A YouTuber who faked a live stream to cover up a murder gets thirty one years in prison. It's going to be a new segment. We have another update in the cruise line murder of Anna Kepner that just came out in the news. We're also going to have a new uh well, this isn't a new segment, but the True Crime time Machine is going to be going back fifty seven year years today. Uh.

This dude lost his shit. We're going to talk about that, and of course we'll have overtime after so we're going to get into it. All right, we're gonna get a Butts County, Georgia and a Georgia man who fatally shot his broadstep father hours after their outdoor wedding will not face murder charges after prosecutors determined there was not enough evidence to prove he was the aggressor. Aaron White thirty three, of Covington. He had been indicted on felony murder charges and some aggravated assault charges in connection with the death of Jason Maghan, who is forty four. And what essentially happened in this case was Aaron White and Kaylee White. They were getting married. This was on July thirteenth of twenty twenty four, in a wedding held in the woods of Butts County. The celebration turned deadly before midnight, according to investigators and witness accounts. Earlier that evening, there had been an altercation involving another of the bride's relatives. Jason, The bride's stepfather, punched Aaron White in the face at one point. Later, the stepfather and other relatives arrived in separate vehicles, and the other relative allegedly began firing a

5:15 gun at the event this is a heck of a wedding. Maghawn then charged toward Aaron White, so the stepfather and Aaron White, who had been shot in the hand, retreated his own firearm from his truck and open fire on the stepfather. White is consistently maintained that he acted in self defense, and judging by that story, it sounds like that might be the case. He told investigators in media that the stepfather had threatened to cut him and that he feared for his life. Quote, the last time I seen him, he was threatening to cut me. So it's a fear for my own life. Sorry, somebody had to lose their life, but I had to do what I had to do to protect myself. White's wife, Kaylee, has publicly supported her husband, stating she believes he was protecting himself and their family. Bud's County Sheriff Gary Long described the case as one of the clearest examples of self defense he has seen in his career and publicly agreed with the efforts to pursue disagree with the efforts to pursue murder charges. Georgia Bureau of Investigation handled the case.

6:27 In an initial grand jury declined to indict White on felony murder. However, after additional crime lab reports, the former district attorney his name was Jonathan Adams, he presented a case to a second grand jury, which returned an indictment on felony murder and aggravated assault. Now, due to a conflict, the Butts County DA office was disqualified and the Henry County DA was appointed to handle the prosecution. At that point, in January of twenty twenty six, White gets arrested. Then in early June of twenty twenty six, the DA's office filed paperwork to drop the murder charge. That order gets signed by a judge who said, after a thorough review of the evidence an investigation, it has been determined that the state cannot meet its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt at a trial due to lack of evidence. Specifically, prosecutors concluded they couldn't prove that White was the main aggressor, so Airing and Kaylee White. They expressed relief, with Kaylee telling the media we waited two years to finally take a breath and realize the nightmares over. As far as the legal side of it, White's defense attorneys said their client never should have faced his second grand during indictment and thanked the district attorney and Shaff for the review.

7:51 And you may wonder about the stepfather's family, They remained devastated and unconvinced his saying that basically the step father was completely unarmed and the family feels justice was not served. They have complied their own case file, compiled their own case file, and indicated they do not plan to drop the matter. So there you have it. Yeah, it makes you wonder, first of all, what was the motive, because they didn't really cover what they would even say the motive of the of the whole squabble started over Yeah, just n in. The night, there was an altercation. Yeah, well I guess he punched him, but like what led to that? I would be curious but there's a few things here number one. And I don't mean to be funny here at all when I say that's a weird like how do you celebrate your anniversary after that?

But the fact that there was a failure to indict, so you sit before a grand jury present your case and they're like, nah, you don't meet the burden. Then they go again to get the second indictment, and then they had to switch the county if I if I understood that correctly, So it makes you wonder, and it was due to a conflict. It says like, you know, a conflict of some sort. So I would be curious to know. I know, we're not we can't figure it out obviously right now, but I would be curious to know what changed and caused the conflict. And that was after that second indictment. It seems like, you know, did somebody know somebody and that's how they are able to get that or even if crime lab stuff came back. I mean, that's just DNA type style things like who's like, you know, DNA on a gun or whatever. I don't see how that would have made such a difference between the first and second well presentation, there was no debate.

9:33 No one's debating that this guy didn't kill his stepfather, right, They're debating whether he was the primary a grosser or whether he was defending himself. And they're just saying there's not enough evidence to say that he wasn't defending himself. Right. So what I'm what I'm getting at is that they failed to indict him the first time because they don't know they or they. They saw it an indictment, right, but he wasn't indicted. It was a no bill. So but then they said he was indicted after more forensic evidence came back. Well that's my point. That's my point, Like, Okay, DNA doesn't change motive. DNA doesn't change who's the aggressor. So I don't see, you know, what happened there. But that's an interesting one. If he's at his wedding, it doesn't you know, you're not usually armed at the teeth at your wedding, had to run to his truck to get the gun. From all accounts of what we know, it does sound like it was.

I understood it right, he ran to get his gun after shots were fired, So that would mean someone else opened fire first, if I'm understanding it correctly. So well, White had been shot in the hand, so the seemed to be son and the son. Yeah, son, I guess he got shot in the hand and then he went and got firearm. So how could you be the main aggressor if you got shot first and didn't even have a weapon on you. I mean, I know you could have run up and punched him first. But you know, I'm getting in the weeds here, but it just sounds like they made a good thing here when they reviewed all the evidence and you got to be able to prove it.

Yeah, all right, let's go to Houston and we're gonna have to talk about a guy that I know that we personally we sing his music every Saturday night in Tiger Stadium during football season. I know I do, because they blasted over the speakers and that's batan Ru's rapper. Boozy Badass, also known as Torrence Hatch Junior. He appeared in Harris County Court this past Monday, and he posted an eighty five thousand dollars bond on a felony aggravated assault charge after prosecutors accused him of striking a security guard in the back of the head with a glass hookah based at Dome Nightclub in downtown Houston. After the hearing, Boosey posted a Facebook video dismissing the case as a quote unquote money grab and insisting the facts would emerge.

11:55 According to police reports, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of May twenty fourth, which was Worial Day weekend, at the Dome nightclub. While staff were clearing the venue at closing time. A female patron allegedly argued with security after being told the bathrooms were closed. She reportedly struck the guard in the face with her elbow. While the guard was escorting her towards the exit and bending down to help retrieve items she had dropped, he was struck from behind in the top of the head with the glass hookah base. The guard turned around to find blood running down his face and allegedly saw Boosey holding the broken glass base. The victim was taken to the hospital. He required eight staples to treat the head wound. Prosecutors charged Boosy with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, alleging he intentionally, knowingly and recklessly caused bodily harm using the glass hookah as a weapon. In his post court Facebook video, Boosey described or directly excuse me, addressed the charges, saying, quote, I mean, we in court right now, but this is a money grab man. This guy wasn't even supposed to be a security in the first place. This inward done seventeen eighteen years for aggravated arm robbery with a deadly weapon.

13:03 He just got caught at the border a couple years back. He added. The facts of the case will come out, and he noted that he had already contacted his probation officer upon learning of the warrant days earlier. Boosey's attorneys said the court told the court they planned to vigorously defend him and investigate the case. The defense maintains Boosy was defending another person described in some reports as either a relative or a niece as the woman who was being escorted out, and he was trying to de escalate the situation. They and yeah, okay. They intend to obtain club surveillance footage to support their position and are hopeful the case can be dismissed. Now. The judge said Boosy's bond at eighty five thousand and allowed a what he called walk through bond, meaning that he did not have to remain in custody. He was ordered to have no contact with the complaining witness, which is this security guard whose name was or is Edward Eigelhardt, and he said he had to stay away from the Dome night Club. The next court date will be September fifteenth of this year. Now, grainy leaked cell phone footage from inside the club has circulated online and it shows a chaotic scene with an object striking someone in the head, but it doesn't clearly identify who threw the hookah base.

14:11 A man believed to be Boosy is visibly right there on screen, and he's standing in the background watching the aftermath. The Dome Nightclub incident adds to Boosy's lengthy legal history. The Baton Rouge rapper was placed on probation earlier this year following gun related charges in Louisiana. Boosy has long been a polarizing and outspoken figure in Southern hip hop, known for his raw storytelling, frequent legal battles, and unfiltered social media presence. His quick dismissal of the latest charges as a money grab also came with pointed comments about the alleged victim's background and are consistent with the history of publicly fighting back against accusations. As of now, the case remains pending. Both sides are expected to present additional evidence, including possible video, before the September hearing.

I'm not saying that he's doing great things, you know, constantly, but like you know, he tries to get back in some ways and do things. But when your legal battles continuously outweigh the positive things that you try to do, people are going to get tired of it.

We're gonna We're going to go to Brian, Ohio, and a thirty one year old woman has been indicted on charges including attempted murder after authorities say she broke into her husband's home and she fired a handgun in him while he was sleeping in bed. Amanda Heller was indicted by grand jury on charges of attempted murder, burglary, domestic violence, and improper discharge of a firearm, and she's currently in custody in Northwest Ohio now. According to court documents, the incident occurred to a residence where prosecutors alleged at Heller, armed with a handgun, unlawfully entered the home while her ex husband was asleep. She allegedly threatened to kill him and then fired two rounds inside of that residance. Details on whether the ex husband was struck by the gunfire or injured have not been released in public filings, and no other individuals were reported harmed in the incident, so Heller faces serious felony charges stemming from what investigators describe as a targeted domestic incident. And you know, attemptive murder carries significant potential penalties under Ohio law, especially in cases involving the use of a firearm during a burglary. The owner of one of three competition horses stabbed at a major barrel racing event in Las Vegas has revealed that the seventeen year old suspect had a history of making comments about her and her horse and had attempted to meet them in person. Prior to the attack. The revelation adds a disturbing layer to the case in which the teenage competitor allegedly used a knife to injure three horses in their stalls early last Saturday morning at South Point Arena and Equestrian Center during the National Barrel Horse Association Professional's Choice Las Vegas Super Show.

Right, golly all right. So police were called after two am on Saturday, May thirtieth, after horses were found injured in the barn. Investigators determined the wounds were intentional and inflicted with a sharp object believed to be a knife. Three horses, Detail, Sully and Rocket, suffered multiple stab wounds but survived after on site veterinary care. The injuries were serious enough to sideline all three horses from competition for the remainder of the event. Owners have described significant trauma to the animals, with one horse now shying away from human touch. The suspect, who is a seventeen year old barrel racing competitor at the show, had access to the barn arena. She was identified by detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Animal Cruelty Unit, taken into custody from a nearby hotel, and booked on twelve counts of wilful or malicious killing, maiming or torturing an animal, and three counts of felony malicious destruction of private property. The District Attorney, Stephen Wolfson's office is petitioning to have the teen tried as an adult. Ariel Phillips, owner of the horse named Details, spoke out about the suspect's previous behavior. Phillips said that the teenager follows her on social media and had made comments about trying to meet her and the horse at last year's NBHA Super Show.

Phillips has described the teen in strong terms her and obsessed stalker, and social media posts and interviews, she expressed heartbreak over her horse's condition. Another competitor reportedly described interactions with the suspect as kind of scary. The NBHA issued a statement confirming the suspect was a competitor whose membership has since been suspended, and the three injured horses are expected to recover physically. As the case remains under investigation, a hearing on the district attorney's request to try the seventeen year old as an adult is expected in the coming weeks.

I think she was so obsessed with that woman and the horses that she stabbed them so she could be a part of them somehow, like so she could be tied to them. I don't think it was about winning.

And in this brand new segment, we're gonna bring you a high profile crime from around the globe and this week we're going to Northern Ireland, Belfast to be specific. And I want to shout out listener Gena Dupree Smith for sending this story in. And it's about a YouTuber who staged a fake live stream to cover up his pregnant girlfriend's murder and his sentence for that. So, a Northern Irish YouTuber who murdered his pregnant girlfriend and attempted to cover it up with a meticulously staged fake live stream has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of thirty one years. And what that means is after thirty one years he'll have the opportunity for a paro. Doesn't necessarily mean he'll get it. Stephen McCullough, who is thirty six, was convicted of murdering thirty two year old Natalie McNally, who was fifteen weeks pregnant with his child at her home on December eighteenth of twenty twenty two. On the night of the killing, he uploaded and scheduled a six hour live gaming stream on his YouTube channel, and he appeared to be playing Grand Theft Auto Vice City from his home, even commenting to viewers

26:31 and claiming technical issues prevented live chat interaction. Now in reality, that stream was pre recorded four days earlier. Digital forensic analysis proved the footage You've Been created somewhere around December fourteenth of twenty twenty two, and was simply broadcast as if it were live, before being deleted shortly after it ended. While the fake stream was running, McCullough traveled from his home to another home in disguise, wearing dark clothing, a face covering, and carrying a rutsack, which is like a backpack, and Close caption TV captured him arriving at eight point fifty two pm at the victim's home. Neighbors reported hearing screams shortly after nine pm, and McNally was subjected to brutal and a sustained attack. She was stabbed in the neck, strangled, and struck at least five times in the head, suffering facial fractures and broken bones at her neck. The post mortem autopes he concluded death resulted either from stab wounds or neck compression, and her unborn baby also died. Mccallough returned home after the killing. The following evening, he called emergency services from her home, claiming he found her an attempted CPR and he's crying on this call, saying she's gone and there's blood everywhere. And he initially told police

28:02 an abusive ex partner was responsible, and he also mentioned, hey, I was on a live stream and he kind of used that as an alibi. But police they grew suspicious. He was released after initial questioning, but re arrested weeks later once digital forensics came back and showed that he wasn't really own that live stream. They also were able to access some phone records from his device, showing that his phone was inactive during key periods when he was apparently beating the shit out of this poor girl. So he has this trial, and it took five weeks, it concluded, and a journey unanimously found him guilty of that murdyr after just two hours of deliberation. He didn't testify in that trial, and he was sentenced to life in prison, as I said, with a minimum term of thirty one years before he can be considered for release. Her family spoke about their devastation. Her father said he hoped the sentence would serve as a deterrent against violence toward women.

29:10 And so there you have it. I lost their daughter and their yeah grandhome, and this guy he went through some pretty wild steps of trying to cover this up. I mean, he had definitely premeditated all of them. Yeah, And this is proof that when people think they're smarter than the average bear, they ought to spend a little more time, you know, testing their own intelligence. Because if you pre record this and you stream it live, the metadata of the original recording will very clearly and easily show when that was recorded. And then you know, when you're traveling, okay, from point A to point B, if your phone isn't traveling with you and hitting the towers wall you're traveling, then that means the phone's at home and it's inactive, which means you couldn't be live streaming from.

You're right, But it said inactivity in his phone. That's why why I leapt to that conclusion. It could be very. Elaborate, super elaborate to do that. It shows, like you said, very in depth thinking and and and this is horrible that you would go to that extent to cover it up. And they didn't give motive I guess, right, just that. They I guess he didn't want to have a baby with her or something. I don't know, right, but that's terrible. And now two lives are gone, and congratulations, you get to go to prison until everybody you killed your own child and her his or her mother.

A forty one year old man known to Tangibahoa Parish authorities as the Pope Trader wasn't taken into custody Friday after two people tried to do a citizen's arrest at his house, which led to a disturbance call, and then all three of them ended up getting arrested at the same time. Gilbert Bruce Starkey, Junior, of Hammond, has been wanted on two counts of felony thefts since at least March, in connection with alleged theft of septic tank equipment and parts.

31:27 Investigators said Starkey stole items including an air compressor from a septic tank and a blower from a home, with each piece of equipment valued at more than fifteen hundred dollars. Detectives reported spotting similar items being offered for sale on social media, which helped them link him to the crimes. The Tangobahoa Parish Sheriff's office has publicly sought the public's help to locate Starkey earlier this year, referring to him as the poopetrator in their appeals for information. According to the deputies, they were called out to Starkey's home on a disturbance report. When they got there, two individuals claimed that they were in the process of conducting a citizen's arrest on Starkey related to those theft accusations. Deputies took Starky into custody on the outstanding felony theft warrants. The two people attempting the citizens arrest were also arrested. Guess why, Joe, why they had outstanding warrants. Imagine that no additional charges stemming from the disturbance itself have been reported at this time.

However, on May sixth of twenty twenty six, she entered a guilty plead to a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter as part of a negotiated plea agreement with San Diego County, and she's scheduled to be sentenced actually on June sixth, so that would be tomorrow, I believe, or it'd be Saturday. Only the terms of the deal, she is expected to receive a four year term.

A federal judge has declined to jail a sixteen year old Florida teenager accused of murdering and sexually assaulting his eighteen year old stepsister aboard a carnival cruise ship last year, allowing him to remain in the custody of a family member while he awaits trial on adult charges. And you'll remember, if you've been a listener for a while, we covered this story when it first broke and now we're kind of getting to see more about this. So US Magistrate Judge Edwin Torres issue the ruling Wednesday, following and hearing in Miami, where prosecutors had argued for detention, citing the severity of the alleged crimes. The teenager, identified in court documents as thh Or Timothy Hudson, walked out of the courthouse after the decision rather than being taken into custody. Hudson has pled not guilty to the charges of first degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse. He faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted. So the case stems back from November of twenty twenty five, in the death of Anna Kepner during a family vacation on the carnival Horizon. According to

41:27 court documents and an autopsy, Kepner's body was found concealed under a bed in the cabin that she shared with Hudson and another teen before the ship returned to Florida. The Miami Dade Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia. Prosecutors said that she had been pinned down and violently sexually assaulted, and that it likely took three to five minutes for her to be strangled to death. Because the incident occurred in international waters, the case falls under federal jurisdiction rather than the state court. Hudson was initially charged as a juvenile, but in February, Judge Torres allowed him to live with an uncle under electronic monitoring. After a federal grand jury indicted him as an adult. In April, prosecutors moved to revoke his release, arguing he posed a danger to the community and was a greater flight risk now that he faces a potential life sentence. The Assistant US Attorney Alexandra Lopez told the court that there is clear and convincing evidence that this defendant is a danger to the community, noting the crimes involved the violent rape and killing of a stepsister with whom he had no apparent relational strife. Defense attorney Evan Coole argued that Hudson has complied with all conditions of his release for months without incident and poses.

But this occurred this day in history, and it was supposed to be a night of triumph. Just after midnight on June fifth of nineteen sixty eight, Senator Robert F. Kennedy stood before a jubulant crowd. This was in the embassy ballroom of the Ambassador hotel in Los Angeles. He had just won the California Democratic presidential primary, which was a critical victory at that point in history. The crowd chanted his name as he delivered a hopeful victory speech, and minutes later he was dying on the floor of the hotel kitchen. So after addressing supporters, Kennedy exited through a back hallway in kitchen area to avoid the crush of the crowd, and he would shake hands with hotel staff make his way toward a press area, and a young man stepped forward from the crowd by the name of Sirhan Sirhan, who was a twenty four year old Palestinian immigrant. He pulled a twenty two caliber revolver and he opened fire. Kennedy was shot three times, once in the head, twice in the upper body. Five other people were also wounded in the chaos, and as Kennedy lay bleeding on the floor, a bus boy named

He was convicted of first degree murder in nineteen sixty nine and originally sentenced to death. However, California abolished the death penalty in nineteen seventy two, and so that sentence was commuted to life in prison. Now, the year nineteen sixty eight was really a particularly bad year for the United States.

The Vietnam War was raging at this time, no end in sight. College campuses were in upheaval, and now another Kennedy, the brother of the slain president, had been gunned down while running for president himself, and many Americans believed the country was falling apart. So there you have it. That happened exactly fifty seven years ago on June fifth, nineteen sixty eight, in a very sad time in American history.

But forty two years old, which is not a older.
