unspeakable, a true crime podcast by Kelly Jennings, because I have broken down that Lindsay Clancy case, and I've completed the entire series now. If you're someone who likes to take it all in in one big gulp, you can go check that out. All right. How about you? I would say that's a pretty explosive ending for you. Oh, my gosh. I can't think of any more. Explosive is the only one I come up with. I know. I know. But this show's been pretty incendiary. Oh, good one. No? Was that all right? No, I like that one. That's pretty good.
1:12:58 So we're going to continue to light it up. Yeah. You know? Yeah, we'll keep on cracking. That's right. Nice. That was a good one. All right, y'all. We're going to quit being corny for today. I do want to thank all the listeners out there. It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As well, so our thoughts are always with those out there that have had breast cancer, had a family member that had breast cancer, died of breast cancer, those sort of things. Thoughts and prayers are with you. And wear pink maybe one day this month, even if you're a dude. It's okay. It doesn't make you feminine to wear a little pink shirt every now and then. So until next time, I'm Jim Chapman. And I'm Kelly Jennings. And we are your host of Crime.
