Now, because I'm just ignorant, y'all, I thought this was gonna be Unice, Louisiana, and I got all crazy when I wrote it down, and then I went back and double checked. And did you know that there is a Unice, New Mexico Because I had no clue, but there is. And you know who lives there, Shelley. I don't have your last name, Shelley, but Shelley's there and I want to say hey to you, girl, how are you? And then right in Shelbyville, Tennessee, is Jenna Atkins. Hey, Jenna, what's going on? One of my good friends is named Jenna.

And then last but not least, I've got Miss Hannah Massy. Now Hannah is also gonna be from Georgia. How are you doing, Hannah. I hope things are going well over there in Thomister. I hope I said that right, Georgia, And I'm so thankful to have you supporting me and my show. Y'all are the difference, and you're the reason that I'm have way more content coming out as soon as I get through this school year. Okay, let me get started. I want you all to come with me to Barron County, Wisconsin. Now, if you've never been there, I haven't, so I checked it out and it says that it's got a long history there. It was established in eighteen sixty, but prior to that, it was one of the areas that the many thousands of Native Americans inhabited. It's filled with lakes and lots of forest area perfect for hunting and fishing, and even today that sentiment stands true. There's boating, there's camping, there's cross country skiing, fishing, golfing, and snowmobiling, which I've never done before.

5:05 I want to try that. If my husband's listening, Blake, take Mama snowmobiling. But uh, I thought that was kind of cool. They've got this pioneer village museum, which has this replica of where like how the pioneers used to live and how they work, so you can go check it out like how it really was, and then you can try specialty foods there, like they have locally produced bison, which I've never tried. They've got cheese, and they have breweries that you can tour. So oh in all sounds like a great place to live if you're there, Hey, y'all got my respect. It sounds like a cool place to be. Now, some people just check it out. They call it home. And that was the case of James and Denise Closs, and both of them were lifelong residents of Wisconsin. They were a loving couple, having gotten married in June ninth of two thousand and three, and they did a little getaway wedding in Las Vegas, which I just think is so cool. There was a big age gap between them. By big, I mean maybe not major, but there was a ten year age gap between the two of them. But that meant nothing. Age is just a number, right. James was fifty six, Denise was forty six.

6:11 And the word that comes to mind to me whenever I'm describing them, based on everything that I've read and seen is that they would the word in tune comes to me or the words in tune. They seem just to be so in tune with one another and just a good couple. They were in tune with one another. And they were no strangers to commitment. What do I mean by that? They were committed in their marriage, but they were committed at work. Matter of fact, both of them had worked at the Jenny O Turkey for twenty seven years. That's crazy. That's a good stint at one job, and that's dedication. So over I went it and looked up Genny O Turkey to make sure I knew exactly what I was talking about. And they do processing there, so they process whole turkeys, and they do deli meat and sausage and ground turkey and all that. Jazz James was a sports guy. His teams were the Wisconsin Badgers, and he also loved the Green Bay Packers, and I would have expected nothing less, if I'm being honest. One of his favorite things to do was to reminisce about his good old days. And he seemed to have had an amazing high school athletic career and so just going back on that was something that he just really enjoyed doing.

7:22 And I can so identify with that feeling of remembering the wins and the camaraderie and the highs and the lows of competition. You know, I myself was an athlete. I played volleyball and basketball and softball. I ran track. I was on the LSU track team for a little while, throwing the javelin and so reminiscing about the glory days. I just totally understand where he's coming from, because we get older and those days, in those awesome moments, sometimes are fleeting after a while. He also had a loving family, his parents, He had his sister named Kelly, He had brothers Mike and Jeff, and then he had his wife, the love of his life, who he chose, and she was just as wonderful as he was. Her name was Denise, and from what I understand, was a woman's woman, And I think that is the greatest thing that a woman can say about another woman, is that she's a woman's woman and that she has a heart of gold. She enjoyed doing things that a lot of women in their forties like to do. She would tend to her flowers, she loved to go feed her birds outside. She loved angels, and most important, I would assume to her was the fact that she loved the Lord. She was an active member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church and Cameron and together the two of them had a daughter who they named Jamie, and both of them adored their baby girl. Now this next statement I'm gonna make I'm not one hundred percent sure about. And I did reach out to family members but did not have an answer at the time of this recording. But from what I understand, they also had

8:54 a little missing piece of their heart in that there was a baby that died as an infant named James, and I believe that that was their baby. And if I'm wrong, I apologize. Just from what I gather, that is what I believe to be the case. But if not their child, there was a baby James who they did love, So shout out to baby James. Now Jamie will be thirteen years old at the time that this story takes place, and she is the absolute apple of her parents' eyes. They were steady, decent, good people, so it was an absolute shock when a nine to one to one call came from their residence on October the fifteenth of twenty eighteen. But all that the operator could discern from the call was screaming in the background. No words were making sense. It was jumbled, and it sounded terrible as they listened as as the operator listened in trying to figure out what was going on. The location that the call came from was determined to be just three miles from the nine to one dispatch center, which would have been off a highway eight. So as soon as the call came in and they were able to locate where the call was coming from, help was dispatched out and three deputies immediately turned on their lights and they raced towards that home. Deputies James Presley, Eric Saddani, and John Fick knew that they had to get there based on the screaming described by the dispatcher that had come through the line, So they were not going to wait, and they jumped in those vehicles and they hauled ass and they arrived to that house just a few minutes later,

10:27 which was about one o'clock in the morning. Now, once they got to the home, the deputies approached the house cautiously, but they noted that the home was eerily silent, and it was also dark. It didn't seem like there was a lot going on considering the call that had supposedly come from the home. There was no movement, there was no screaming, there was nothing. The only thing that they noted, like I said, was that it was super dark. There were no outside lights on of the house. But as they kind of walked around to figure out what was going on, they could see one light that was a single light on in an upstairs window on the front of the home. So Deputy Presley told Deputy Sadani go and try to make contact with anyone in the home from the front while he walked around the back to kind of look for any signs of danger, if anyone was exiting the home or anything like that. He saw nothing, but he did notice again on the other side that that same light on the back side of the house was on from the upstairs. Now, the home was a modest one. It was a tannish color. Depending on which photos you look at, it either has a blue front door or a white front door. It doesn't really matter.

11:37 But it is a modest home and it looks actually single level until you approach it and the driveway kind of curves around the back side of it, and then you realize there's a carport type area underneath, and it is actually two stories, but the lay of the land you can't really tell it's two stories until you come up on it. It had a front door, front door that had a glass storm door on it. So when Deputy Sadani kind of walked up there quietly, he shined his flashlight on the door, and it was really hard to see inside when he did that because there was very heavy condensation on that storm door. So as it got closer, he could tell that the wooden door behind this storm door was open, not all the way, but it was pushed open. And so as he looked the door up and down when he got closer, he could see that it was wedged open because a rug that was right inside the doorway had, you know, kind of flipped up, and it seemed like it got caught between the door and the doorframes. The door was unable to close, and it left just enough of a crack that he could see in, and to his surprise, I guess, and more like shock, he did see a pair of legs laying on the ground inside. So at that point he wasn't going to wait. He pushed the door open further to try to see inside more clearly, and he could tell that those legs belonged to a male, an adult male, lying on the ground with his feet near the door.

13:06 The man was motionless, he made no sound, and clearly was either dead or very injured, one or the other. So the police announced their presence inside the home. They yelled for anyone inside to show themselves, but all the officers heard was silence and stillness. So I'm sure you can imagine that this is unnerving because they don't know what they're about to walk into. So they made the decision to enter the home together as a team for safety reasons and they could cover one another. And they don't know the layout of the home either, so that makes good sense. As they made their way through the home, they came to a hallway where partially between a bedroom in the hallway there was a shower curtain that was pulled and just haphazardly thrown on the floor in the hallway.

13:55 They edged closer, unsure of what to expect exactly, and as they passed that bedroom door, Deputy Saddani looked in and immediately saw that there was an adult female with red hair sitting up but unresponsive in the tub. That curtain, that shower curtain had clearly been pulled from that bathroom and slung down on the ground. The woman wasn't moving and wasn't responding to anything. They continued forward to ensure that the home was safe and that there were no intruders inside, and they would find that there was no one else there. So immediately they were on their radios and they said, look, we need to get an ambulance over here. We've got people down. Once the ambulance arrived, paramedics came inside the home, but they really just confirmed what the deputies already knew, and that was that there was nothing to do. Both victims were deceased and clearly so, if I'm being honest. The deputies saw shotgun shells on the ground as they cleared the home, and the wounds of the victims were devastating, But they did their due diligence and they called the ambulance, you know, just in sure, you never know, but when the coroner, you know, when when the ambulance workers got there, they're like, the coroner's going to be more help at this at this point, because the injuries were just devastating to these people. So what the deputies had walked through, as you can tell, was nothing short than heart stopping, although they remained calm and steady to clear the home. And I want you to know, my Patreon members, I've got the audio from the body cam as they do this, and you can

15:26 go in and listen live. As they were clearing the home, the man that they had stepped over in the front door had significant head trauma to his face and to his head. There was blood and brain matter just splattering on the west wall, which directly lined up behind the wooden entrance, And clearly from anyone who's ever seen a shotgun blast to a person or an animal, you can tell that this was a shotgun blast that this person had received to the head. The female in the bathroom was also in terrible shape and had horrific head trauma.

16:06 It also looked to be again from a shotgun blast, and it was so traumatic. It had blown off the back of her head and her skull plate was lying next to her in the bathtub. So what had happened in this home wasn't really clear other than the fact that two people were dead, brutally assassinated as far as I'm concerned, and there was no obvious motive that could be seen in that moment. So detectives were called to the scene and they started their investigation. The home was determined to be owned by James and Denise Class, who were also believed to be the deceased victims. When detective Nelson arrived on the scene, he entered the home and he saw James right away, right where police had found him, lying in the doorway. And as he looked about, he realized that the door had not just been opened, that front door, It had been forcibly entered. So the door had this decorative glass in it which was completely shattered, and the dead bolt mechanism was just destroyed on the house.

17:12 So it wasn't kicked in. It wasn't pride open. No, that's not what happened. This was clearly the result of a gunshot blast to the dead bolt area of the door, which is horrifying to think about someone just blowing their way through your front door. He made his way to Denise and he found her, like I told you, seated in the tub with her head lying against the lower portion of the tub. And he also noticed that the drawer to the bathroom cabinet that butted up to the opening door of the bathroom was pulled open. So from the way it looked, the detective felt like she had gone and hidden in that bathroom, and then when she shut the bathroom door, she then opened that drawer to try and like Barrick, the door from being opened even if someone pushed. But the door to the bathroom had been kicked or pushed with such force that it split the door in half into two perfect horizontal halves. Okay, so someone blew through that door as well, but it was not a shotgun blast. It was like forcibly kicked through or something like that. There was one triangular shape that had broken off of the door and it flew off and it landed in that open drawer. And he also saw a cell phone near the hinge side of the door, and the cell phone was faced down on the ground. There was a shotgun shell casing, or more than one, but there were shotgun shell casings found about

18:43 the home and the property, and one casing was found outside the house near the concrete steps that led to the front door. One was lying next to James's body inside, and one was in the hallway outside of the bathroom door where Denise's body was located. And the amount of blood at the scene, as you can imagine, was pretty incredible. But that turned out to be useful though, because the pooling of blood near James's body had a shoeprint in it, and the treads in the blood looked to be made from that of a tactical boot. But now this brought about a question. Had an officer stepped in the blood while walking through the home or was this the shoeprint of the killer that had come through this home. So as the scene was really limited in what they could just discern at that moment, and they processed it, Detective Nelson's phone rang and brought something to his attention that would make his heart absolutely sink. The classes had that minor daughter. Her name was Jamie. Have y'all found her?

19:48 Someone asked on the other line, they have a daughter. Have you found her? Is she in the house? And he says, no, there's no one else here. Are you sure was she here? Are you sure that she was here? And they say, yes, she is there. He said, We've checked everywhere she's not here. Are you sure she wasn't with with family or a friend or something like that, But she wasn't, y'all. And the realization that she wasn't at a friend's house or at any of her other family member's house made this double murder case now even worse. Now there was a missing child and no one had a clue where she could be or who had come through this house and murdered her two parents. So now the question became, Okay, did she run off because she got scared? Was she injured? Was she kidnapped? You know, none of these questions had immediate answers, so police did what they could to start a search for her, and this included the issuing of a Wisconsin crime Alert as well as an Amber Alert, which, by the way, I think that knowledge is absolute power. So to my Wisconsin listeners, just so you know, it's free to sign up for these Wisconsin crime alerts. And the way that it works is the Wisconsin Department of Justice allows the locals, state, federal, and tribal law enforcement agencies to send out crime alert bulletins to businesses and they go out to the public and they target recipients based on the types of businesses and locations that are believed to possibly be able to help in certain cases. So for example, hotels or restaurants

21:22 or people in that exact area, all of those places will be targeted to get these messages. And all other states or most other states have something that is like this, and you can search it for it in your area. But no matter the alerts or the searches that were done or set up, or the extreme just exhaustion put out to try to find Jamie, she was never recovered. Her parents were laid to rest on Saturday, October twenty seventh, twenty eighteen, in a somber funeral, but without their baby girl, Jamie. Nobody found her. So the heartache that the family must have been feeling, along with the unknown fate of Jamie, that had to be just devastating, just simply devastating. I really thought about that when I was writing this, that there's a whole family wiped out with no rhyme or reason, and then the child has just disappeared without a trace, and the family's just left sitting there going, oh my god, what happened. Well.

22:23 Police would continue their investigating on the case, but really to no avail. The leads were slim and the case really seemed to just come to a screeching fast halt. For three months, nothing, there was absolutely nothing that came of this double murder and missing child. So three months would go by, But I'm gonna tell you it's actually eighty eight days to be exact. Eighty eight days would go by, and it was around three pm, three thirty pm when Genie Nutter did decided to go for a walk around her neighborhood with her dog. She was walking for about forty minutes before she made it back to her driveway, and as she approached her house, she noticed a young girl standing in the roadway and as they made eye contact, the girl began to just fall apart and cry for help. So Genie noticed that the child seemed to be in shock. She had matted hair, really messy clothes, and she just looked exhausted. This was not just a kid having a bad day. Something was very, very wrong. It was nineteen degrees outside and the girl was only wearing leggings and a sweatshirt, and at first glance, it was really obvious that she was also wearing what looked to be men's shoes. They were way too big for her and she was struggling to walk in them, and they were even on the wrong feet, like she had just thrown these shoes one But she started yelling, please help me. He killed my parents. I'm Jamie class,

23:57 it's me. I want to go home. Jeannie was shocked. I mean she just utterly shocked looking at this young girl because she knew the case. She knew it well, she had seen it on the news, and really, for a moment, she's staring at this little girl, going is this for real? How could this be for real? But it was and Jeannie then instantly became so scared that she said, come here, come here, and gathered up the girl. And so we got to get more people to help us, because we need more eyes on this. Right, So there was a home nearby right there, There was like this cabin right there by her house, but no one was usually there, and so next to that or a little ways down was the home of the Kasinkas. Peter and Kristen Kasenka were home, and so they ran up to that house knocking on the door explaining what was going on, and these people immediately opened their home, let these girls come in, this woman and this girl, and then dialed nine one one, and they knew that the police were immediately going to be en route. And the police did arrive there shortly thereafter, but you have to imagine everybody was afraid. The Casinkas were like, get everybody downstairs, get them down in the basement. You know, they're looking out the window trying to make sure that there's no crazed person coming after them because this Jamie has said that her parents were killed by the person that you know, had her basically and took her away from her parents.

25:17 So when the police arrived, they almost were kind of skeptical about it, but it was true. It really was Jamie. So the obvious questions come about, where have you been, Why haven't you contacted your family or the police? You know what's been going on that we don't We couldn't find you. And she was alive and she had a story to tell that seemed so unreal for a young girl to have lived through what I'm about to tell you, for her to be alive and standing before them able to tell it is incredible. But Jamie was a strong young girl and was very matter of fact in what she had been experiencing for the last eighty eight days. For the purposes of telling this story completely and in order, I'm going to be adding in information that Jamie may not have known at the time that she was talking to the police, but I'm adding it in for you for clarification so that you can see how the story unfolds as it unfolded completely. But Jamie started out by telling them the night that her parents were murdered, she was asleep in her bed and it was actually the early morning hours when her dog, Molly, started barking. But there was something different about this bark, and the dog wouldn't stop barking either. It just was a very different bark coming from this dog. And all of us are pet owners, we know exactly what I'm talking about right here.

26:36 With different that different bark that comes from them, it's an alert. So Jamie got out of her bed to go see what was going on, and as she walked in her living room, she noticed that someone was in their driveway and that wasn't cool. It was one o'clock in the morning, so she ran straight to her parents' bedroom and she woke up her daddy. Dadd either somebody outside, there's someone in our driveway. What Jamie didn't know as she woke up herd was that someone hadn't just happened upon their home in the wee hours of the morning. That man she saw was a man on a mission, and to get where he was in that moment, he had purposely shut off his headlights and then coasted his vehicle into the driveway to be as quiet as possible, and once he was comfortably near the home, he got out and he slowly closed his door in silence, and then had begun walking up to the house, following the little sidewalk that led to the front door. And as that man got close, he noticed that the gentleman from inside, which would have been Jamie's dad, was peering out of the window trying to see who was in their driveway.

27:45 She had done exactly like you would hope a child would do. She had woken her daddy up, and he got up and he went immediately into protective mode. That time of night or early morning hours wasn't normal for anyone to be at their house and it just did not set right with him. So he had grabbed the flashlight that he had and he went to the front door, and that's when he came face to face with arguably what we all fear happening at our homes. There was a man outside of his house, just on the other side of the door, and he was armed with a gun. Now, James knew immediately that this was nothing to mess around with, so he whispered firmly to Jamie and her mama, you'll go hide, Go hide now. And they could tell by the fierceness in his voice that they shouldn't question him and they needed to do exactly what he said, and so they immediately did. So they both ran. Jamie and her mama ran into that hallway of their house, and then they went into the bathroom. Mama shut the door, opened the drawer to kind of barricade it, and then they both got in the tub together and they closed the bathroom curtain just to hide. So it got quiet, and James was peeking through that decorative glass on the front door, and that's when the man ordered him to open up and get on the ground. So James responded with complete uncertainty, let me see your badge. In his mind, I'm believing that James thought maybe he was the police,

29:16 because he said get on the ground, and I'm sure he was very confused as a very confusing situation, and he wasn't sure what was going on. But as soon as he said let me see your badge, a gun blast shattered through the silence, and both mom and Jamie could tell from their location that it had blown through the front door by the sound, and Jamie knew in her gut that her dad had been seriously hurt, if not killed. And then there was a period of silence, and this unknown man was creeping through their house in the dark, and he was searching. He had his own flashlight and he was flashing it around in the home, looking for something, hunting for something that he couldn't find.

30:07 So Jamie and her mama muffled their panicked breathing and they remained as quiet as possible, hoping that he would just take what he wanted and he would leave. So his light flashed back and forth as he walked down the hall, checking for a movement, and then he came back to that shut door that he had walked past, When he initially went looking through the rooms, he had scanned his light back and forth, and when he got to that door, he turned the knob, but he quickly realized that it was locked. Denise had locked that door when they went in there to hide. Now Denise had her cell phone and through her shaking hands, she had dialed nine one one, But before she could give any information, the intruder slammed into that bathroom door, and both Denise and Jamie started screaming at the tops of their lungs and absolute sheer terror. Even the drawer, like I told you, was pulled out, it did nothing to reinforce the door from opening. The absolute brutality and force that this intruder used just blew through that door. And in times of life or death panic. I want you to know that the nine one one calls. The audio is not often easy to understand, but I do have it for you to listen to. So take a listen. And here's the very muffled and hard to hear a nine one one call, as Denise dials, and they're screaming for their lives. The

32:22 terror in her voice is palpable, even when you can't even understand the words that she's saying. The man kicked at that door. Come to find out, he had kicked at it over and over again until it finally split in half. And that's when he came through the door. And they saw him dressed in all black from head to toe, including a mask and a hat, and he had gloves and he grabbed that shower curtain and he just ripped it off the wall and he stood over the two females cowering in their tub, and he looked at the mother, Denise, and he demanded that she hang up the phone. So she did as she was told, and as soon as she hung up that phone, she then wrapped her arms around her baby girl, burying her face into her daughter, doing the only thing that she could do to protect her, which was to wrap her in a bear hug. And that's when the intruder pulled a flattened, partial roll of black gorilla duct tape from his jacket and he threw it at Denise, and she looked at it, and he demanded that she take that tape and she tape her daughter's mouth shut. So, in desperation to save both of their lives, she complied, and she did what she was told taping her daughter's mouth shut, and then in an instant, when she did exactly what she was told to do with no pushback, he raised his gun and he shot her mother in the head, with Jamie sitting right beside her. And what that child

33:57 experienced to that point is something that no one adult or child should ever see. Her mother instantly slumped forward and she was gone, but her final moments were spent doing the only thing that she could do to hold her baby and show her love while trying to save their lives. And I can just see and it hurts my heart. It like genuinely hurts my heart. I can see this woman cowering and just bear hugging her child because that's all she can do. There's nothing else she can do. She's up against an enemy that's got her outgunned and out manned, and she knew it, but she still grabbed her child with the last ounce of what she had. But it was for naught. This man didn't care about the bond that he just destroyed his target.

34:52 The thing that he came and that he was searching for was now powerless and voiceless, and it was a thirteen year old girl in a matter of less than four minutes, this intruder had destroyed a family forever, and he now had total control over Janie, who had nothing but his mercy to depend on. But unfortunately, this would be just the beginning of her misery. With her murdered mother slumped beside her in the bathtub, the man then taped her hands together behind her back, and then he taped her ankles together with that tape, basically immobilizing her.

35:37 And the way that he taped around her from what I understand, when her mother was putting the tape on there, he got aggravated because it wasn't I guess aggressive enough, and he took the tape and wrapped it completely around her face like around her completely around her face, not just a piece of tape torn off, So he completely immobilized her, and with his shotgun in one hand, he then wrapped his other free arm around Jamie and began dragging her out of the house away from her mother, and passed the body of her dead father in the doorway, and as he drug her through the living room, he stepped in her father's pulling blood and almost slipped down, which completely aggravated him and so aggravated by the inconvenience of it all. He then demanded that Jamie walked to his car, which she couldn't because the dumb ass had taped her ankle so tight that she couldn't walk. So then he snatched her up again, but this time he was dragging her, and he drug her out of the front of her house and then drug her up to his car, where he then just dropped her on the ground on the side of his car. She slammed to the ground, unable to use her arm to even break the fall, and then he walked to the rear of his car. He popped the trunk open, and then he returned, grabbed her, pulled her up on her feet, and then stuffed her in his trunk and then slammed it shut with her alone in the dark, terrified and beyond traumatized

Even have experience, having experienced the trauma of a lifetime, that child was still able to remember important details about the vehicle that she was stuffed into. She was able to tell the police it was an older, red four door car, and that was something that she had locked tight into her memory. It's the one thing that this man could not control. He may have destroyed her family, and he may have had physical control of her body, but he could not control what was in her thoughts. And she held on to that detail and knew exactly what the car looked like that she was stuffed into. And he then drove off from the home. But shortly after I'm talking about, within maybe thirty seconds of them driving away from the home, she could hear the police cars, the sirens, and they were getting closer and closer and closer, and she was thinking, oh my god, yes, yes, they know they've come to get me. But just as soon as they got close to the car, those sirens went past it in the opposite direction and they got quieter and quieter and quieter.

38:15 The police had unwittingly driven right past her on their way to respond to that original call for help from her mother at the home. And I have body and police cam video and audio of all of this, like I told you, and I'll upload it to Patreon. There's even dashcam video of them responding to the house that you can go look at. He had only been gone from the home for less than a minute when the police passed him, but being the chameleon that he was. He simply slowed and pulled the car to the side and yielded to the police, just like any driver would do, and watched as the police flew past him, and then he sped back up and he just kept going right on down the road. She felt like she was in that trunk for what seemed to be like two hours before the car stopped and the man took her out of the trunk and he then forced her to shimmy inside and brought her into the house that she would later be told was his house. He pushed her into the hallway and then he told her to sit down and stay and don't move. Well. By then she was crying.

39:23 She was shaking in utter fear, clearly terrified to know that you know, this is literally what your worst nightmare is made of. And she was so scared. And I'm gonna tell y'all something. I'm not telling you this detail detail to humiliate or anything like that. I'm telling you this detail because I want you to understand that level of fear that the son of a bitch put into this child. She was so scared that she even lost control of her of her bowels, of her bladder. Her clothes literally were soaked in her own urine. She literally peed herself. She was so afraid. Don't you just want to like scoop her up and hold her, tell her it's okay. Like, just listening to this it just makes me want to just go grab this child. I don't even know her, but that wouldn't happen. The man came up to her and he ripped the tape from her mouth and then he cut it off of her. He cut off the wrists tape and the ankle tape, which I'm sure was a relief, but that real relief would quickly go away because he then tells her to go into his room and he tells her to take off all of her clothes. As a young woman learning about life at thirteen, y'all all know that this is a very sensitive time. And as a mama, this part really hurts my heart because you know, I know her mother was no longer on this earth to tell her that in this moment, Jamie, this isn't your fault. This will never be okay what he is doing, but it will never define you. It will never take away your dignity.

40:56 And you're gonna do this for survival, honey, this is pure survival mode. You know, her mama was gone and nobody was there to be able to tell her this. And I know her mama would have told her. I know she would have if she would have been there with her. But she was on her own at this point, and she was having to do something that goes against everything she's ever been taught and everything that we feel as a thirteen year old girl. A stranger has taken her and now he's forcing her to disrobe with no rhyme and no reason, and it evokes a fire in me that I just cannot explain. You don't do that to a kid. You don't do any of this to anyone, but you don't do that to a kid. And then the man came into the room. She took off all of her clothes and then he took them and he stuffed them into a bag. And then, like something out of a fucking movie like Home Alone comes to mind.

When the criminals, you know, they tell Kevin everything about their evil plan as they're walking through before they go to the steal from the from the toy the toy store, just like in that movie. The man then starts telling young Jamie like what he's gonna do, and that there's gonna be no evidence found. They're not gonna link anything he's doing to what's happening. He said he was gonna throw her clothes away, and that there's gonna be no evidence. No one's gonna know anything of my plan and what I'm gonna do. And the confidence that this ass hat displayed with zero regard for her well being is enough to drive me insane. I'm not a psychologist, nor am I an expert in the realm of the psyche. But to take away the last thing that she has that's hers, her clothes, and to toss them out without a care, it must have just crushed her spirit. You know. It's the last thing she had control over. And her poor mama and her poor daddy remain in the same spot where he murdered them.

42:43 And now she's miles away in an unknown place with an unknown man and certainly an unknown future, and now he's stripped her of her clothing too. Now, he did bring her another pair of clothing, which actually surprised me, But he said, these are my sister's pajamas. And he told her to put them on. She did have something different to put on. With that respect, I'm not giving him any respect. I'm just saying in that regard, he then left the room and unbeknownst to Jamie, but I will let you know, he took her clothes, the duct tape that he'd cut off of her, and then the gloves that he wore and he threw those into a fireplace that he had in his basement in the house. Any evidence that he could destroy, he was going to do it, just like he told Jamie that he was going to do. And to add to the bleak outlook that this child was facing, the accommodations, if you want to call it that, that she was provided while being held captive were less than desirable nor humane. Did she have a room, no, a bed, no, a bathroom? No.

43:44 She would be introduced to his bedroom, which had a bed that he had positioned tactically in the corner of the room where a wall surrounded one side, and the head of the bed and the foot and the outside side edge of the bed were the only thing that were open. And the room looked like she was in like his mom's house or something. So why do I say that because I was looking at some crime scene photos which I'll put on Patreon. And the walls are like this old, outdated wallpaper with green and cream vertical stripes. They've got little small flowers and berries on them, like peppered within the stripes. And the carpet looks like a cheap multi colored blend of like greens and creams and whatever, you know, just kind of old school. And she's kind of like, is this going to be the room that I stay in? Like? Is this my room? Well, sorta what she would have though, as her room was limited to the area under his bed, a twin sized bed to be exact. He said, yeah, you're staying in here, and then he pointed and ordered her under the bed, and she complied, and he forced her to lie there for days on end, with no idea of if it would end, or when it would end, or if she would ever be allowed out. She did have a pillow, it had a leopard print case on it, and she had a green blanket with like a cream underside to it, but that was it. That was her living space. Eighty

45:16 eight days of lying under a bed on her back, staring up and unable to move all day long, unless summoned by the man that had taken her as a captive. So who was this man? Jamie had no freaking clue. She had never seen this guy in her life. So what did he look like? Well, my answer to you is not much. He certainly is not an attractive man by any stretch of the imagination. He wears glasses and their square with like this thin gold frame. She could tell he was white, and he's in his twenties, but clearly experiencing some premature balding the receding. He had brown hair, and the receding of his hair was on both sides of like the temple area, and then he had this thin island or strip of hair in the middle that he was clinging to for dear life. All right, So he didn't look like your typical twenty year old, but she could tell that he was young. He stood about five foot ten. He had this average build about him, and he has kind of a weaker chin. Really, he looks like a dork, and you would think he was a dork if he hadn't been so violent, and she hadn't experienced it. Definitely not someone you would look at and think that they were capable of such levels of violence and brutality if you were not there to eyewitness this person doing it. Her captor though, if you're curious, he wasn't going to stop living his best life as she remained under his bed. Nope, that's not what he was going to do. He still had a life to live.

46:45 He would invite people over, he would have people come visit, like everything was normal. There was one thing though, when all of this would go down, he would snarl in young Jamie's face and warn her that if she made a peep, if there was one sound that came from that bedroom, she would face consequences that would make her parents' demise look like child's play. So while his friends and his family were there and visiting, she better remain completely silent and not make a movement or else. And he also made adjustments to her under the bed prison by blocking it in where she couldn't see her get out. He stacked totes and bins and blocked the openings of the bed, and then he reinforced those with weights think things like you know, barbells and stuff like that, and would reinforce the weight so that if she moved or tried anything he would know and it would make noise, but it was also really hard for her to do because she's laying flat under a low twin bed. She even told the police one time she accidentally moved one of the totes when she was hiding like she was shimmying, and she bumped it and he got pissed and he was screaming at her for that. He started then to make this adjustment that he would play music in his room if anyone was there to doll out any sound, and also to keep her from knowing what he was up to when he was outside of the bedroom. But this would be her life, day in and day out, with little to no food, no water, and no bathroom breaks.

48:10 Now I know you're about to say, wait eighty eight days. Okay. Obviously he did give her some sustenance, but it was not what you should be giving a child. She was also exposed to physical abuse anytime that he would be angered, so he would beat her at a whim, even if she was unsure why and didn't even know what she had done. But no matter what, he made sure to let her know was always her fault and he would strike her with whatever he had, but specifically one thing that he would hit her with, she said, was a handle to something like a tool that you use to like clean blinds or something like that. But it was hard and he would hurt her. He would beat her about the back and the back of the head, and as he was beating the shit out over he would remind her that, you know, every time you make me mad, this punishment's going to get worse, so you keep on.

48:59 So she was basically beaten into submission, and fear was the insurance he used to keep her where he wanted her. Eventually, he over the this eighty eight days, became really comfortable with what he had done to this young girl and felt good that her fear levels were so high that he now knew he could leave the house and she wasn't going to budge. She laid there just like she was commanded to do so, under the bed and did not move. So for example of the things that he would do when you know she was there, or he decided that he wanted to go out and she had to hide, or whatever the reason would be. For starters, his father would come over every Saturday. That was like their custom or their routine. So if Jamie for some reason had been let out from underneath the bed. She knew she would have to go right underneath that bed.

49:48 When that father came over, she couldn't make a sound, and that he was going to turn music up even would start turning up even louder when his dad was there, just to make sure that they weren't alerted to the young girl that was kidnapped and stuffed under his bed. So that's nice, he gets to see his dad, poor mister James. Meanwhile, he'll never see his daughter again, nor will he walk her down the aisle. He'll never see his baby have her own kids. He'll never smell the sweet smell of a newborn grandbaby. He'll get none of that that was stolen from him. But at least this captor gets to see his dad every Saturday. But another time, this was weeks after Jamie was kidnapped. It was around Christmas time. Well, this meant that the captor needed to go see his grandma, and so he decided he was going to leave the house and scared the shit out of Jamie underneath the bed. She knew not to move or she was going to be beaten to death or abused, and so he left, he went to superior. He was gone for twelve hours, and y'all, he knew that this was wrong to do. And the proof of that, if there was ever ever a question, is that he told Jamie she better not move from under the bed, and if she had to use the bathroom, she better just hold it. Don't you do a damn thing while I'm gone.

51:06 And she did not moving for twelve hours from under the bed. And at that point, no food, no water, no bathroom, just lying and waiting for something that just wasn't gonna come. But that was until January tenth of twenty nineteen eighty eight days later, the man told Jamie that he was leaving. He said, I'll be gone for five or six hours, and you better not move. So she got under the bed she was accustomed to doing, and he surrounded her with the bins, and he topped him off with the weights, and she listened as the door shut to the house, and then the car started up and it drove away, and there she was alone to lay there and ponder and think in her little thirteen year old mind of what all was really going on right now and what did she want out of this lifetime? And did she deserve to be there, and why was she there? And that she needed to take control.

52:09 You know, I don't know exactly what she was thinking, and I'm not claiming to know so, but I do know thirteen year old girls, and I know that there's a fire inside of a lot of them. And Jamie had it. There's a fire inside of them. And she decided enough was enough, and she laid there getting more and more frustrated. She had been mistreated, she had been abused, and she was done. She wanted to go home, and that's what she was going to do. And that's when that little girl took the incredibly courageous step of pushing those boxes and those bins, of shoving those weights. She pushed with all of her might. She was able to pick a gap underneath that bed, and she crawled out, completely unaware what lay ahead of her, but willing to take the risk. A young girl who had seen her parents murdered, who had been kidnapped, who had been abused for all this time, was willing to take that risk because she was a fighter, and she missed her family, and she wanted to go home. She wanted to go home more than any punishment. That she may endure by trying to do so. And she made her way through the home. She never saw her captor, and she made her way to the door, and she took her chance, and she ran, and she ran as best as she could to the road, and that's where she ran into that first person she saw, which was Miss Jeanie Nutter. Who, y'all, I don't know if you believe in God, I don't know if you believe in any higher power, but listen to this. Jeanie Nutter just happened to be late walking her dog that day. She would have not normally been

53:40 out at that time. Jeanie Nutter is also a social worker. Of everyone that could have seen that little girl, it was a social worker. And the people who work that job don't get the praise they deserve, but they are involved in cases such as this all the time. She was the perfect person to find Jamie and I don't believe in coincidences. Within minutes of being together and being realized that who the child was, they were at the neighbor's house and they were on the phone with nine one one, and that's when she said her captor's name for the first time. She had learned it the whole time that during her captivity, the operator said, do you know who took her? And that's when she shouted the words.

54:22 His name is Jake Patterson. He killed my parents. He doesn't work, he's unemployed. He's gone from the house. I know that he was in the military. Please hurry. It would turn out that she broke away, y'all at the perfect time. Again, I don't believe in coincidences. At the perfect time, because at the same time the call was being made to nine one one, Jake Patterson, the murderer and the kidnapper, was returning to his house. He had pulled up while they were on the phone with nine one one, and he went inside and that's when he checked on his prisoner, which gave him the shock of a lifetime, because that tiny little girl was gone. So he ran around his house searching for her. He couldn't find her. He started freaking out. He went outside, and that's where he noticed her footprints in the snow, proof that he may have thought he had total control, but that little girl had news for him. She was gone.

55:21 So he ran and he jumped at his car and he slowly started driving around looking for her. Because he thought she's got to be close and I can grab her back. So he drove around for a few minutes, but he just couldn't locate her, and so that's whenever he decided to go back home to create a new plan. But unfortunately for him, Jamie was already with the police and could point remember that cabin next to Genies. Jamie could point to where she had been held captive the whole time, and she also used her memory. She remembered that vehicle and she described it to police, and within eleven minutes of receiving his name and the vehicle description, police located him driving past his home. And I'm assuming he saw the police activity and so obviously was not going to stop at his house, and so he was driving right past his own house when an officer pulled behind him and followed him and then pulled him right over during in a traffic stop, right past his driveway.

56:18 So the officer orders him to get out of the vehicle, and much to his chagrin, Jake realized that it was over before it even started. So as he stepped out of the car, he looked at the cop with confidence and said, I know what this is about. And I did it, and he was promptly placed under arrest, and he would be charged with the armed burglary and two counts of first degree intentional homicide and kidnapping in this case. Now, something I know you have questions about is what all happened to her in those eighty eight days of captivity. And this is one of those times where no charges were filed in relation to the things that happened during Jamie's captivity. But I want to tell you that I think this was completely strategic. If those charges would have been filed, then that information would have become public, and so in an effort to maintain some privacy about what she endured. I completely understand this decision, the charges that he received. Should he be convicted, he's gone for the rest of his life anyway. I know also that we as a society know better than to think that he just took her and kept her under his bed. Okay, he had a motive, and I'm sure she endured things no innocent child should ever be subjected to by a grown man, considering he wrote. He wrote on a piece of paper later on that he fantasized about keeping a young girl, torturing her and controlling her if you want to get into his mindset. So considering the facts of

57:51 the unknown in this regard, it shows just how powerful and strong that little Jamie is because Jake Patterson could have done a lot of things to her, but he couldn't take away her will to survive. So a little bit more about this piece of shit that killed Jamie's parents and kidnapped her for his own use. It turns out that he was twenty one years old with zero criminal record, which I found pretty interesting zero criminal record. Not all evil people start small. Some evil people jump in feet first. He had graduated high school, but he didn't really go anywhere after high school. He was kind of a bump on a log. And he did join the Marine Corps. Remember Jamie said that he had been in the military. But I will not disgrace the military by tying this dude's name to it, because even the Marine Corps was like boy, kick bricks, because after only five weeks of boot camp, they were like, you gotta go, and they sent him pack him. He's not marine material, sim provide to the real Marines out there. People who knew him described him as quiet and he was usually alone and that he never could keep a job long and he had recently been working at the Supudo cheese factory solid two days before up and quitting. Now there's a reason that I told you he had no prior criminal record, and there's a reason that I told you how quiet and unassuming he was, because all of that, combined with the two days that he worked at the cheese factory, are going to be super important to this case.

59:23 How do cases like this happen? How do kidnappers pick their victims? What lengths do they go to to steal our children? This case is already pretty scary, okay, but I want you to know how much planning he did to get her. It's flat out unnerving what this dude did, so I want to share it with you. He worked at that cheese factory for two days and then didn't show back up. Why because during the morning the two mornings that he drove to work, he happened to be behind a school bus on Highway eight. The school bus stopped and was picking up kids on its route, and he was behind the bus both days, and he watched Jamie get picked up both times. He didn't know her, He didn't know how many people lived at her house, but he didn't care. Once he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the little girl that he was going to take and he was going to do whatever was necessary to take her and own her. So after seeing Jamie load that bus that second morning, he instantly began making plans. First, he went and he bought a black mask from Walmart. He wanted to make sure that no one saw his face during the kidnapping. He also drove by their house multiple times prior to the date that he actually took her. Y'all, for a week and a half, he stalked Jamie and no one had a

He even went on a first attempt to get her, but his first attempt never panned out because when he pulled up, he noticed that there were more cars than usual there and there were people walking about in the house. So he decided not to attack that night. He wanted a surprise attack that would be better than having any warning. And just for the record, he doesn't strike me as a very manly man in any way, shape or form, and it was strategic for him not to have anyone up and ready to fight because he probably would have got his ass beat aka he's a friggin coward. He also used that time to make more changes to his plan so that he had better chances of getting away with it.

1:01:40 This included stealing a license plate off of a car that was parked in its yard of a home that was nearby, so that if he got stopped or if he got spotted, it wouldn't trace back to his real identity. He also went home and he disconnected the dome light in his car so it wouldn't illuminate him when he was entering and exiting his car, which by the way, matched the exact description to a t that Jamie gave the police. He also removed his trunk light. His trunk had one of those glow in the dark kidnap anti kidnapping cords, you know what I'm talking about, because of shit like this that happens. He had one of those in his trunk. He went and he disconnected it so that the child he was going to take could not release it once he stuffed her into it. Then he went to the extent of doing extensive research on what type of weapon or gun that he was going to use during the kidnapping. And he set it on taking his father's twelve gage pump action shotgun. It was a Mosburg Why because it was a heavily manufactured and a heavily owned gun, and so in his mind that would make it harder to pin on him or harder to trace, because everybody's got one. He also chose it because he found that it would do the most damage and it would easily kill people, versus bringing a rifle proof that he had planned to kill anyone that got in his way.

1:03:00 He also went to the extreme of wiping down the shelves before he put him in the gun. He wore gloves to do so because he didn't want to leave any DNA or a fingerprint. Y'all. He's doing all of this while these unsuspecting people are at home, just living their life, and he's putting all of this evil into play so that he can take someone that's young and own them and torture them and abuse them. And then his last decision was that he decided to shave his head and to shave his face and then his body everything to shower as well the night of the kidnapping, because he didn't want to leave any hair or any DNA at the scene. He then doubled up his gloves that he wore as well, because in the event that his outer gloves were pulled off for damage, he would have a second pair underneath. That means that this man worked at this He worked to ensure that there were no eyewitnesses and that he got away with this girl he wanted as his personal toy. And I can't get past that. But unfortunately for him, the child he happened to choose was a fighter, and no matter what she faced, she persevered. When the police got her into their custody and she was safe, she was welcomed home to the loving arms of her aunt, Jennifer, who was shocked beyond belief to find that her niece was alive. She couldn't believe it. Y'all know, I take these cases personal when I tell these stories, and I want these victims to not only be known, but I want them to be celebrated for the people that they are and the victims

And so I looked up Denise's Jamie's mama's Facebook and on Denise's last birthday post to her daughter on Facebook, she wrote this is a direct quote happy birthday to my daughter, who is growing up to be the sweetest and most kind hearted girl. I love you to the moon and back. I hope you have the best day ever. And I just that was the lasting words to me from a mama who loved her girl. She had no clue out how strong her girl was either. I bet you she raised the hell of a girl. Jamie did spend the first night out of captivity at the hospital before she was released to her family, and her grandpa Rod was the very first one to see her, and the old man's eyes welled up with tears as he wrapped her up in a bear hug. And that struck me too. The last thing she ever felt of her mama was a bear hug, and the first thing she felt when she was returned to her family was a bear hug. And I found just peace in that whenever I learned it. So how's Jamie, I'm glad you asked.

1:05:34 Jamie is being raised by her aunt Jennifer and her uncle Bob, and her aunt said, I'll never take her mom's place. Her mom will always be her mom, and I'll let her know that I am her aunt, but I'll be a mom to her too, and I just I think that's absolutely beautiful. Today, Jamie's thriving, she continues to do well. I did do some sleuthing and it looks like she graduated from high school. And from what I saw, she has mature into such a wholesome and lovely young lady. And everything I saw too picture why she is encapsulated with love by her aunt and by her family. I'm sure that day to day she navigates the ebbs and flows of the grieving process, but always with her steadfast family by her side. Well as for Jake Patterson, though he's not having as much fun. He was sentenced to two life sentences for murdering Jamie's parents, as well as an additional twenty five years for her kidnapping.

1:06:29 And he didn't just go to jail and like hide away. No, he's actually been reportedly to be in fights with other inmates. And these inmates I found were fighting him in the New Mexico prison. So I was curious this happened in Wisconsin. Why was he moved to New Mexico. Well, it turns out he had to be moved for his safety because the real g's are going to handle him. Okay, they had to move him for his safety, which I call bullshit because his victims didn't get that luxury. But whatever, I understand, and we got a constitution uphold. According to the New Mexico Corrections Department, two inmates also approached Patterson and told him to leave their pod because of his case involving a fourteen year old girl. Y'all know there's a code in prison, and you'll leave the kids alone.
