Part Two | Welfare Check: The Murder of Tiara Burch

Part Two | Welfare Check: The Murder of Tiara Burch
Part Two of Two Part Series In January 2022, a welfare check at a quiet apartment on 11th Street NW in Canton, Ohio, uncovered a brutal scene. 26-year-old Tiara Janae Burch was found unresponsive on the floor of her home. She had been stabbed multiple times. What began as a routine call quickly became a homicide investigation that would expose a calculated break-in, robbery, and killing.

00:00:06.120 --> 00:00:09.119
Welcome to Unspeakable, a true crime podcast. Or I tell

2
00:00:09.160 --> 00:00:12.480
stories of real crimes with real victims whose cases are

3
00:00:12.519 --> 00:00:15.080
so shocking that many are left wondering how is this

4
00:00:15.199 --> 00:00:24.920
even real? I use my experiences in law enforcement corrections,

5
00:00:25.239 --> 00:00:28.000
and combined with my years as a criminal justice educator,

6
00:00:28.160 --> 00:00:31.719
dig deep into complex cases of evil acts, some so

7
00:00:31.920 --> 00:00:52.679
evil many feel they are unspeakable. Warning. Unspeakable as intended

8
00:00:52.719 --> 00:00:55.719
for mature audiences. If you are easily offended, then I'm

9
00:00:55.719 --> 00:00:59.600
not your girl. Listening discretion is advised. Hey, y'allj You're

10
00:00:59.640 --> 00:01:02.640
back with part two and the conclusion of the Tierra

11
00:01:02.759 --> 00:01:06.239
Birch saga that I started last week. Before I get started, though,

12
00:01:06.239 --> 00:01:07.840
I got to do a couple of shout outs here,

13
00:01:07.879 --> 00:01:10.439
and I was so happy to see this name right

14
00:01:10.480 --> 00:01:13.640
here in Denim Springs, Louisiana. We've got miss Mallory Sibley.

15
00:01:13.719 --> 00:01:16.359
And Mallory I think I taught you now if there's

16
00:01:16.400 --> 00:01:18.760
another Mallory Sibley and I'm wrong, girl, I'm so sorry,

17
00:01:18.799 --> 00:01:21.079
but I think that this is the same one I'm

18
00:01:21.120 --> 00:01:23.000
waving to you on the camera. I hope that you

19
00:01:23.000 --> 00:01:25.840
are doing well and that you're you're making all your

20
00:01:25.879 --> 00:01:28.959
dreams come true a young adult and that it's been

21
00:01:29.000 --> 00:01:31.159
a few years, but I'm just I'm happy to see

22
00:01:31.200 --> 00:01:34.200
everybody thriving and to know that you're supporting the show.

23
00:01:34.200 --> 00:01:36.079
So thank you so much. And like I said, I'm

24
00:01:36.079 --> 00:01:39.159
waving to you on camera, and then from Belleville, Texas,

25
00:01:39.200 --> 00:01:42.120
I've got miss Kim Peters. Hey Kim, what is happening

26
00:01:42.519 --> 00:01:44.239
in your neck of the woods. I hope that things

27
00:01:44.239 --> 00:01:46.359
are going well. I'm waving to you on the camera.

28
00:01:46.599 --> 00:01:50.000
I appreciate you more than you know. Y'all support means everything,

29
00:01:50.359 --> 00:01:54.480
and I think that this conclusion today on this Wild

30
00:01:54.560 --> 00:01:57.879
Story is gonna be one that you will appreciate. So

31
00:01:58.319 --> 00:02:01.200
we left off last week with the of Tiera Birch

32
00:02:01.319 --> 00:02:04.599
and what seemed to be an obvious suspect when it

33
00:02:04.640 --> 00:02:07.400
started out was her boyfriend. His name was Vincent, and

34
00:02:07.439 --> 00:02:10.199
we covered the fact that he had a violent history

35
00:02:10.520 --> 00:02:15.039
insofar as there being domestic violence reports that had been

36
00:02:15.080 --> 00:02:18.599
filed and he was supposedly the aggressor of these domestic

37
00:02:18.680 --> 00:02:22.840
violence incidences and he was already in jail, but it

38
00:02:22.879 --> 00:02:26.039
was quickly realized that he couldn't have been the killer

39
00:02:26.080 --> 00:02:29.120
because he was locked up whenever Tierra's life was brutally

40
00:02:29.199 --> 00:02:32.919
taken from her in her apartment, and it was so personal.

41
00:02:32.960 --> 00:02:35.639
If you remember, she was attacked, she was beaten, and

42
00:02:35.680 --> 00:02:40.360
she succumbed to her injuries after one hellacious knife attack

43
00:02:40.680 --> 00:02:45.639
and a very very strong fight for her life, but

44
00:02:45.759 --> 00:02:49.639
she just couldn't make it. Over fifty seven stab wounds

45
00:02:49.639 --> 00:02:52.960
are what she endured. And then when her boyfriend was

46
00:02:53.039 --> 00:02:55.680
tracked down in the jail, he started making those wild

47
00:02:55.759 --> 00:02:58.000
claims that this was all a setup and that he

48
00:02:58.039 --> 00:03:00.759
had nothing to do with it. It out by saying

49
00:03:00.759 --> 00:03:03.080
he was locked up on a bad charge. He said

50
00:03:03.080 --> 00:03:05.319
that the burglary he was in jail for at the

51
00:03:05.360 --> 00:03:07.960
moment never happened, and then he went in to explain

52
00:03:08.000 --> 00:03:11.120
that he believed his ex had set him up and

53
00:03:11.120 --> 00:03:14.759
that he didn't burglarize anyone, and now his current girlfriend

54
00:03:15.360 --> 00:03:18.520
was dead. So police were super skeptical, but they listened

55
00:03:18.840 --> 00:03:21.439
when Vincent gave those names, the police followed up and

56
00:03:21.560 --> 00:03:24.120
sure enough, his ex's name was the one on the

57
00:03:24.120 --> 00:03:28.639
burglary report, but whenever contacted, she said that she never

58
00:03:28.680 --> 00:03:30.919
made that report, and when they looked at the surveillance

59
00:03:31.000 --> 00:03:33.800
video at the police station that would confirm that she

60
00:03:34.159 --> 00:03:37.360
was not the one who was there in person making

61
00:03:37.360 --> 00:03:40.759
that report. It was confirmed to be an impostor posing

62
00:03:40.800 --> 00:03:44.719
as her, along with another man that was idd as

63
00:03:44.919 --> 00:03:48.000
Jeffrey James. So, y'all always ask me in the messages,

64
00:03:48.039 --> 00:03:49.960
can you give us a quick recap there? It is

65
00:03:50.159 --> 00:03:53.319
I hope that sparks your memory. Now speaking with jeff

66
00:03:54.120 --> 00:03:57.280
he stuck at first with the report that he gave

67
00:03:57.599 --> 00:03:59.400
about oh yeah, there was a burglary, But then he

68
00:03:59.439 --> 00:04:03.400
quickly came and he admitted that it was a false

69
00:04:03.520 --> 00:04:06.520
police report. He had agreed to file the report with

70
00:04:06.599 --> 00:04:10.240
his friends against Vincent, and then his friends were identified

71
00:04:10.280 --> 00:04:15.120
as his roommate Jamal Bullock and a female named Asia Lindsay.

72
00:04:15.439 --> 00:04:19.160
Now they were friends and they had worked together at

73
00:04:19.199 --> 00:04:22.720
a meat processing facility, so that is where the connection

74
00:04:22.879 --> 00:04:27.759
between all of them was pretty much established. Asia was

75
00:04:27.920 --> 00:04:31.600
another ex of Vincent, but she was super disgruntled and

76
00:04:31.639 --> 00:04:34.560
so the report was filed as a way to get

77
00:04:34.600 --> 00:04:38.839
back at him after their toxic breakup. So police now

78
00:04:38.879 --> 00:04:43.319
focused their attention back on Tierra's murder after what they

79
00:04:43.399 --> 00:04:46.560
felt like was basically a huge waste of their time

80
00:04:46.600 --> 00:04:50.319
and that whole fake police report to Bakri and everything

81
00:04:50.360 --> 00:04:53.920
that I just described to you. Meanwhile, on the very

82
00:04:54.040 --> 00:04:57.160
night of the murder when it took place, Tiera's dad,

83
00:04:57.199 --> 00:05:00.519
if you remember, had gotten a text after her body

84
00:05:00.600 --> 00:05:03.079
was found, and it was from his daughter's cell phone

85
00:05:03.319 --> 00:05:06.519
saying sorry about your daughter. Know the game. So police

86
00:05:06.560 --> 00:05:08.399
were trying to track down that phone, and that's when

87
00:05:08.399 --> 00:05:12.959
they noticed a yellow hatchback in multiple surveillance videos, and

88
00:05:13.040 --> 00:05:15.399
the phone was pinging off of these towers, and that's

89
00:05:15.439 --> 00:05:17.399
how they were able to locate where they should look

90
00:05:17.399 --> 00:05:20.680
in what cameras they should focus on, and so that

91
00:05:20.879 --> 00:05:25.399
yellow Ford focus hatchback was now the main focus of

92
00:05:25.480 --> 00:05:30.360
their investigation. Now, looking closely at the car, it wasn't

93
00:05:30.399 --> 00:05:34.240
one that would blend in with the surrounding traffic. It

94
00:05:34.319 --> 00:05:38.519
was bright, it was ugly, it was this neon yellow

95
00:05:39.040 --> 00:05:43.639
Ford focus hatchback. And that side stripe on it, it

96
00:05:43.680 --> 00:05:46.240
was this black sort of stripe going down it not

97
00:05:46.279 --> 00:05:48.120
a real thin one either, was kind of a thicker

98
00:05:49.439 --> 00:05:53.560
stripe on the side door. There was no question because

99
00:05:53.600 --> 00:05:55.879
of all of these little things that made this car

100
00:05:55.959 --> 00:05:59.680
so so easy to pick out, that this was the

101
00:05:59.759 --> 00:06:05.079
same car in every video that they saw. Following the

102
00:06:05.120 --> 00:06:08.680
path of that vehicle. In correlation to the phone records

103
00:06:09.040 --> 00:06:11.920
and the tower connections, the car was found to have

104
00:06:11.959 --> 00:06:17.360
been in close proximity to Tiera's apartment. So, scouring video

105
00:06:17.759 --> 00:06:22.079
after video after video and camera after camera, police would

106
00:06:22.079 --> 00:06:27.040
eventually hit pay dirt because that same yellow hatchback was

107
00:06:27.079 --> 00:06:31.199
seen creeping in the darkness around three forty eight am

108
00:06:31.519 --> 00:06:36.480
in the general area of Tiera's apartment, and following it

109
00:06:36.959 --> 00:06:40.839
police would find that it eventually came to stop and

110
00:06:41.000 --> 00:06:46.120
parked just a block away from Tiera's front door. Now,

111
00:06:46.160 --> 00:06:47.839
when I say following it, you know, I don't mean

112
00:06:47.839 --> 00:06:50.959
physically following it. I mean following it on cameras that

113
00:06:51.000 --> 00:06:53.959
they could locate along the path that it was believed

114
00:06:54.000 --> 00:06:59.680
to have gone. So, watching this video, two people were

115
00:06:59.680 --> 00:07:04.800
seen moving in the darkness towards Tierra's apartment before coming

116
00:07:04.879 --> 00:07:09.120
back to the car. The suspects were carrying laundry baskets

117
00:07:09.360 --> 00:07:12.800
when they returned from the apartment, and it was full

118
00:07:12.839 --> 00:07:17.199
of items. But it wasn't just one trip that they made.

119
00:07:17.279 --> 00:07:20.160
It was multiple and as time passed they would go

120
00:07:20.279 --> 00:07:24.120
back and forth and back and forth, each time with

121
00:07:24.360 --> 00:07:29.319
laundry baskets full of items. Now, the images as the

122
00:07:29.319 --> 00:07:33.560
story always goes, were blurry and the camera quality was

123
00:07:33.639 --> 00:07:38.079
really really poor, So because of this, the license plate

124
00:07:38.120 --> 00:07:40.959
on the back of the car was not readily seen.

125
00:07:41.040 --> 00:07:43.839
It wasn't easy to even make out. It was that blurry.

126
00:07:43.879 --> 00:07:46.800
Plus it had been snowing, and the conditions just weren't

127
00:07:46.920 --> 00:07:51.720
very very clear now looking though at the suspects, one

128
00:07:51.759 --> 00:07:55.519
of them was much larger than the other one, but

129
00:07:55.639 --> 00:08:00.839
the sex of either one wasn't necessarily clear just looking

130
00:08:00.879 --> 00:08:04.199
at them. But eventually, as they're going back and forth

131
00:08:04.240 --> 00:08:07.040
and back and forth, the sun would come up and

132
00:08:07.120 --> 00:08:10.879
the suspects were now more visible near the car, yet

133
00:08:11.040 --> 00:08:15.519
still too blurry to make out, but the sun did help. Okay,

134
00:08:15.439 --> 00:08:18.079
they could make out just a little bit more. And

135
00:08:18.160 --> 00:08:23.079
the laundry baskets were really interesting because if you remember

136
00:08:23.079 --> 00:08:26.240
in part one, Tiera's dad had mentioned to police that

137
00:08:26.319 --> 00:08:29.079
the neighbors said that they had seen someone going from

138
00:08:29.120 --> 00:08:33.279
her apartment in the early morning hours, and if they

139
00:08:33.279 --> 00:08:37.360
were taking things from her apartment in the laundry baskets,

140
00:08:37.960 --> 00:08:42.399
then that would mean that Tiera was likely not stopping them.

141
00:08:43.360 --> 00:08:46.639
But if that is the case, then that would be

142
00:08:46.639 --> 00:08:52.679
because she probably wasn't able to stop them so, taking

143
00:08:52.720 --> 00:08:56.440
all of this into account, this meant to detectives that

144
00:08:56.799 --> 00:09:01.399
Tierra was probably already dead. And if that was the case,

145
00:09:02.120 --> 00:09:06.039
and they've been seeing these suspects go back and forth

146
00:09:06.440 --> 00:09:10.080
from Tierra's apartment with laundry baskets full of things, and

147
00:09:10.559 --> 00:09:12.600
that would mean that she was already dead because she

148
00:09:12.679 --> 00:09:19.120
wasn't stopping them. Then that raised a huge question. How

149
00:09:19.519 --> 00:09:23.840
could Tiera have sent her father any text messages about

150
00:09:23.879 --> 00:09:29.399
having COVID that morning? Was it possible that maybe this

151
00:09:29.559 --> 00:09:33.360
was a desperate attempt by Tiera to contact her father

152
00:09:33.600 --> 00:09:37.360
through silent text messaging, But if that was something she

153
00:09:37.360 --> 00:09:39.840
had been trying to do, why would she say she

154
00:09:39.919 --> 00:09:43.039
had COVID with her one chance that she had to

155
00:09:43.120 --> 00:09:46.120
contact him? If that theory was even correct, why not

156
00:09:46.320 --> 00:09:50.000
send a message that says Dad help. And that's when

157
00:09:50.039 --> 00:09:54.399
the realization became very clear it had not been Tiera

158
00:09:55.120 --> 00:10:00.440
sending her text messages from her phone at all that day.

159
00:10:00.879 --> 00:10:05.679
The apartment had signs and smells that a cleanup had

160
00:10:05.720 --> 00:10:09.759
been attempted, and this meant that the killer was comfortable

161
00:10:09.799 --> 00:10:12.679
taking the time to clean up. Now, Kelly, what do

162
00:10:12.720 --> 00:10:15.000
you mean by the signs and the smells I'm talking bleach,

163
00:10:15.440 --> 00:10:20.360
I'm talking cleaner. So police, now we're moving into a

164
00:10:20.399 --> 00:10:24.759
different theory. They believed that the text message the morning

165
00:10:25.840 --> 00:10:29.519
that was sent to Tiera's daddy had actually been her

166
00:10:29.679 --> 00:10:34.559
killer posing as her. So not only had the killer

167
00:10:34.639 --> 00:10:39.440
been taunting her father after her death that evening, but

168
00:10:39.559 --> 00:10:42.840
also the COVID message that was sent the early morning,

169
00:10:42.879 --> 00:10:46.240
hours before her body had ever been found, that had

170
00:10:46.240 --> 00:10:51.039
to be the killer. It wasn't even his daughter. The

171
00:10:51.159 --> 00:10:53.600
reason the COVID message would have been sent because you

172
00:10:53.639 --> 00:10:56.080
have to think this was in the throes of COVID

173
00:10:56.440 --> 00:10:58.919
when people didn't know how bad it was going to

174
00:10:58.960 --> 00:11:01.799
be and how it was going to people. So if

175
00:11:01.960 --> 00:11:05.159
the killer sent a message saying, Daddy, I have COVID.

176
00:11:05.200 --> 00:11:08.440
I don't feel good, that would mean that her dad

177
00:11:08.679 --> 00:11:12.360
or friends or family or anyone that may love her

178
00:11:12.440 --> 00:11:16.799
or come to visit would presumably have stayed away from

179
00:11:16.879 --> 00:11:20.879
the apartment. And that made sense because this would have

180
00:11:20.919 --> 00:11:24.919
given the killers time to clean up after, of course

181
00:11:25.000 --> 00:11:27.240
killing her. They killed her, they were able to clean up,

182
00:11:27.720 --> 00:11:29.919
they were able to take their time and get what

183
00:11:29.960 --> 00:11:35.039
they wanted. But also this would presumptively delay the finding

184
00:11:35.440 --> 00:11:38.240
of the body because if people thought she was contagious,

185
00:11:38.519 --> 00:11:41.399
they wouldn't be running over to that apartment to catch it.

186
00:11:43.039 --> 00:11:46.840
Tierra's dad had been duped from the start, and the

187
00:11:46.960 --> 00:11:51.000
neighbors were now believed to have seen the actual killers

188
00:11:51.519 --> 00:11:54.000
as they were moving back and forth. The killers were

189
00:11:54.039 --> 00:11:59.279
being seen in action without anyone even realizing it. So

190
00:11:59.360 --> 00:12:02.519
while this was a whole lot to handle, certainly a

191
00:12:02.559 --> 00:12:06.559
bunch to process, I mean, the cruelty and the deviance

192
00:12:06.600 --> 00:12:10.360
of it all, there was some good news in terms

193
00:12:10.399 --> 00:12:13.960
of the investigation when this was realized as to what

194
00:12:14.120 --> 00:12:17.600
was going on, and that's because the killers were still

195
00:12:18.000 --> 00:12:21.759
using the cell phone. Now I'm not saying necessarily making

196
00:12:21.799 --> 00:12:24.440
calls and talking to people, but they at least had

197
00:12:24.480 --> 00:12:27.200
the cell phone powered on, and if they had the

198
00:12:27.200 --> 00:12:31.679
phone powered on, then that made it traceable. So looking

199
00:12:31.720 --> 00:12:35.000
at all of the footage and focusing in on that,

200
00:12:35.039 --> 00:12:39.279
they were really interested in the killers walking back and

201
00:12:39.320 --> 00:12:42.600
forth from Tierra's apartment to the car, because at first,

202
00:12:42.639 --> 00:12:44.559
like I told you, it was dark, but when the

203
00:12:44.600 --> 00:12:49.120
sun rose, that footage in those cameras made even things

204
00:12:49.120 --> 00:12:53.960
that weren't necessarily crystal clear much easier to make out.

205
00:12:54.440 --> 00:12:59.200
So the faces of these two suspects were kept covered

206
00:12:59.240 --> 00:13:01.960
the entire time. That was not helped. They had their

207
00:13:02.000 --> 00:13:05.440
hoodies up, and you know, they were clearly blocking their

208
00:13:05.440 --> 00:13:08.519
faces while they were moving back and forth, so faces

209
00:13:08.519 --> 00:13:12.440
weren't able to be picked out, and any identifying features

210
00:13:12.440 --> 00:13:16.559
of that, they couldn't pick anything up, but focusing hard

211
00:13:16.879 --> 00:13:20.240
on the suspects and looking for anything else that maybe

212
00:13:20.519 --> 00:13:23.879
could help to identify them. Detectives were zooming in and

213
00:13:23.919 --> 00:13:27.240
looking at the clothing, and that's when the clothing of

214
00:13:27.320 --> 00:13:30.720
one of the suspects really stood out. But it wasn't

215
00:13:30.840 --> 00:13:34.039
like the pants or anything. It was the shoes that

216
00:13:34.120 --> 00:13:37.440
this person was wearing, because they were very clearly black

217
00:13:37.559 --> 00:13:41.279
nikes with a white swoosh on the side of them.

218
00:13:41.720 --> 00:13:43.559
The shoes were cool, I guess, if you want to

219
00:13:43.600 --> 00:13:46.480
look at it that way, And it didn't necessarily mean

220
00:13:46.600 --> 00:13:50.399
much in that exact moment, but detectives did note this

221
00:13:50.679 --> 00:13:52.960
in their reports, that those were the shoes that this

222
00:13:53.039 --> 00:13:54.799
person was clearly wearing.

223
00:13:55.759 --> 00:13:55.919
Well.

224
00:13:56.039 --> 00:13:59.600
Vincent Tierra's boyfriend, he was out of jail at this

225
00:13:59.720 --> 00:14:05.039
point and very much still devastated over her death, and

226
00:14:05.080 --> 00:14:08.799
he was adamant that he had nothing to do with

227
00:14:08.879 --> 00:14:13.240
her murder and he was wanting to attend her funeral. Okay,

228
00:14:13.320 --> 00:14:15.720
he wasn't just going to walk away from this. He

229
00:14:15.799 --> 00:14:19.559
wanted to go to the funeral. But unfortunately, while he

230
00:14:19.600 --> 00:14:23.440
had been somewhat cleared by police as being the physical killer,

231
00:14:24.440 --> 00:14:30.039
the men in Tierra's family weren't so convinced that he

232
00:14:30.080 --> 00:14:33.600
didn't have anything to do with it, and without specifically

233
00:14:33.639 --> 00:14:37.360
stating it to him, it was made pretty clear to

234
00:14:37.440 --> 00:14:41.159
him that he was not welcome at the funeral service.

235
00:14:41.960 --> 00:14:46.679
So the service was held. It was beautiful, while overwhelmingly sad,

236
00:14:47.639 --> 00:14:52.799
but Vincent said his goodbyes from Afar while Tierra's family

237
00:14:53.440 --> 00:14:59.919
grieved together at the service. Everyone was hurting, every one

238
00:15:00.080 --> 00:15:06.240
one was heartbroken, and everyone was still suspicious of everyone else.

239
00:15:06.559 --> 00:15:11.519
With no killer in custody, very suspicious circumstances, no face

240
00:15:11.559 --> 00:15:15.519
to this killer or killers, and nobody in custody, you

241
00:15:15.600 --> 00:15:21.000
can understand why everyone was scrutinizing everything, especially a boyfriend

242
00:15:21.039 --> 00:15:26.480
with domestic violence in his past. Now, Vincent still believed

243
00:15:26.519 --> 00:15:29.679
that his ex girlfriend had something to do with Tiera's murder,

244
00:15:29.960 --> 00:15:33.600
but motive and link that was something that had to

245
00:15:33.639 --> 00:15:35.879
be made here. I mean, you can't just be pointing

246
00:15:35.919 --> 00:15:38.240
fingers and saying, oh, well, my ex is a bad person. Look,

247
00:15:38.320 --> 00:15:41.120
she made this bad police report on me. But I

248
00:15:41.159 --> 00:15:43.960
still think she's also capable of murder. Like that's a

249
00:15:44.000 --> 00:15:49.679
pretty big leap there. So, looking further into Tierra's life, Okay,

250
00:15:49.720 --> 00:15:53.080
what more might her her life be able to tell

251
00:15:53.120 --> 00:15:56.840
detectives about her? They found that she did hold steady

252
00:15:56.879 --> 00:16:00.799
employment and this was at a local processing plant, fresh Mark,

253
00:16:01.159 --> 00:16:05.600
where she worked with machinery. And so fresh Mark was

254
00:16:05.759 --> 00:16:10.440
a supplier of meats, things like bacon, ham, hot dogs, pepperoni,

255
00:16:10.879 --> 00:16:14.200
sliced meats. It was a processing plant for this. And

256
00:16:14.519 --> 00:16:17.399
there was something that had happened at the plant that

257
00:16:17.480 --> 00:16:20.360
you might be interested in, and that was that just

258
00:16:20.480 --> 00:16:24.559
a few weeks before Tierra was murdered, she had had

259
00:16:24.600 --> 00:16:28.879
an accident on the processing floor where a piece of

260
00:16:28.960 --> 00:16:32.039
machinery had injured her. And it wasn't like a paper

261
00:16:32.039 --> 00:16:35.039
cut or anything like that. A piece of the machinery

262
00:16:35.080 --> 00:16:37.720
had come loose and it had flown off of the

263
00:16:37.720 --> 00:16:42.279
machine and it struck Tierra straight in the face. Okay, Now,

264
00:16:42.399 --> 00:16:44.879
like I said, this was in December. She was killed

265
00:16:44.919 --> 00:16:49.600
in January. But luckily when that happened, another coworker that

266
00:16:49.720 --> 00:16:52.320
was there and on the floor rushed over to help

267
00:16:52.320 --> 00:16:55.720
her whenever he noticed that her face had been busted

268
00:16:56.200 --> 00:16:59.080
and he could see very quickly, Oh, she really is hurt.

269
00:16:59.240 --> 00:17:01.799
This is not just she fell down and she was

270
00:17:01.879 --> 00:17:03.679
hurt so much so that she needed to go to

271
00:17:03.720 --> 00:17:06.920
the nurses station that was at the facility. So he

272
00:17:07.039 --> 00:17:09.359
got her up off the floor and even helped her

273
00:17:09.599 --> 00:17:12.519
to the nurses station. Now, when she got there, her

274
00:17:12.559 --> 00:17:15.599
lip was busted. You know, she was rattled a pretty

275
00:17:15.599 --> 00:17:18.000
good bit, but it was bad enough that she also

276
00:17:18.039 --> 00:17:20.960
needed a few stitches. I believe the stitches were in

277
00:17:21.000 --> 00:17:24.319
her lip or they were her face. But it hurt, Okay,

278
00:17:24.359 --> 00:17:27.319
it was. It was a pretty decent injury. And the

279
00:17:27.359 --> 00:17:31.559
guy that had helped her up was a really nice guy. Okay,

280
00:17:32.440 --> 00:17:35.920
he even thought that Tiera was cute, which that's nice.

281
00:17:35.920 --> 00:17:37.200
He got to run over and kind of be her

282
00:17:37.279 --> 00:17:44.680
night in shining armor. But she had also, after this injury,

283
00:17:45.319 --> 00:17:48.519
gotten asked out by this guy that helped her to

284
00:17:48.559 --> 00:17:53.599
the nurses station. But Tiera had to turn the guy down. Okay,

285
00:17:53.920 --> 00:17:56.960
she wasn't interested. Thank you, but no thank you. And

286
00:17:57.200 --> 00:18:00.160
she was very clear after that incident had happened, and

287
00:18:00.319 --> 00:18:03.039
when she told her mama, the reason that she wasn't

288
00:18:03.079 --> 00:18:06.519
interested was because his breast stank, and that's what she

289
00:18:06.599 --> 00:18:08.319
told her mama, I'm not going out with that dude.

290
00:18:08.400 --> 00:18:10.880
His breath stank and it's kind of pitiful, right. This

291
00:18:11.039 --> 00:18:13.559
guy's trying to be nice and help, but the breath

292
00:18:13.640 --> 00:18:15.759
was too much and Tiera wouldn't have in that. Tiera

293
00:18:16.200 --> 00:18:18.599
was the girl that was always covered in her different

294
00:18:18.680 --> 00:18:22.119
sprays and her perfumes and mints and being a pressy

295
00:18:22.160 --> 00:18:26.039
little lady and stanky breath wasn't gonna work. But Tiera

296
00:18:26.319 --> 00:18:32.119
also worked with Vincent okay, the boyfriend, and their interest

297
00:18:32.200 --> 00:18:36.319
in one another had resulted in them dating instead of

298
00:18:36.839 --> 00:18:41.119
a romance with with stanky breath dude. So workplace love,

299
00:18:41.200 --> 00:18:44.799
workplace drama. It happens everywhere, But none of this was

300
00:18:44.839 --> 00:18:49.680
believed to play a role in her death. Vincent's claimed though,

301
00:18:49.799 --> 00:18:53.680
that his ex may have been involved in Tierra's death.

302
00:18:54.559 --> 00:18:57.839
It really did get the detectives thinking because they didn't

303
00:18:57.880 --> 00:19:02.559
have any other leads that were just obvious or in

304
00:19:02.599 --> 00:19:08.079
their face, and the fact that Asia Vincent's x had

305
00:19:08.119 --> 00:19:11.480
filed a false police report against him. Not only that

306
00:19:11.559 --> 00:19:14.880
but was also willing to involve two other people in

307
00:19:14.960 --> 00:19:19.079
the process of breaking the law and setting somebody up.

308
00:19:19.519 --> 00:19:22.000
It really just got them thinking, you know, she really

309
00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:25.160
isn't that grade of a person to have done that.

310
00:19:26.039 --> 00:19:30.279
But Asia also didn't come off as someone who was

311
00:19:30.759 --> 00:19:33.519
super violent either. A matter of fact, I want to

312
00:19:33.559 --> 00:19:36.960
give you this little side note. She had recently been

313
00:19:37.039 --> 00:19:40.480
featured on the news because Asia came out of her

314
00:19:40.480 --> 00:19:43.599
own house and when she did that, she had stumbled

315
00:19:43.680 --> 00:19:48.200
upon a dead body as she was driving down the road. Okay,

316
00:19:48.240 --> 00:19:52.279
so she thought it bad enough, Oh my god, here's

317
00:19:52.319 --> 00:19:55.319
this guy to call the police, because you don't just

318
00:19:55.319 --> 00:19:59.079
come across dead bodies every day. So here's that uncut

319
00:19:59.599 --> 00:20:01.319
news interview with Asia.

320
00:20:01.640 --> 00:20:04.200
I started, I was coming home from the mixer. I

321
00:20:04.240 --> 00:20:06.119
turned down this alley cause I can turn down this

322
00:20:06.160 --> 00:20:07.960
alley to get to my house. It's a different way.

323
00:20:08.359 --> 00:20:11.000
And pretty much when I did that, that's when I

324
00:20:11.079 --> 00:20:13.039
came upon the body and I noticed, and I talked,

325
00:20:13.079 --> 00:20:15.559
like I said, I thought the guy was sleep drunk

326
00:20:15.640 --> 00:20:17.519
and an alley passed out, So I yelled to him, hey,

327
00:20:17.559 --> 00:20:19.960
get up, and he didn't respond. I even blew the horn.

328
00:20:20.079 --> 00:20:23.400
No response. So therefore, I drove down and I backed

329
00:20:23.440 --> 00:20:25.759
out and I pulled back in to realize his head

330
00:20:25.839 --> 00:20:28.599
is bleeding and he is you could see his spine

331
00:20:28.680 --> 00:20:30.400
and it looked like, like I promise, it looked like

332
00:20:30.400 --> 00:20:33.400
someone took something, just like ripped right up him. I

333
00:20:33.440 --> 00:20:36.240
called the police, and I freaked out. I was freaking out.

334
00:20:36.279 --> 00:20:38.480
I was crying. I was hysterical, and I mean, you

335
00:20:38.480 --> 00:20:41.039
don't just wake up to a dead body every day,

336
00:20:41.079 --> 00:20:44.559
you know, And it was just I don't know. I called.

337
00:20:44.640 --> 00:20:46.359
Then after I called the police, I called my my

338
00:20:46.440 --> 00:20:49.079
friend and I called my boyfriend, and then they every

339
00:20:49.200 --> 00:20:52.119
they were here like that, like like you know what

340
00:20:52.160 --> 00:20:53.640
I'm saying, Like I sent me and my boyfriend just

341
00:20:53.680 --> 00:20:55.400
got a house in this neighborhood, and this is like

342
00:20:55.440 --> 00:20:58.000
not a good welcome to the neighborhood type thing. You know.

343
00:20:58.039 --> 00:21:01.440
I thought I moved to a nice neighborhood, but yeah,

344
00:21:01.519 --> 00:21:04.160
this is not I don't know if this isn't welcome me.

345
00:21:05.039 --> 00:21:06.640
And then this morning my kids had to wake up

346
00:21:06.640 --> 00:21:14.720
to police at our house. So yeah, any neighbors are wife, No,

347
00:21:14.720 --> 00:21:16.880
no one was out here. It was like a couple

348
00:21:16.920 --> 00:21:18.799
of people, but for the most part, nobody was out

349
00:21:18.839 --> 00:21:24.400
here at all, and it was sad. It's very sad

350
00:21:24.480 --> 00:21:26.920
cause I mean, that's that's somebody's son, that could be

351
00:21:26.920 --> 00:21:30.400
somebody's dad, and uh, for someone to do something like that,

352
00:21:30.559 --> 00:21:33.440
it's just like man like people really don't have hearts.

353
00:21:33.960 --> 00:21:35.599
And then you think about it. People are here being

354
00:21:35.680 --> 00:21:39.039
childish and acting like three and four year olds for nothing,

355
00:21:39.440 --> 00:21:41.640
and this is ultimately where all that ends up to

356
00:21:41.759 --> 00:21:44.240
moments like these. And this coulda been a sheer accident,

357
00:21:44.279 --> 00:21:52.640
you know, pure accident, but still it's sad, it's hurtful, yeah, right,

358
00:21:52.880 --> 00:21:55.279
And then that's what everyone was like, Well, why did

359
00:21:55.319 --> 00:21:58.119
you call the police cause there's a body in the street?

360
00:21:58.880 --> 00:22:01.599
You mean, why I call a plice? And I'm just

361
00:22:01.640 --> 00:22:04.599
seven now for that way with a cry again, I'm

362
00:22:04.680 --> 00:22:05.079
right there.

363
00:22:05.400 --> 00:22:08.640
So listening to what she had to say to that reporter,

364
00:22:08.720 --> 00:22:11.920
I'd have to say that Asia was right. That poor

365
00:22:11.960 --> 00:22:15.079
guy that she found could have been someone's father, It

366
00:22:15.119 --> 00:22:18.480
could have been someone's son, and it was okay, there's

367
00:22:18.519 --> 00:22:21.920
no it could have been it was someone's loved one

368
00:22:22.440 --> 00:22:25.240
that she had just found. And this guy's just displayed

369
00:22:25.240 --> 00:22:30.039
out on the ground discarded like trash. Who does that?

370
00:22:30.640 --> 00:22:33.960
Who does that to another person? Asia. By the way,

371
00:22:34.359 --> 00:22:38.000
she was a mother herself of not one, not two,

372
00:22:38.799 --> 00:22:43.880
not three, not four, but five kids. She had five

373
00:22:44.000 --> 00:22:47.000
youngin's at home that she was taking care of. So

374
00:22:47.480 --> 00:22:50.880
the loss of someone you love and seeing someone just

375
00:22:50.960 --> 00:22:54.680
discarded like that isn't something that should have been lost

376
00:22:54.720 --> 00:22:56.440
on her. And you could hear it that she was

377
00:22:56.480 --> 00:22:58.799
just like, my god, she was stunned by finding this guy,

378
00:22:59.839 --> 00:23:02.680
but limited on suspects. Okay, guys, when you're limited, you

379
00:23:02.759 --> 00:23:05.480
gotta go down any avenue you can because you never

380
00:23:05.599 --> 00:23:10.440
know what you might find. They decided, the detectives decided

381
00:23:10.440 --> 00:23:14.640
that they wanted to rule out once and for all

382
00:23:14.799 --> 00:23:18.839
what Vincent was claiming here, and so detectives ran Asia's

383
00:23:18.839 --> 00:23:22.920
license along with any vehicles that may have been registered

384
00:23:22.920 --> 00:23:26.559
to her name through the DMV, and so the report

385
00:23:26.599 --> 00:23:29.519
was run and when it came back, Asia's name was

386
00:23:29.599 --> 00:23:35.559
right there listed as was her vehicles, and low and

387
00:23:35.680 --> 00:23:40.240
frickin behold, if Asia was not listed as the registered

388
00:23:40.319 --> 00:23:47.640
owner of a yellow Ford Hatchback, are you serious? You

389
00:23:47.759 --> 00:23:50.680
know that that had to be a shock to these detectives.

390
00:23:50.680 --> 00:23:53.519
There's no freaking way, there is no freaking way that

391
00:23:53.519 --> 00:23:55.920
that just happened. But y'all, it was true. And I'm

392
00:23:55.920 --> 00:23:58.519
going to tell you right now, I believe in being

393
00:23:58.559 --> 00:24:02.000
completely honest, and I'm going to tell you that I

394
00:24:02.079 --> 00:24:05.680
wouldn't have believed Vincent myself. I would not have believed

395
00:24:05.759 --> 00:24:08.200
Vincent when he was claiming that his ex was setting

396
00:24:08.279 --> 00:24:12.000
him up in jail, and then to find out that

397
00:24:12.240 --> 00:24:16.000
he was right that his ex also may be driving

398
00:24:16.039 --> 00:24:19.559
the same car as now detectives are seeing on camera

399
00:24:19.640 --> 00:24:23.079
that was close to where Tierra's apartment was. I would

400
00:24:23.079 --> 00:24:25.640
not have believed that as far as you could throw me.

401
00:24:25.720 --> 00:24:29.079
But here we are, and I'm telling you that they

402
00:24:29.279 --> 00:24:33.519
just found her registered to that car. It was not expected. Okay.

403
00:24:34.079 --> 00:24:36.920
So police decided to go back to the footage at

404
00:24:36.920 --> 00:24:40.680
the police station, the police station whenever that false report

405
00:24:40.799 --> 00:24:44.559
was being filed, and they watched that again over and

406
00:24:44.720 --> 00:24:48.640
over when something jumped out at them that it first

407
00:24:49.079 --> 00:24:54.079
didn't really matter, and it was the moment that Jamal

408
00:24:54.240 --> 00:24:58.240
had come walking through the lobby pretending to not be

409
00:24:58.359 --> 00:25:00.680
affiliated with the others. Remember Ja Free was the guy

410
00:25:00.799 --> 00:25:02.759
was like, yeah, Jamal was there. And then when they

411
00:25:02.759 --> 00:25:05.079
go look, he walked through pretending like he had nothing

412
00:25:05.119 --> 00:25:09.039
to do with it. But it wasn't Jamal pretending to

413
00:25:09.160 --> 00:25:13.640
not know them that was gathering their attention. It was

414
00:25:13.720 --> 00:25:19.559
his shoes that caught the investigator's eyes, because, unbelievably, he

415
00:25:19.720 --> 00:25:24.279
was wearing black Nikes with a white Nike swoosh, just

416
00:25:24.519 --> 00:25:28.160
like the ones worn by the guy in the videos

417
00:25:28.240 --> 00:25:30.880
or the you know, the unknown in the videos near

418
00:25:30.960 --> 00:25:34.519
Tierra's apartment. And so this really was looking like he

419
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:37.359
might have been involved or possibly one of the killers

420
00:25:37.720 --> 00:25:42.359
in that grainy apartment footage. There was no denying at

421
00:25:42.359 --> 00:25:48.880
this point that despite what Vincent's saying seeming absolutely just outrageous,

422
00:25:49.720 --> 00:25:52.079
they were starting to believe Vincent, and they were now

423
00:25:52.119 --> 00:25:56.119
believing that they really may have Tiarra's killers. But where

424
00:25:56.160 --> 00:26:00.680
were they now and why would they want to hurt Tierra?

425
00:26:00.960 --> 00:26:03.920
Because you have to think about it, she wasn't affiliated

426
00:26:03.960 --> 00:26:09.880
with Asia at all. Vincent was, but not Tierra. Vincent

427
00:26:10.960 --> 00:26:16.319
was the only so called link between them, and the

428
00:26:16.359 --> 00:26:18.119
only reason there was a link there was because she

429
00:26:18.160 --> 00:26:20.920
had dated him in the past, and they were dating

430
00:26:20.920 --> 00:26:24.559
the same guy, but at different times. Plus got to

431
00:26:24.559 --> 00:26:27.759
bring this back up again, there were two people involved

432
00:26:28.160 --> 00:26:32.000
in Tierra's murder, and since there were two of them

433
00:26:32.000 --> 00:26:35.640
and it's now pointing at Jamal. What does Jamal have

434
00:26:35.720 --> 00:26:37.880
to do with Tiera? Possibly that he would want to

435
00:26:37.880 --> 00:26:42.920
go be involved in murdering her. So police continued to

436
00:26:43.000 --> 00:26:46.200
search for more camera footage around town, and they were

437
00:26:46.240 --> 00:26:51.400
focusing on like traffic cameras, but also business security footage

438
00:26:51.480 --> 00:26:54.559
that was around the area. I know we talk about

439
00:26:54.720 --> 00:26:58.440
in current times, these flock cameras, these license plate readers,

440
00:26:59.240 --> 00:27:01.440
all of that is at the disposal, and I have

441
00:27:01.480 --> 00:27:03.839
to say, this is a really good example of when

442
00:27:03.880 --> 00:27:08.759
those flock cameras can be very useful when used in

443
00:27:08.759 --> 00:27:11.160
the right capacity, because when they were looking through all

444
00:27:11.200 --> 00:27:14.960
of this, they were able to locate that infamous yellow

445
00:27:15.000 --> 00:27:19.559
hatchback on some of those videos, these traffic cameras, and

446
00:27:19.640 --> 00:27:22.279
if they could get a good shot of the license plate,

447
00:27:22.359 --> 00:27:26.720
that would be huge. But what a massive undertaking that

448
00:27:26.759 --> 00:27:29.559
would be, because just because we know Asia drove a

449
00:27:29.640 --> 00:27:32.000
yellow Hatchback and it was believed that there was this

450
00:27:32.079 --> 00:27:35.960
yellow hatchback at the scene of where Tiera's murder in

451
00:27:36.359 --> 00:27:40.119
close proximity, it doesn't prove that Asia was the one

452
00:27:40.160 --> 00:27:42.759
and that was her car. So they combed through all

453
00:27:42.799 --> 00:27:46.119
of this footage, but eventually the odds were just in

454
00:27:46.200 --> 00:27:51.160
their favor when, without warning, following this path, that yellow

455
00:27:51.200 --> 00:27:54.799
hatchback popped into frame on a camera that was angled

456
00:27:54.960 --> 00:27:59.160
perfectly to capture the license plate number. And when they

457
00:27:59.240 --> 00:28:03.359
ran that licenate holder that license plate number. Sure enough,

458
00:28:03.720 --> 00:28:07.000
if that was the exact same vehicle that was going

459
00:28:07.039 --> 00:28:11.640
down that path owned by none other than Asia lindsay So,

460
00:28:11.759 --> 00:28:16.200
police wasted no time and they set out to find her. Now,

461
00:28:16.240 --> 00:28:20.480
once she was located, police took her into custody without incident.

462
00:28:21.000 --> 00:28:23.359
And as they were doing this, I got to tell you,

463
00:28:23.400 --> 00:28:27.240
Ajia looked like a deer in the headlights. She was

464
00:28:27.359 --> 00:28:31.000
very cordial, but concern you could see it on her face,

465
00:28:31.279 --> 00:28:35.039
and she asked multiple times why was she under arrest?

466
00:28:35.440 --> 00:28:38.440
Why are you arresting me? But officers held off on

467
00:28:38.559 --> 00:28:41.720
telling her for the moment. She was placed in the

468
00:28:41.759 --> 00:28:44.599
back of a car and she was driven down to

469
00:28:44.680 --> 00:28:47.480
the station. Now, during that whole ride and that whole

470
00:28:47.519 --> 00:28:51.480
interaction and her arrest, she kept asking repeatedly was anybody

471
00:28:51.519 --> 00:28:53.759
going to tell her what was going on? She's like,

472
00:28:53.799 --> 00:28:56.680
I'm in the dark, I don't know why I'm in cuffs.

473
00:28:56.799 --> 00:28:58.680
I kind of feel like you should share this with me,

474
00:28:59.480 --> 00:29:02.880
but the cameras were rolling the entire interaction, and the

475
00:29:03.000 --> 00:29:06.960
less that officer said, the more she kept talking and

476
00:29:07.079 --> 00:29:12.400
asking for information. She was compliant, but she was definitely stressed,

477
00:29:12.640 --> 00:29:17.039
and once she was at the station, a detective brought

478
00:29:17.039 --> 00:29:21.240
her into an interrogation room, but very quickly jumped to

479
00:29:21.359 --> 00:29:23.920
the chase. So I'm going to play you some audio

480
00:29:24.079 --> 00:29:28.160
from that interaction at the during the interrogation, so you

481
00:29:28.200 --> 00:29:31.240
can hear how this interaction goes back and forth.

482
00:29:31.480 --> 00:29:34.799
All right, So we have to talk about some stuff

483
00:29:34.799 --> 00:29:35.160
because I.

484
00:29:35.200 --> 00:29:38.160
Think I think that you are able to tell me the.

485
00:29:38.160 --> 00:29:40.720
Truth and I'm not going to say here and lie

486
00:29:40.799 --> 00:29:41.880
to you about anything.

487
00:29:41.920 --> 00:29:44.279
Like you got to understand. One thing about me is

488
00:29:45.880 --> 00:29:48.319
I'm a very very very very honest person.

489
00:29:48.440 --> 00:29:51.640
I've done bad things, okay, and when I've gotten caught,

490
00:29:51.680 --> 00:29:52.400
I never lied.

491
00:29:52.599 --> 00:29:55.160
I told the truth. So there it is. You heard

492
00:29:55.160 --> 00:29:58.200
her say, I've done bad things, but when I am caught,

493
00:29:58.519 --> 00:30:02.039
I always tell the truth. And that is when she

494
00:30:02.160 --> 00:30:06.680
explained why she was seen near Tierra's apartment in the

495
00:30:06.759 --> 00:30:11.319
early morning hours of her murder. She admitted she was there.

496
00:30:11.720 --> 00:30:14.920
She was in the vicinity, and she said, look, I

497
00:30:15.000 --> 00:30:18.680
know it sounds really bad, but I was selling crack.

498
00:30:19.599 --> 00:30:21.839
She said she could make a whole lot more money

499
00:30:21.920 --> 00:30:26.039
doing that than going to work doing a nine to five. Now,

500
00:30:26.960 --> 00:30:30.319
while that is true, okay, that slang and crack is

501
00:30:30.400 --> 00:30:35.079
a lucrative, tax free venture that many suglets partake in.

502
00:30:36.079 --> 00:30:40.079
What are the chances that she was selling crack at

503
00:30:40.079 --> 00:30:43.880
the exact same time that a murder was going down?

504
00:30:45.119 --> 00:30:49.920
So she says, hang here with me, guys, She says, well, actually,

505
00:30:49.960 --> 00:30:53.640
the chances are are pretty high. But when she was

506
00:30:53.720 --> 00:30:58.559
confronted with the video of the laundry baskets of things

507
00:30:58.559 --> 00:31:02.240
that were being brought brought back and forth, that put

508
00:31:02.279 --> 00:31:05.359
a little hitch in her get along. Okay, but not

509
00:31:05.920 --> 00:31:09.599
for long because as she's being told about this video

510
00:31:09.640 --> 00:31:11.480
and like, look, we're pretty sure we got you here

511
00:31:11.519 --> 00:31:16.440
on camera, she was adamant in saying, hold on, just

512
00:31:16.480 --> 00:31:20.839
a second, hold on, y'all can say what you want,

513
00:31:21.000 --> 00:31:24.599
but that ain't me on that video. That is not me.

514
00:31:24.680 --> 00:31:28.079
And the police were like, yeah, okay, sure it is you, Asia,

515
00:31:28.759 --> 00:31:32.880
that's you on camera. But she then broke into a

516
00:31:33.279 --> 00:31:37.359
very detailed story of how she could prove that that

517
00:31:37.599 --> 00:31:41.920
was not her on that camera video. And while this

518
00:31:42.200 --> 00:31:47.279
explanation was really embarrassing for her, she had to admit

519
00:31:47.400 --> 00:31:51.279
that she was actually really kind of a part of

520
00:31:51.319 --> 00:31:55.359
a super freaky subculture. And what I mean by that

521
00:31:55.599 --> 00:31:59.319
is sexually all right, she was into some freaky shit

522
00:32:00.519 --> 00:32:04.359
and part of that was she liked being tied up.

523
00:32:05.240 --> 00:32:11.200
And during these ventures of being tied up, she said,

524
00:32:11.440 --> 00:32:14.640
I was actually tied up at the time that you're

525
00:32:14.680 --> 00:32:17.400
seeing these people walk back and forth in that video.

526
00:32:17.759 --> 00:32:20.039
Not only was I tied up, but I was tied

527
00:32:20.119 --> 00:32:24.319
up in my own basement at my house. So police

528
00:32:24.359 --> 00:32:28.599
are like, why would you be tied up? And she says, well,

529
00:32:28.680 --> 00:32:30.920
if you're not familiar with this, you know, there's a

530
00:32:31.000 --> 00:32:34.279
there's a pretty big group of us that are part

531
00:32:34.359 --> 00:32:38.880
of this role playing sex sex capaide and I like

532
00:32:39.000 --> 00:32:41.480
to do that. I'm a part of that crowd. But

533
00:32:41.519 --> 00:32:43.960
the thing was that I have to do it when

534
00:32:44.000 --> 00:32:46.640
my kids aren't awake. Remember I told you she has

535
00:32:46.720 --> 00:32:49.400
five kids at home, So in order to be able

536
00:32:49.440 --> 00:32:52.359
to get her freak on but her kids not know

537
00:32:52.440 --> 00:32:55.240
anything about it, she did all of this freaky stuff

538
00:32:55.279 --> 00:33:00.960
at night into the early morning hours, and so this

539
00:33:01.160 --> 00:33:03.079
was some shit. She even says this is some shit

540
00:33:03.160 --> 00:33:05.799
I definitely do not want my kids to see, and

541
00:33:05.839 --> 00:33:08.519
I definitely don't want them to find me, you know,

542
00:33:08.640 --> 00:33:12.000
tied up in the middle of my sexcapade. So I've

543
00:33:12.000 --> 00:33:14.440
got to do it when they won't be able to

544
00:33:14.519 --> 00:33:18.640
catch me. So pressing her and really trying to back

545
00:33:18.680 --> 00:33:23.200
her into a corner, she further explained exactly what she

546
00:33:23.359 --> 00:33:26.240
was up to, and part of that was not only

547
00:33:26.359 --> 00:33:28.240
was she tied up, but she said, part of the

548
00:33:28.240 --> 00:33:31.640
freak about it is that she would wear a collar

549
00:33:31.960 --> 00:33:35.599
that had a leash attached to it. That was part

550
00:33:35.599 --> 00:33:37.319
of the gig. That was part of the is you know,

551
00:33:37.440 --> 00:33:40.319
is somebody gonna match my freak? That was part of it.

552
00:33:40.720 --> 00:33:44.440
The sexy part of it was that she couldn't get

553
00:33:44.480 --> 00:33:48.039
away even if she wanted to. And part of the

554
00:33:48.160 --> 00:33:51.880
collar was that it had a timer on it that

555
00:33:51.960 --> 00:33:55.480
would only release when it hit a certain time, and

556
00:33:55.559 --> 00:33:58.839
the time on that collar had been set to six

557
00:33:59.160 --> 00:34:03.160
thirty A. And you and I pretty much know at

558
00:34:03.200 --> 00:34:06.480
this point that that would have been well after Tierra

559
00:34:06.680 --> 00:34:10.000
was already murdered, because the time that the text had

560
00:34:10.000 --> 00:34:14.119
been sent to her father, she would have already been dead.

561
00:34:15.679 --> 00:34:21.199
So while this revelation was crazy and wildly embarrassing. It

562
00:34:21.400 --> 00:34:25.599
just didn't ring true to the detectives because if it

563
00:34:25.760 --> 00:34:27.960
was true, let's just let's humor it and say it

564
00:34:28.119 --> 00:34:30.800
was true that she was on a timer choker tied

565
00:34:30.880 --> 00:34:33.360
up in her basement. Well, then how the hell did

566
00:34:33.400 --> 00:34:38.159
she get home from selling crack? Because that was a

567
00:34:38.199 --> 00:34:41.280
long way she drove there in her car to sell

568
00:34:41.320 --> 00:34:44.719
the crack and then what she left? But what did

569
00:34:44.719 --> 00:34:47.719
you do? You walked home to be tied up? Like?

570
00:34:47.800 --> 00:34:53.039
It just wasn't jiving for detectives. But Asia's story never

571
00:34:53.199 --> 00:34:56.639
changed and she was not budging from what she was

572
00:34:56.679 --> 00:34:59.679
telling them was going on. She also made it very

573
00:34:59.719 --> 00:35:02.599
clear that she did not know Aga personally and that

574
00:35:02.679 --> 00:35:05.480
she had no beef with her. She had no connection

575
00:35:06.320 --> 00:35:10.960
to Tierra other than that link that she had dated Vincent.

576
00:35:11.920 --> 00:35:15.559
So when it was it was suggested by the detectives

577
00:35:16.039 --> 00:35:18.480
that I don't know, man, maybe what if you're just jealous?

578
00:35:18.519 --> 00:35:22.599
What if you were jealous about her in Vincent's relationship,

579
00:35:22.800 --> 00:35:27.280
Asia became very agitated and very offended. It came across

580
00:35:27.360 --> 00:35:30.719
as with that being said to her, and she kind

581
00:35:30.719 --> 00:35:33.559
of leaned back in her chair and was like, that

582
00:35:33.719 --> 00:35:38.000
is total bullshit, and I was glad that Vincent was

583
00:35:38.039 --> 00:35:40.679
gone from my life. We did not get along. That

584
00:35:40.800 --> 00:35:45.280
relationship was not good. I did not want Vincent. So

585
00:35:45.400 --> 00:35:49.880
the following day, because Asia's not budging, I mean, that's

586
00:35:49.920 --> 00:35:53.239
what she's sticking with an adamant she cannot stand Vincent.

587
00:35:54.119 --> 00:35:58.400
The following day, police tracked down Jamal and they brought

588
00:35:58.480 --> 00:36:02.280
him in for questioning because they were curious as to

589
00:36:02.360 --> 00:36:05.679
what his alibi would be for the night of the murder.

590
00:36:06.400 --> 00:36:09.800
But in talking with him, he said, I wasn't with

591
00:36:09.960 --> 00:36:13.440
Asia that night. He said, I wasn't. I was at

592
00:36:13.440 --> 00:36:18.360
home the entire night. I was with other people. I

593
00:36:18.360 --> 00:36:20.679
don't I wasn't hanging out with her to even I

594
00:36:20.679 --> 00:36:22.519
don't know why you're even saying was I with her?

595
00:36:22.880 --> 00:36:26.199
But police weren't buying it, and so they just continued

596
00:36:26.480 --> 00:36:29.239
to apply more and more pressure. But it didn't matter

597
00:36:29.280 --> 00:36:33.639
because he wasn't cracking. He wasn't changing anything about what

598
00:36:33.719 --> 00:36:37.000
he was saying was going on. But police there was

599
00:36:37.039 --> 00:36:40.280
something that they just kept watching. Even though he wasn't

600
00:36:40.360 --> 00:36:43.760
cracking or changing his story. He shared. It seem really

601
00:36:43.920 --> 00:36:47.599
nervous for someone who supposedly didn't know anything. I mean

602
00:36:47.639 --> 00:36:51.960
he was pretty finicky. Although he was answering their questions

603
00:36:52.079 --> 00:36:56.039
and picking up on this this body language or this

604
00:36:56.039 --> 00:36:59.599
this personality trait that he was showing, the investigators bit

605
00:36:59.679 --> 00:37:03.679
down even harder, making it clear to him, look, you

606
00:37:03.800 --> 00:37:06.840
keep telling us this, but we're not going to back down.

607
00:37:07.519 --> 00:37:10.199
We're going to keep questioning you. We're gonna keep asking

608
00:37:10.239 --> 00:37:13.519
you anything and everything because we're just not quite buying

609
00:37:13.840 --> 00:37:17.440
what you are telling us. And so while they gave

610
00:37:17.519 --> 00:37:20.079
him all this pressure and they continued to apply it,

611
00:37:20.599 --> 00:37:24.360
they wouldn't give him any room to squirm out of

612
00:37:24.360 --> 00:37:26.440
his statements. It was almost a little bit more rapid

613
00:37:26.440 --> 00:37:30.519
fire in the questions. Any breaks in the questioning that

614
00:37:30.599 --> 00:37:33.559
they were willing to give him they would give by

615
00:37:33.599 --> 00:37:37.039
completely leaving the room. They wouldn't sit in there with him.

616
00:37:37.320 --> 00:37:39.639
So when they would do this, they weren't off just

617
00:37:39.679 --> 00:37:43.119
grabbing coffee and shooting the crap. They were actually going

618
00:37:43.119 --> 00:37:45.920
and they were watching him on camera to see what

619
00:37:46.000 --> 00:37:48.760
was he doing when he didn't think anybody was watching him,

620
00:37:49.159 --> 00:37:53.480
And what they saw was he was visibly uncomfortable. He

621
00:37:53.559 --> 00:37:55.840
was doing things like he would take both hands and

622
00:37:55.880 --> 00:37:58.960
he would like rub his face like a very tense

623
00:37:59.039 --> 00:38:01.840
face rub he would cover his eyes and he would

624
00:38:01.880 --> 00:38:04.440
put his head in his hands, almost like trying to

625
00:38:04.559 --> 00:38:09.280
think things through and release this nervous energy and watching

626
00:38:09.360 --> 00:38:12.519
him squirm. They would sit there and watch him until

627
00:38:12.519 --> 00:38:14.079
he just they thought he was at a point that

628
00:38:14.119 --> 00:38:16.360
he couldn't take it anymore, and they would go back

629
00:38:16.400 --> 00:38:19.760
into the room and they would start questioning him, jumping

630
00:38:19.840 --> 00:38:23.039
straight into questions, and they didn't give up. How did

631
00:38:23.079 --> 00:38:27.079
Asia kill Tiera? Talk to us Jamal, but Jamal just

632
00:38:27.079 --> 00:38:29.559
shook his head. He shook it like in the no

633
00:38:29.840 --> 00:38:33.320
back and forth, and he said, I don't know, but

634
00:38:33.360 --> 00:38:36.480
that I don't know was almost a whisper. It was

635
00:38:36.599 --> 00:38:39.760
very low. It was like, I don't know, I don't know.

636
00:38:40.679 --> 00:38:45.199
So the detective leaned in closer and directly in his eyes,

637
00:38:45.360 --> 00:38:49.079
face to face, said quit lying, quit saying you don't know.

638
00:38:49.679 --> 00:38:56.239
How did she kill her? And after she he said

639
00:38:56.239 --> 00:38:58.800
At that time, Jamal just stared at the table for

640
00:38:58.840 --> 00:39:01.719
a moment. It was a he just stared at the table,

641
00:39:01.800 --> 00:39:06.559
head down. He slightly shook his head again before whispering

642
00:39:06.639 --> 00:39:11.320
back she stabbed her, And it was a whisper, but

643
00:39:11.519 --> 00:39:17.320
there it was. Jamal had finally broken He had been there,

644
00:39:17.800 --> 00:39:22.760
and he had implicated Asia too. So what now was

645
00:39:22.800 --> 00:39:26.480
the connection between them? How did they know one another?

646
00:39:27.000 --> 00:39:30.760
What was it that would even connect them in a

647
00:39:30.800 --> 00:39:35.039
way that murder would be something on their minds? And

648
00:39:35.119 --> 00:39:40.000
it turned out Asia had held a job and she

649
00:39:40.320 --> 00:39:43.400
worked with Jamal. I know she said she sold crack,

650
00:39:43.960 --> 00:39:47.519
but she also had worked with Jamal and guess where

651
00:39:47.559 --> 00:39:53.400
they worked together? A meat processing plant. That's right, the

652
00:39:53.559 --> 00:39:58.719
same one as Tiara and Vincent. Asia did know who

653
00:39:58.760 --> 00:40:01.239
Tiera was, although so I will tell you they worked

654
00:40:01.280 --> 00:40:06.239
opposite shifts. And while Asia and Jamal were friends from work,

655
00:40:07.360 --> 00:40:12.760
Jamal also knew Tierra, and Tiera knew Jamal because it

656
00:40:12.840 --> 00:40:17.599
was Jamal's stanky breath that she couldn't stand, even when

657
00:40:17.639 --> 00:40:19.679
he was the one who had helped her up off

658
00:40:19.719 --> 00:40:24.159
the factory floor when that machine had injured her. Yes,

659
00:40:24.840 --> 00:40:28.599
Jamal was the very guy who just a few weeks

660
00:40:28.639 --> 00:40:33.719
before her death asked her out on a date. And

661
00:40:33.760 --> 00:40:37.079
this same guy that then, just a few weeks after

662
00:40:37.119 --> 00:40:42.039
asking her out, was there to murder her alongside Asia.

663
00:40:43.320 --> 00:40:46.079
There was a link between them all, and even more

664
00:40:46.079 --> 00:40:50.039
would come out when Tiera's aunt spoke to police, saying

665
00:40:50.519 --> 00:40:53.960
Tiera told me shortly before her murder, and I believe

666
00:40:53.960 --> 00:40:57.880
it was three days before Tierra was murdered. She had

667
00:40:57.880 --> 00:40:59.519
gone to her aunt. I believe her aunt's name was

668
00:40:59.519 --> 00:41:02.840
Holly Anne. Holly and her were talking and she said,

669
00:41:02.960 --> 00:41:07.360
Aunt Holly, there's this woman that threatened me. And you

670
00:41:07.400 --> 00:41:10.519
know it was stupid, but this woman's threatening me. So

671
00:41:10.599 --> 00:41:12.679
Aunt Holly when she heard about this, was like, well,

672
00:41:12.719 --> 00:41:15.599
who whoh you know, what do you mean? A woman

673
00:41:15.760 --> 00:41:19.639
threatened you? And while Tiera wasn't really pressed by the threat,

674
00:41:19.679 --> 00:41:23.039
it didn't really get her going. She was. She was

675
00:41:23.079 --> 00:41:26.039
more annoyed by it. She was telling her aunt Holly, Yeah,

676
00:41:26.079 --> 00:41:28.840
I mean, it's just ridiculous. This woman at work, who

677
00:41:29.920 --> 00:41:32.000
you know, thinks that she don't like the fact that

678
00:41:32.039 --> 00:41:34.480
I'm I guess Dayton Vincent, I don't know, but but

679
00:41:34.719 --> 00:41:36.559
she didn't like me and she's sending me these threats.

680
00:41:36.559 --> 00:41:39.800
But the thing was, Tiera didn't feel like it would

681
00:41:39.840 --> 00:41:42.599
go that far. She thought it was just some yan yan.

682
00:41:43.360 --> 00:41:46.760
The threat had been from Asia, and it was made

683
00:41:46.840 --> 00:41:50.719
over the new relationship that she was holding with Vincent.

684
00:41:51.719 --> 00:41:58.639
Even More, Asia had also threatened Tiera's young cousin. After

685
00:41:59.119 --> 00:42:02.800
Tiera's death, he had posted something on a social media platform,

686
00:42:02.920 --> 00:42:07.039
something about Asia being killed and like some coward who

687
00:42:07.039 --> 00:42:09.760
would do this or something and show enough if Asia

688
00:42:10.039 --> 00:42:13.280
hadn't messaged him something to the effect of, you know,

689
00:42:13.280 --> 00:42:15.239
if he wanted to run his mouth, he could get

690
00:42:15.280 --> 00:42:19.320
some too. But y'all, this cousin was like twelve years old.

691
00:42:19.360 --> 00:42:22.719
He was a kid, and here was somebody threatening him

692
00:42:23.280 --> 00:42:27.760
online about you know what you're gonna do about it? Now,

693
00:42:28.239 --> 00:42:30.800
it was all making sense. It was all the pieces

694
00:42:30.840 --> 00:42:35.599
were coming together. Everything that had happened and had taken place,

695
00:42:35.960 --> 00:42:39.400
was all because of a jealous ex who wanted to

696
00:42:39.519 --> 00:42:43.599
get even Asia made a plan to set up Vincent

697
00:42:43.880 --> 00:42:48.960
on a bogus burglary charge. The timeline alone showed that

698
00:42:49.119 --> 00:42:53.840
Vincent and Tiara were together whenever that alleged burglary had

699
00:42:53.880 --> 00:42:57.719
taken place. That's why Tihara believed him. She believed in

700
00:42:57.840 --> 00:43:01.199
Vincent's in a sense so much because she knew it

701
00:43:01.280 --> 00:43:04.199
wasn't true he was with her whenever this supposedly had

702
00:43:04.239 --> 00:43:06.760
taken place, and that is why Tiera was trying to

703
00:43:06.760 --> 00:43:09.559
get the bail money together for him, because she knew

704
00:43:09.599 --> 00:43:12.639
in her heart that the charge was bogus and it

705
00:43:12.719 --> 00:43:16.039
worked though, and since it worked, Asia knew that if

706
00:43:16.119 --> 00:43:18.639
Vincent were locked up, then she would be able to

707
00:43:18.679 --> 00:43:21.800
go and break in and steal all of Vincent's things

708
00:43:22.079 --> 00:43:25.440
with no pushback. If you're locked up in jail, there

709
00:43:25.480 --> 00:43:27.559
ain't nothing you can do when I go break into

710
00:43:27.599 --> 00:43:31.639
the house. She also knew that if Vincent was locked up,

711
00:43:31.920 --> 00:43:34.079
there's no way that he would be able to protect

712
00:43:34.119 --> 00:43:39.719
his precious Tiara, and Asia was out for blood y'all.

713
00:43:40.239 --> 00:43:45.039
If Tiara thought that she was bluffing, she wasn't, and

714
00:43:45.079 --> 00:43:48.719
she had very serious plans to go show Tiara just

715
00:43:49.039 --> 00:43:52.679
how serious she was. And to do this she enlisted

716
00:43:52.719 --> 00:43:55.719
help from Jamal and that is where they hatched this

717
00:43:55.840 --> 00:44:00.679
plan to get Jeff involved, which was Jamal's roommate, and

718
00:44:00.719 --> 00:44:04.000
then to go steal all of the items. So, using

719
00:44:04.119 --> 00:44:08.760
Vincent's other ex girlfriend's name, they made that false police

720
00:44:08.760 --> 00:44:11.320
report of burglary with the help of Jeff the roommate.

721
00:44:11.679 --> 00:44:14.880
Once Vincent was picked up and he was arrested, and

722
00:44:14.920 --> 00:44:17.760
they knew that that plan had worked. About fate the

723
00:44:17.800 --> 00:44:21.320
false burglary, that's whenever they affected their plan to go

724
00:44:21.400 --> 00:44:25.480
and steal his valuables. So under the cloak of darkness.

725
00:44:25.639 --> 00:44:28.400
That's whenever they drove to Tierra's home, and they parked

726
00:44:28.400 --> 00:44:31.360
about a block away so as to remain unseen. Whenever

727
00:44:31.360 --> 00:44:35.440
they got near the apartment. They parked that car at

728
00:44:35.480 --> 00:44:39.199
three forty eight am. That's when they then walked to

729
00:44:39.280 --> 00:44:43.239
the home and they made entry into Asia's apartment and

730
00:44:43.280 --> 00:44:47.159
they attacked her with the knife. Whenever they broke in

731
00:44:47.400 --> 00:44:50.320
and they killed her, it took them less than thirty

732
00:44:50.480 --> 00:44:55.000
five minutes from from walking away from the car, killing

733
00:44:55.039 --> 00:44:57.679
her and then starting to load up items and then

734
00:44:57.920 --> 00:45:03.159
walk back to the car. Jamal maintained though he maintained

735
00:45:03.280 --> 00:45:07.119
in his interview that he knew nothing about a murder

736
00:45:07.159 --> 00:45:09.159
that was going to go down. He knew that they

737
00:45:09.159 --> 00:45:11.960
were going to go burglarize the home, but he said,

738
00:45:12.079 --> 00:45:15.119
I had no idea that Asia was going to go

739
00:45:15.159 --> 00:45:19.000
in and kill Tiera no idea. Whether that's true or not,

740
00:45:19.199 --> 00:45:21.760
I'm going to let you, the listener decide. You decide

741
00:45:21.760 --> 00:45:24.159
if you believe that or not. But I can tell

742
00:45:24.199 --> 00:45:28.519
you this, if I personally did not know that an

743
00:45:28.559 --> 00:45:32.159
attack and murder was going to take place, and then

744
00:45:32.199 --> 00:45:36.599
a brutal stabbing of the magnitude that went down in

745
00:45:36.719 --> 00:45:41.639
that home, especially on a girl that I had just

746
00:45:41.840 --> 00:45:44.400
asked out on a date two to three weeks prior.

747
00:45:44.639 --> 00:45:47.320
If all of that went down and I was not

748
00:45:47.400 --> 00:45:50.559
prepared for that, I would be running like fire, not

749
00:45:50.679 --> 00:45:53.880
only to get away, but to try to call for help.

750
00:45:54.079 --> 00:45:57.639
And he did not do any of that, none of it.

751
00:45:58.920 --> 00:46:03.119
The body language alone, when they are walking back and

752
00:46:03.159 --> 00:46:06.639
forth from the apartment to the car after this brutal,

753
00:46:07.000 --> 00:46:11.679
brutal murder went down, showed a very calm and collected

754
00:46:12.000 --> 00:46:16.719
duo walking back and forth from four thirty am until

755
00:46:16.760 --> 00:46:21.679
almost six am, super casual, and they are super at

756
00:46:21.719 --> 00:46:25.880
ease with one another. Nothing looks tense, nothing looks forced.

757
00:46:26.000 --> 00:46:29.599
There's no weapon at his back saying walk, there's no gun,

758
00:46:29.639 --> 00:46:35.239
there's no there's side by side walking. So with investigators

759
00:46:35.840 --> 00:46:39.760
knowing this, they they knew that what he was saying

760
00:46:39.800 --> 00:46:42.280
in their in their just heart of hearts, just wasn't true.

761
00:46:42.920 --> 00:46:45.679
Jamal realized that he had to adjust his tune a

762
00:46:45.719 --> 00:46:49.559
little bit, so he told investigators that the only reason

763
00:46:49.840 --> 00:46:52.320
he continued to go along with it and what it

764
00:46:52.360 --> 00:46:56.000
looks like on the cameras was because Asia had then

765
00:46:56.119 --> 00:47:01.000
threatened to kill him if he didn't. She was capable

766
00:47:01.000 --> 00:47:04.800
of killing because she killed Tiera. But there's other things

767
00:47:04.800 --> 00:47:07.599
that you have to take into consideration as a listener,

768
00:47:07.840 --> 00:47:10.639
as someone who wants to look at the evidence and

769
00:47:10.760 --> 00:47:12.960
weigh it in your own mind. And it's that they

770
00:47:13.000 --> 00:47:16.639
also took time together to use bleach and to clean

771
00:47:16.679 --> 00:47:20.360
it up. I'm not buying the claim that you didn't know.

772
00:47:20.880 --> 00:47:23.800
If you are going to go on that and say, well,

773
00:47:23.800 --> 00:47:26.679
maybe he really didn't know, I implore you to ask

774
00:47:26.760 --> 00:47:31.280
yourself what kind of person casually continues on after seeing

775
00:47:31.360 --> 00:47:34.000
something like that when they are not prepared for it.

776
00:47:34.840 --> 00:47:37.440
He had just asked her out and his reaction was

777
00:47:37.480 --> 00:47:40.639
to do nothing. If that is the case that he

778
00:47:40.719 --> 00:47:42.920
didn't know, then I want to tell you it is

779
00:47:43.000 --> 00:47:46.280
absolutely even more disgusting that he was able to stomach

780
00:47:46.320 --> 00:47:48.920
it and just go along with it. Considering that he

781
00:47:49.000 --> 00:47:51.840
thought that she was cute even after she had turned

782
00:47:51.920 --> 00:47:54.960
him down for that date. He still should have had

783
00:47:55.360 --> 00:48:00.840
more humanity than that. Roughly thirty minutes later, after they've

784
00:48:00.920 --> 00:48:03.800
killed her, they've cleaned up the apartment, they have finished

785
00:48:04.079 --> 00:48:06.440
stealing everything that they want to steal, and they walk

786
00:48:06.519 --> 00:48:09.119
back and they get in the car and they drive off.

787
00:48:09.639 --> 00:48:13.320
It's only thirty minutes later, roughly that that first text

788
00:48:13.360 --> 00:48:17.480
message to Tiera's dad claiming that she had COVID was sent.

789
00:48:18.400 --> 00:48:21.840
I think Jamal was still with her. I don't think

790
00:48:21.840 --> 00:48:23.639
for a second that that was just the cut and

791
00:48:23.679 --> 00:48:26.519
the tie there. I don't believe it for a second.

792
00:48:26.800 --> 00:48:31.440
Tiera lay in her apartment dead for almost twelve hours

793
00:48:31.519 --> 00:48:33.719
before her dad arrived because remember he had to go

794
00:48:33.719 --> 00:48:36.199
to work, she was sick, get some rest, and then

795
00:48:36.239 --> 00:48:39.480
that welfare check was done. Tiera had been dead the

796
00:48:39.719 --> 00:48:44.519
entire day, and once the body was found, Aja knew

797
00:48:44.719 --> 00:48:48.039
that the investigation would start. So that's why she threatened

798
00:48:48.039 --> 00:48:50.480
mister Clarence at the end of the day with the

799
00:48:50.800 --> 00:48:54.400
know the game text. The text didn't scare him though.

800
00:48:54.559 --> 00:48:57.719
You can't scare a daddy off, not from his baby girl.

801
00:48:57.920 --> 00:49:00.639
All it did was fuel his fire to go find

802
00:49:00.800 --> 00:49:03.639
his daughter's killer. And I'm gonna tell you this, Asia,

803
00:49:03.800 --> 00:49:06.480
you're a fucking idiot, because if you hadn't sent those

804
00:49:06.519 --> 00:49:10.400
text messages, there is a real chance, there's a real

805
00:49:10.519 --> 00:49:13.360
chance that she could have gotten away with it, and

806
00:49:13.360 --> 00:49:17.320
that the suspicion would have stayed on Vincent. Her texts

807
00:49:17.480 --> 00:49:21.159
alone are what created that data trail, which led police

808
00:49:21.199 --> 00:49:24.920
to look at the videos and to find the commonalities

809
00:49:24.960 --> 00:49:29.079
and to follow the path that said. Both thirty nine

810
00:49:29.159 --> 00:49:31.760
year old Asia Lindsay and thirty one year old Jamal

811
00:49:31.800 --> 00:49:35.039
Bullock were arrested for the murder of Tiera Birch within

812
00:49:35.119 --> 00:49:39.480
eleven days of her murder, and the cases that were

813
00:49:39.519 --> 00:49:45.559
built against them were so incredibly solid that neither one

814
00:49:45.599 --> 00:49:49.760
of them even rolled the dice and had a trial. Instead,

815
00:49:49.880 --> 00:49:53.679
both of them pled guilty to the charges. Agia Lindsay

816
00:49:54.159 --> 00:49:57.960
had been indicted on counts of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery,

817
00:49:58.119 --> 00:50:01.840
and aggravated burglary, were she pled guilty to all of

818
00:50:01.880 --> 00:50:06.239
those charges in September of twenty twenty two. When she

819
00:50:06.280 --> 00:50:09.440
pled guilty, she was sentenced to twenty years to life

820
00:50:09.480 --> 00:50:14.239
in prison, with a parole opportunity starting after twenty years.

821
00:50:14.599 --> 00:50:17.840
Jamal Bullock he would come about a month later. He

822
00:50:17.880 --> 00:50:21.960
pled guilty in October of twenty twenty two to involuntary manslaughter,

823
00:50:22.400 --> 00:50:26.760
aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary, and he was sentenced to

824
00:50:26.880 --> 00:50:30.079
twenty to twenty five years in prison for the murder

825
00:50:30.199 --> 00:50:33.760
and his role in the murder of Tiera Birch, I

826
00:50:33.800 --> 00:50:35.920
want you to know this too. I could have just

827
00:50:36.039 --> 00:50:40.280
ended this story here, but I was able to get

828
00:50:40.320 --> 00:50:44.599
in contact with Tierra's mama before doing this recording, and

829
00:50:44.639 --> 00:50:48.880
we had a great conversation about her sweet girl and

830
00:50:48.960 --> 00:50:52.239
just what a blessing Tiera was. She gave me a

831
00:50:52.280 --> 00:50:56.000
ton of insight into her daughter's case, but she also

832
00:50:56.199 --> 00:51:00.440
said some things to me that highlighted the change of

833
00:51:00.480 --> 00:51:04.360
emotions that a family goes through when they are dealing

834
00:51:04.559 --> 00:51:06.679
with the not only the death of a loved one,

835
00:51:06.760 --> 00:51:12.239
but a horrendous murder of a loved one. And one

836
00:51:12.280 --> 00:51:14.719
of the things in that discussion that stuck out to

837
00:51:14.800 --> 00:51:19.679
me was how dark a victim's mind can go when

838
00:51:19.719 --> 00:51:24.119
the grief is so great and justice seems like something

839
00:51:24.159 --> 00:51:28.280
that the courts will never be able to truly give you.

840
00:51:28.920 --> 00:51:32.719
There is there is no justice in my mind in

841
00:51:32.760 --> 00:51:36.039
a murder trial or in someone being convicted of a murder.

842
00:51:36.039 --> 00:51:39.760
I don't think justice is what is actually given, because justice,

843
00:51:39.760 --> 00:51:43.000
to me would be in the family's eyes. What there

844
00:51:43.159 --> 00:51:47.679
is is accountability if you're caught. But I don't know

845
00:51:47.719 --> 00:51:51.719
so much about justice. And with that realization in mind,

846
00:51:52.119 --> 00:51:56.119
Missy Yolanda told me that at one point, she even

847
00:51:56.159 --> 00:52:02.559
contemplated committing a crime herself to have the opportunity to

848
00:52:02.639 --> 00:52:06.159
go to jail and be locked up with her daughter's

849
00:52:06.239 --> 00:52:10.719
killer Asia. If she could do that and she could

850
00:52:10.719 --> 00:52:14.000
get locked up with her, her next goal would have

851
00:52:14.039 --> 00:52:18.920
been to make sure that Asia Lindsay would suffer just

852
00:52:19.039 --> 00:52:21.920
as her daughter had done, and just as she was

853
00:52:21.960 --> 00:52:26.760
continuing herself to do every day since her daughter had

854
00:52:26.880 --> 00:52:30.199
been killed. It went through her mind. She racked her

855
00:52:30.239 --> 00:52:32.639
brain thinking about ways that she could just get in

856
00:52:32.679 --> 00:52:37.199
that jail. All she needed was a couple minutes. But thankfully,

857
00:52:38.199 --> 00:52:43.320
miss Landa isn't that person, and a clearer mind prevailed

858
00:52:43.880 --> 00:52:46.760
and she didn't do that. But she did go there.

859
00:52:47.000 --> 00:52:49.559
And I get it, guys, I get it. I'm sure

860
00:52:49.639 --> 00:52:53.239
you get it. I understand that the drive to get

861
00:52:53.360 --> 00:52:57.800
more than just punishment, to want vengeance almost for what

862
00:52:58.000 --> 00:53:01.639
these animals did to her daughter. I understand the fact

863
00:53:01.679 --> 00:53:05.559
that they want it. It is so unfair. It was

864
00:53:05.679 --> 00:53:10.159
unfair then what they went through, and is still unfair

865
00:53:10.320 --> 00:53:15.880
now what the family is going through. But following that

866
00:53:16.079 --> 00:53:19.760
dark thinking that she was so vulnerable and willing to

867
00:53:19.760 --> 00:53:22.079
share with me, and I appreciate it so much, Missie Allanda,

868
00:53:22.079 --> 00:53:25.679
if you're listening. She followed up with something that I

869
00:53:25.840 --> 00:53:31.000
found to be heartbreakingly considerate, because she told me, you know,

870
00:53:31.360 --> 00:53:36.599
Asia took my daughter, but Asia had five kids at

871
00:53:36.599 --> 00:53:42.679
home that she left to do this. Her whole attitude,

872
00:53:42.760 --> 00:53:45.840
her whole life. Miss Yolanda told me that Asia had

873
00:53:45.880 --> 00:53:49.519
this i'm gonna get what I want mentality and was

874
00:53:49.599 --> 00:53:53.000
selfish her whole life that she and she didn't even

875
00:53:53.039 --> 00:53:56.519
think about her own children. She was so ate up

876
00:53:57.199 --> 00:54:04.360
with anger. Even in speaking about her daughter's killer, she

877
00:54:04.639 --> 00:54:09.880
was still sad for the killer's kids. And that shows heart,

878
00:54:10.159 --> 00:54:12.800
That shows humanity, because it would be so easy to

879
00:54:12.840 --> 00:54:16.199
just write off everybody, to look at and think, oh,

880
00:54:16.199 --> 00:54:18.440
they're the spawns of this horrible woman. But she didn't

881
00:54:18.440 --> 00:54:20.280
look at it that way. She looked at those poor

882
00:54:20.360 --> 00:54:25.239
children through a mother's eyes. And on both sides of

883
00:54:25.280 --> 00:54:29.679
the coin in this story, innocent children of two different women,

884
00:54:29.760 --> 00:54:32.599
on two different sides of it, paid the price that

885
00:54:32.760 --> 00:54:41.360
was unfair, and that is devastatingly shakespeareanly heartbreaking when you

886
00:54:41.400 --> 00:54:44.480
look at it that way. I did also find out

887
00:54:44.800 --> 00:54:48.719
that Vincent still speaks to Tiera's mama from time to time.

888
00:54:48.800 --> 00:54:51.000
Still to this day. She told me that even last

889
00:54:51.079 --> 00:54:53.840
year on Mother's Day, Vincent texted her and wished her

890
00:54:53.880 --> 00:54:56.519
a happy Mother's Day. And in the past they've even

891
00:54:56.599 --> 00:55:00.559
had lunch together and talked about Tiera and Vincent. You know,

892
00:55:00.599 --> 00:55:04.400
he cried about it and he felt so horrible that

893
00:55:04.519 --> 00:55:06.679
it happened to her, and because he was the link

894
00:55:07.519 --> 00:55:11.440
between it all. Her words of advice, though, Miss Yolanda's

895
00:55:11.480 --> 00:55:15.000
words of advice to anyone that is listening to this

896
00:55:15.079 --> 00:55:20.599
podcast was to never disregard a threat. She said, Please

897
00:55:20.639 --> 00:55:23.960
tell your listeners, do not ever disregard a threat. Don't

898
00:55:24.000 --> 00:55:27.880
play it down, always take it seriously because you never know.

899
00:55:28.519 --> 00:55:32.800
And then she said, my Tiera didn't know. It's always

900
00:55:32.880 --> 00:55:38.280
weird when an ex can't let a relationship go, but

901
00:55:38.400 --> 00:55:43.000
it's a whole new level when toxic jealousy turns deadly.

902
00:55:43.880 --> 00:55:47.400
And what did Asia hope to gain from it all?

903
00:55:47.760 --> 00:55:50.880
I'm still stumped by this. What did she hope to gain?

904
00:55:51.119 --> 00:55:54.320
Did she think that she was gonna win Vincent back?

905
00:55:54.400 --> 00:55:59.920
Because that's a hard no. Was Tierara being just annihilate

906
00:56:00.800 --> 00:56:04.280
and being dead? Was that just a feel good moment

907
00:56:04.400 --> 00:56:07.400
for her? Because if so, I'm here to tell you

908
00:56:07.519 --> 00:56:11.920
that evil absolutely has a face, and I'm posting it

909
00:56:11.960 --> 00:56:15.559
on my Patreon if you'd like to see it. All

910
00:56:15.599 --> 00:56:19.679
Asia gained was a whole bunch of nothing. She gave

911
00:56:19.800 --> 00:56:25.159
up everything, including her children, including her freedom, all because

912
00:56:25.480 --> 00:56:29.320
she felt like Tiara was in her way. And self

913
00:56:29.320 --> 00:56:32.920
reflection in that moment would have benefited Asia if she

914
00:56:33.039 --> 00:56:38.480
was even capable. Imagine having five baby daddies, zero husbands,

915
00:56:38.880 --> 00:56:56.199
and still being convinced that some other female was your problem.
