0:06 Welcome to Unspeakable, a true crime podcast. Or I tell stories of real crimes with real victims whose cases are so shocking that many are left wondering how is this even real? I use my experiences in law enforcement corrections, and combined with my years as a criminal justice educator, dig deep into complex cases of evil acts, some so evil many feel they are unspeakable.
0:50 Warning. Unspeakable as intended for mature audiences. If you are easily offended, then I'm not your girl. Listening discretion is advised. Hey y'all, kJ He're back for another episode of Unspeakable. How is it going? I got to tell you we finished Fallfest this weekend. I had such a good time. Thank you to every single person that came by and told me hello and bought merch from me and all of that. Your support means everything. Also, something that was so touching to me. If you're a new listener, maybe you met me or heard me speak at that Live Oak Junior High event for kids where I kind of churched up an episode and talked to them about the dangers of online social media. I could tell you five to six kids, and maybe that doesn't mean a lot to you.
1:31 It meant the world to me. Five to six kids came up to me at Springfest excuse me, fall Fest and said, are you that lady that came and spoke to us? I said, yeah, that was me, and they said thank you for coming. I actually went in and turned off all my Snapchat locations so that nobody can find me. And to me, you can't quantify what that means because a child never kidnapped as a win, but how do you quantify that? You know? So meant a lot to me. If you are local and you have outreached that you want done at your elementary school, or your middle school, middle school or mental school, hell, just reach out to me. You can email me Unspeable of the podcast at gmail dot com and I'll be happy to see what I can fit into my schedule. Also, it's breast cancer Awareness month, Heller.
2:14 If you've got boobies, go get them things checked. We need you around, We need you to be here for your family and your friends, and so to everyone who's done so already, great job this year. If not, go get it done. And if you're fighting the good fight right now, I'm there with. You and you can do this. Trust me, you can do this. And all the power to you, all my prayers and all blessings from above if you're fighting that battle now. The episode today is one that I. Y'all, I hate this girl. Hate is such a strong word. You shouldn't say that, but I'm saying it because if you know who Casey Anthony is, you gotta be there with me already.
2:55 The Jesus loves her and I'm trying. That's all I can tell you. But when I found out that allegedly on TikTok, that she is supposedly dating a married father of two, it just brought her back up in my mind. I had put her aside because she just is so irrelevant to my world. But she's back, and I thought, you know what, we need to talk about that ho. So that's why I'm here today. I'm gonna talk about this episode in this case. And look, by now, I know we all probably know Casey Anthony. I remember watching the trial. I was so invested in it whenever it came up, and it's been a frequent also request of people that keep sending me my listeners saying, hey, will you please do the Casey Anthony case.
3:40 And so I'm gonna oblige you. I'm gonna do it today. And my perspective though, is going to be more of you know, so many people say how could thirty one days go by? How and not necessarily just with. Casey Anthony, but with her parents not seeing the child for thirty one days. So my perspective is more of. From the viewpoint of what the parents of Casey Anthony would have gone through, if that makes sense. So we're going to go back to Orlando in two thousand and eight. I know exactly where I was when this case really jumped to the forefront because I had just given birth to my first born and just three days prior. Matter of fact, she was three days old when this entire case started, but I wouldn't know it obviously until years later whenever it went to trial. So when my then three day old baby girl was born when this went to trial, she was then the exact same age that Kaylee Anthony was whenever the case took place. So it just she looked like my little girl too, and something about it just pulled at my heart strings because I couldn't imagine what these people went through. And it all started with that infamous nine to one one call that spiraled out of control from a mother who was upset with her daughter because the daughter had stolen money, and then it ended unexpectedly with an admission that her then granddaughter was kidnapped. George and Cindy Anthony, right, these were
5:11 the grandparents. They met at a hospital back in nineteen like the nineteen eighties, and that's whenever George's sister was in the hospital and Cindy was actually a nurse that was there, and so they met in the hospital and would then date and marry in nineteen eighty one and they got married in Ohio and he was working as a police officer. He was an undercover drug agent with the local Sheriff's office, and Cindy was working as a nurse. Cindy looks like the proverbial you know mom, I don't know. She's got that short, short haircut, and she's a pretty lady.
5:52 She cares about her kids, and she is trying to be the best mama that she can be. George Anthony, he's a nice looking man. He's now going to be older whenever this case really comes to the forefront. He's got that white hair and he's real tan he's got dark eyebrows, well spoken. Both of them are articulate people and just seemed to be good people when their life pretty much blew up in front of the world. So they got married. They eventually became the loving parents to two children. It was going to be older brother. His name was Lee Anthony. He was born in nineteen eighty two, and then four years later came Casey Anthony in nineteen eighty six. So when this is really going to start taking place, though, is when Casey was nineteen and Lee was now in his mid to late twenties. So Casey's nineteen and she's still living at home. Lee had moved out, and the Anthony's are unexpectedly blessed with a granddaughter named Kaylee.
6:53 And I say unexpectedly because Casey wasn't married or anything. She was nineteen. She became pregnant and she was not self sufficient, she was not out on her own. So they took the you know, took over, I guess, and said, look, we'll support you through this pregnancy. We are going to help you with this child, and we're going to do everything we can for the both of you no matter what happens. And something about the pregnancy too. I don't think a lot of people know this is that they didn't find out about Casey's pregnancy right on. They didn't find out until she was like six to seven months pregnant. She wouldn't tell them. She kind of kept it a secret until it came to the point that it was like she had to say something because she was getting round, you know, and they were going to figure it out. So she told her mom first, and then they all sat down together on the couch in the house and Cindy and Casey were like, look, we need to tell you something to mister George, and that's when they let him know you're going to be a grandpa. Casey is pregnant, and being quite honest, you know, George.
7:54 Wasn't that thrilled at first. He's like, my god, you're nineteen, you're not married, you don't have anything established, you know what about your education. But quickly, very quickly, he came around and was soon very elated to know that he was going to have a grand baby, a little girl, and he could not. Wait to love on her. So both Cindy and George were in the delivery room whenever Kaylee was born and you know. They described it as just overwhelming, They just overwhelming joy something so incredibly special, not only to see a child born, but to see your own child fight to go through labor and then bring their grandchild into the world. They both found it to be incredibly special, incredibly moving, and were touched to be a part of that journey. So after Kaylee was born, it kind of became apparent pretty quickly that they were going to be more than just helping Casey. They were really going to be raising her, doing a majority of the work. This wasn't officially on paper or anything like that, but everybody who knew them knew that Casey wasn't really the mom. You know, she gave birth, but she wasn't the caretaker. The grandparents really were the ones that really doted on her. Casey may have given birth to her, but Casey Casey's parents were the only true constance in her life that provided stability and love that only a caring, mature.
9:22 Person would be able to provide for a child. Casey was never a person who struck me as anything but selfish, So she seemed to someone who would just say whatever came to mind, whatever you know, would appease the moment and make it easier for Casey. It wasn't necessarily what was best for or the truth of what was going on. For example, no one even knows who Kaylee's father is. Like to this day, no one has been able to identify who the father of Kayleie is. Kaylee was born on August ninth of two thousand and five, and whenever she was born, Casey supposedly said that her fiance at the time his name was Jesse Grund, supposedly he was the father of Kaylee. But then later on she switched and said that, oh no, it's this other guy.
10:14 He died in a car crash and he's the actual true father of Kaylee. So when she did say that she was pregnant, George wanted to know who the father was, and, as any man who wanted to protect his daughter would, he was like, look, who is this guy. I'd like to get to know him, and I want to honestly know what are his plans to take care of you and the responsibility of this baby that's coming into the world. But that kind of turned into a crapshoot, I guess because Casey wasn't really forthcoming with that, and George decided just to let it go. It wasn't worth a fight at that moment. The baby's coming either way. They all believed though, when she was born, that Jesse was the father, and they opened their home to him. Although George's first impression of him was not very good. He was not impressed with him when he first met him, but he was gonna do what he thought was best to keep things, you know, happy, in the home so that they could raise this baby together kind of as a family. But eventually Jesse went and got a paternity test and then guess what happened from there in Maury Povich style, Jesse, you are not the father. But Casey didn't get up and run off camera and scream and holler. She just remembers switched the story and was like, oh, well, it must be the guy that died. How convenient never really knew for a fact who it was. So how do you not know your baby daddy? Like for real, though, how do you not know? Or is it the fact that you lied to give men a reason to stay
11:48 with you even though you didn't know, because you're kind of like, uh, you know, that's allegedly I don't know who all she was banging, but she surely didn't know her baby's daddy. We'll just leave it at that. Whatever the reason, Casey's parents did what decent people do and they just decided to keep helping her. So, like I said, George was a police officer. He had worked his way up to detective, which you're not going to make detective if you're not a good police officer. And Cindy was a nurse who had now by this point, worked her way up into a management position overseeing. All in all, they were. A successful, middle class family and they had a nice home on a quiet street in Orlando. After Kaylee was born, there was a time that Cindy and George kind of went through a marital rut and they were struggling financially.
12:41 Seemed to be what the issue was. And then it was exacerbated by the fact that George started doing some online gambling and it just kind of, you know, tipped them over the edge. Cindy got mad and it was just bad timing and it really tested the waters in their marriage, so much so that for a few months George even moved out, but eventually he did come back home. He didn't do anything devious. It wasn't evil. I just think from my observations, it was an overwhelming stress that had been building it just like I said, tipped him over the edge and they took a break from one another. But they did love one another. They did work things out, and George moved back into the home.
13:23 They all loved their granddaughter. When I say loved, I mean doted on her for all three years of her life up until this case kind of took off. Kayleie y'all, by the way, is absolutely precious. If you don't know this case, I'm gonna put pictures up on my Patreon and on Facebook and all that. You can google her and you can look her up. My favorite picture of her, by far is the one where her chin is kind of resting on her little hands and she's gazing off into the distance and she's just angelic. She's, you know, just just a precious baby girl. And that's not someone just said that because she's the center of this case. She literally is absolutely precious. The other one that grabbed my attention about, you know, of her is she's itty bitty. I think she's sitting in a car seat if I remember properly, and she's got on a baseball cap and she's just staring into the camera.
14:17 And it's selfishly one that I think about and am drawn too, because I have almost an exact same photo of my own daughter, like I told you, who was the same age at the time this came about, and she has the same hat on, and it's just so relatable to look at. It's like I'm looking at my own kid. You can't help but just want to just ough hug her, grab this baby up and love on her. So Kaylee. Marie Anthony was just I have three years old when this took off. She had shoulder lengked brown hair. She had her little bangs and her little teeth, y'all. They were so sweet. She still had the little toddler teeth.
14:58 They had the kind of little gaps behind, you know, between them, and they're rounded and cute, you know, before your teeth fall out and then we all go through the wacky face of struggling with those teeth when we're growing into them. She was almost three feet tall. She was a little tiny thing. She has big, hazey kind of brownish hazely eyes and fair skinned, itty bitty thing. A little birthmark on her left shoulder was like a little line on her shoulder, and she oozes innocence. And her pictures she's often seen carrying a little baby doll or she's wearing her little plastic jewelry and feeling fancy about herself. Fake. Sure, cheap, little crap jewelry from Walmart, Yes, but that little baby felt fancy in it. She loved it, and she also loved her mommy. She didn't know how much her mommy would be a liar. She didn't know how much her mom honestly kind of dumped her off with the grandparents. She didn't realize all of that. She didn't think about the fact that her mom acted more like an immature sister than she did a mother. Casey was the only person that she knew to call mama, and she loved her mommy instinctually, that natural love from a kid.
16:16 And Cindy and George Anthony gave Kaylee everything, everything that that child could want. So they were known as Jojo and Ceci to her, and they were obsessed with her. They loved her two pieces. They even gave her her own bedroom, decorated it to the hill top to bottom, it was a Winnie. The Pooh theme. They put a pool in the backyard and even a playhouse, and that playhouse was so. Decorated and so cutesy. It even had its own mailbox on it so she could play male in her little house. Hugs and kisses and homed cooked meals they were the norm in this household.
16:57 And they constantly took pictures of this little granddaughter that they loved fiercely. God did they love her now. Casey had been employed at Universal Studios prior to her pregnancy, and after completing her maternity leave, she had returned to work and things were kind of looking up for the single mom. She was adjusting and she was going to work, and her parents decided, you know, like I said, they're going to help her, but you've got to work hard, and you've got to have determination, and you've got to go do the right things, Casey. And eventually, if you do this, you're you may be on your own and feel like you're on your own right now, but we are here. Eventually you'll succeed. But right now, we are committed and we will be your safety net. But you've got to work at this.
17:42 You're a mom now. So Casey would get up every day. Every morning, she would get dressed, she would put on her Universal Studios uniform, even attaching her ID from so she could scan in, tell her parents by, and then she would head off to work. She returned late in the evening, tired from the event planning that was her job at Universal, so she was consistent. She maintained this employment for you know, two years and then beyond. And she also had told her parents that she had gotten a part time job or an additional job at the local sporting store of the sports authority. But eventually, and you know, I don't think that the Anthony's get enough credit for this. The parents.
18:25 You know your kids, good, bad, are and different. You know your kids. And George kind. Of started having a feeling that Casey was lying about having a job at that sports authority. He was like thinking to himself, I don't know if she really works here. I remember he's a detective, or he was a detective. He had moved on to another job at this point. And I don't know why he felt this. I don't have answers. I just know that his gut was telling him, I don't know if she's going to work, and he was curious enough that one day he actually drove up to the sports Authority when she was working and he was going to take Casey to lunch. He was going to be kind to her and take her to lunch. And when he arrived, he walked in and he asked the greet there, Hey, I'm George Anthony. I'm Casey Anthony's dad.
19:07 Can you tell me where she is? And the worker kind of screwed up his face and looked at him and said who, And he said Casey Anthony and he was like, I don't know anybody that works here by that name. So George then said, well, can I speak to your manager? Then a manager came out. He introduced himself again said my daughter works here, and the manager said I'm sorry, sir, but there's nobody that works here by the name of Casey Anthony. So his thoughts were really confirmed. I'm sure he was very disappointed in this, like why would you lie about that? Why would you lie about a second job? Like damn? So when he got home, he brought what he had found out to Sindy's attention. But this was also kind of during that time of their marital troubles that they were having, and it just began a fight, which seemed to kind of just you know, they had a lot going on right now and they were kind of in a rough spot. It just started a fight. Casey's claiming that Dad's lying. Mom's already irritated with Dad, and so it just seemed best if they dropped it rather than just continuing to open that can of worms and start, you know, attacking Casey and fuscinate Casey.
20:13 So they did. They dropped it. Well. George had moved by this point to a security based job and he was working now shifts from three pm to eleven pm, while Cindy had more traditional hours of like eight to five pm. So although life can look like really good, you know from the outside, behind closed doors, and y'all, this is the same for all of us, and we have to get over the fact that we struggle behind door. Everybody's got struggles behind closed doors. I do, Jim does, We all do. We all have our own personal problems. And I'm not judging the Anthonys for letting that argument go. I think sometimes you just have to let things go for the peace and sanity of the home.
20:55 So they had these traditional hours, or Cindy did, and George is working at night, and all though it looked good on the outside, behind closed doors, they had struggles and they had frustrations, just like all of us. So it was on June fifteenth of two thousand and eight. It was Father's Day and the Anthony household had average plans for that day. George had to work. And Cindy decided that she was going to take little Kaylee to see her great grandfather. So this would have been Cindy's dad, and her dad was living in a nursing home. Kaylee loved visiting him. She called him Papa, or her papa as she would say. And so they hung out for a while at the nursing home. They colored, they sang songs, and she just snuggled up on the old man in such a simple but organically natural show of love.
21:44 From a child, and it was beautiful. After they had that little lovely visit, they went back home and Cindy put her in her little swimsuit. Cindy put on hers, and they went outside and they swam together in the backyard, just enjoying each other's company and absorbing these precious moments, laughing splashing and just enjoying the ease of a Sunday. Her favorite movies, by the way, when they got out of the pool and watched some TV. Her favorite movies were one hundred and one Dalmatians, which Kaylee called Daldao, and she loved Lady. In the Tramp. And I'm gonna have to applaud her because I think those are two great choices. I love Lady in the Tramp. Now, Casey wasn't with them during this day, So where was Casey. Casey was with her new boyfriend. His name was Tonya Lazarro, and she was with him all day.
22:31 She actually didn't return to the house until around seven thirty that evening. Now his name was Anthony, but he went by Tony Tony Lazarro. How did she meet this guy? Well, I'm gonna tell you because I kind of think it lends itself to what kind of person Casey was. Tony was kind of like a promoter, and he liked to throw parties and do all the stuff like young twenty somethings are really into. And so he had made a Facebook post, like an event on Facebook, and he invited everyone that they were all friends with him and his friend groups. A friends group, he. Invited everyone that they could in a mass invite to his buddy's birthday party that they were throwing for him. Well, it turns out Casey was one of the people in the hundreds of invites that they sent out, and she actually responded and said yes, I'm coming. So when she got there, the two of them kind of hit it off.
23:21 They started hanging out together. He thought she was hot, and so they started spending more time together. Even after the party. She would go by his apartment and they would go do stuff. She occasionally brought Kaylee with her. One time I know that she went over there with Kaylee. They went down to the pool and they swam, and he would see Kaylee on other occasions whenever, like, for instance, one time he was going to the mall to hand out these flyers to promote a club like a club appearance that would be our party that was going on, and so Casey and Kaylee went with him. They split off into their own thing when he was done. Then they met back up and they went NATed the cheesecake factory. But he didn't. He didn't like father Kaylee or spend an enormous amount of time with Kaylee.
24:07 It was more like, oh, this is a girl and Dayton and she has a daughter. So Casey's family had a regular evening and by that night everyone was settled in and they were ready, you know, to start the work week to come. The following day, which would have been Monday, June sixteenth, Cindy left out for work around seven thirty in the morning, and George Anthony got up really early that morning and he decided that he was gonna have breakfast with Kaylee, and that was normal. He would get up with their. Feeder, they would color watch TV, all that jazz. Casey didn't get up until around eleven, and when she did get up, she did, you know, some stuff. Before she got dressed. She logged into her social media. She was texting her boyfriend. Then she got ready for work, and I just I'm gonna let you know that Casey was very into her social media. That was like her persona.
24:56 She was always logged into it, always uploading photos, you know whatever for young people that might be listening. She was getting on things like MySpace, and MySpace was the original Facebook. I guess if you want to think of it that way, it's now you know out nobody uses it anymore, but there was MySpace, and Facebook was kind of like the Instagram of the time, if you need something to kind of compare it to. After this, when she got ready and had messaged her boyfriend and uploaded some stuff, there was a break in her social media usage for just a little bit. And then shortly before noon. Casey was back on the computer and she was uploading a picture from the Fusion Nightclub to her photo bucket account online. Then her boyfriend Tony called her. This is about eleven forty seven am and they had about a twenty minute conversation before Casey left the house.
25:50 When she left, Casey took Kaylee with her. Kaylee was dressed in a pink shirt, blue shorts, a backpack, and I think she did have sunglasses on, if I'm not mistaken. So George walked out to the car with them. He kissed and hugged on his little grand baby. He told her goodbye. Casey strapped her into the car seat and backed out of the driveway. They were out and about and on their way. Casey though, I've got to jump back in here real quick and tell you that Casey was a difficult person. To love. And what do I mean by that? Casey is so incredibly self indulgent, very self.
26:31 Centered. It's all about Casey her life. Everyone else is just like. You know, She's main character energy, I guess, and everybody else is just kind of in it. She thought a lot of herself, and I'm not saying this to be me and her judge. She did. And she is traditionally pretty, if I'm being honest. She's about five foot one, she's skinny, she's got big boobs. Okay, guys liked her. She had short, brown, sassy like Bob little haircut. She's got big blue eyes. She does have elf ears though, and yes I said it. Her ears look like the Keebler elf but her hair kind of hid them. And by the way, shout out to the Keebler elves if you think are be and me into them.
27:13 I do love their cookies. You guys, keep cooking and doing what you do, all right, But she's got these elf ears that are pointed. She loved to go out and party, she loved to dress up, she loved tight clothing, she liked to show off, and she really loved being the center of attention, thriving off of male attention. But when I'm telling you this, I do keep this in mind. She was in her early twenties, and some of her social behaviors, I guess, do align. With that age group, Okay, young twenties. Regardless, though, she left the parenting of Kaylee mainly to her parents, and I got the feeling that she really only quote unquote parented Kaylee when there was a photo opportunity or she was being praised being a mom. If you know the type of person I'm talking about, she was that. But before she drove away with Kaylee on Father's Day, she told her parents that she was gonna have Kaylee spending the night with a nanny and that nanny's name was Zenaida Gonzalez and she called her Zanny for short, and Kaylee that morning even came out and when her papa asked her, Hey, what what you doing today?
28:26 Or what you know? What do y'all doing? Just in small talk and conversation, Kaylee even told him going to Zannie's. So as they backed out of that driveway. George Blue Kaylee a kiss, said Jojo loves you. She responded, I love you, Jojo, And then Casey, as we know, drove away. As she drove away, she also exchanged a few more text messages with Tony, her boyfriend. That night, once Kaylee was safe with Zanny, Casey decided to step out and go to Blockbuster with the boyfriend to rent a movie. And here's where I stopped, like the the little old lady that I am, and I explain what a. Blockbuster is to the youngins who may not know what that means in.
29:07 Your world of Netflix and YouTube. But Blockbuster used to be a store where you would go in and all the new releases of movies would be there on VHS. Which is the old school type of movies. And you would browse that and then you would pick a movie, check it out, go watch it, and then you would have to return it. Now, since this is a case that a majority of people have heard of before, my position on the next part of this is going to be I want to give you the next thirty days or so from the viewpoint of Casey's parents, Kaylee's grandparents, as well as kind of like some evidence that comes out and as it happens, so you know, I could be telling you the story like we think it goes and they come back and then call her out on things that aren't what they see. But instead, a lot of people always go how could the grandparents who basically raise the child, how could they know that they haven't seen their grandchild in thirty one days and just not have a problem with that.
30:08 Well, I'm going to present it to you from their viewpoint. So it's June sixteenth, and it's seven forty eight pm when Casey and Tony entered that store to rent the movies that they wanted to And I want you to know in the video if you watch them, because there was closed circuit television. They are cuddled up together, Casey's under his arm. They're nonchalantly browsing the aisles. They're looking at the movie options, and they eventually settled on two different movies that they thought looked interesting. They walked to the counter, they they checked them out or they rent them, and then they leave there. They go back to Tony's apartment with his roommates, where they all watch one of the movies on June Tuesday, June seventeenth, the next day, Casey stayed at the apartment of Tony until about two o'clock in the afternoon, and she then went back to her parents' house from about two forty five to four thirty, and her car was seen backing into the garage at the Casey Anthony home. And that's according to their neighbor Brian, who was across the street, who happened to see it through his window because of there, he's right there, and he just noticed that she had backed the car into the garage when asked her, when the grandparents or her parents asked, hey, where's Kaylee tonight, she again says that Kaylee's staying with Zanny, the nanny, and she stayed with her boyfriend Tony Lazzarro that night. The next day, Wednesday,
31:42 June eighteenth, cell phone records of Casey's showed that she was near Tony's apartment until around twelve thirty pm. Also, between twelve thirty and one point fifteen, Casey did attempt to call her parents house to get in touch with them, and they didn't answer. They weren't there. And again that neighbor, Brian Berner, sees Casey show up and back her car into the garage. It was around one thirty. He estimates that Casey, who he didn't speak to, that he was not close with. He just kind of knew her in passing just as a neighbor, sometimes seeing her.
32:27 He says, it's around one thirty when Casey comes over and says, can I borrow a shovel from you? She has it, he says, for about an hour or so, and then she brings it right back and returns it to them to him that day, George worked from three to eleven, so he wasn't home when this occurred. And you know, Cindy had those regular hours, so she would have been working until five five thirty. Whenever Cindy gets home though, he starts saying, look, I hadn't seen Kaylee in a couple of days. Where is she. I really want to see her. I miss her? And Casey says, oh, well, we're going to a conference in Tampa for work. A bunch of us are having to go to this conference. So Kaylee is going to be with Zanni again, and then these two others, Juliet and Annabelle. So Juliette, Annabelle and Zanni are all going to be together and I'll be at the conference.
33:26 Now. I'm going to tell you now, the reality is that that's not true, because Casey stayed the night with Tony again that night. The next day, Thursday, June nineteenth, two thousand and eight, George didn't work on this day, so he was home and he likes spending time with his baby granddaughter. Casey was at Tony's though the entire day, or near Tony's the entire day, because they were both out looking for apartments for Tony. They were together and they did it all day and didn't get back until about nine o'clock that night because the lease was coming up on his apartment. And he was looking for a new one.
34:06 On Friday, June twentieth, the next day, it's now been five days without the Anthony's seeing their baby granddaughter, and George again isn't working, and Cindy is like, look, I want to see Kaylee. I haven't seen her in a week. Can you please bring her over? But Casey tells her mom, we're actually still at the conference where at Busch Gardens, and it's gonna roll over into Saturday because there's more than I realized, and so we'll be here. Sonny. He's like, all right, But. In reality, what happened that night was that Casey went to a club called Fusion, and she partied all night.
34:47 She even entered a hot body contest that night, where she was photographed doing so smiling right in her blue little mini dress. She's there with a girl named Jamie Rielander, who Casey met from a friend and through the Fusion nightclub. That's kind of like they all kind of went there a lot. Jamie Rielander was actually in the hot body contest with Casey, so there's no question that this really happened, and there's photographs of her being there. She was not at Bush Gardens, but her mother and father believed. That she was. So the next two days, which had been June twenty first and twenty second, which are a Saturday and a Sunday, Casey never went home to her parents' house. But again her mother is asking, where's Kaylee. I'd like to see Kaylee.
35:36 And that's whenever Cindy kept pressing to see her again. I want to see her, and Casey kind of put her off again a little bit more that you know, they were doing stuff together. But a friend of. Tony Lazarro's, or the roommate of Tony Lazarro's girlfriend, was over at the apartment for a little while. Her was Maria Kish, and she even asked Casey, Hey, where's Kaylee. I haven't seen her in a while. And Casey says, oh, she's at the beach. She's at it on a beach trip at the beach. Doesn't jive with what she's been telling everybody else, But nobody's really connecting the dots here that she's telling different people different things.
36:19 Now. Maria kish at the time. She worked for a county campaign at that time, and she dated, like I said, one of the roommates. His name was Clint House. Maria was not close with Casey. She was definitely not close with Kaylee, but she had met Kaylee a couple of times and she was very kind to the little girl. And one time before this date, whenever Marie was over at the apartment, she was out on the balcony and I guess, I don't know if she was smoking or what she was doing, but she was just sitting out on the balcony of the apartment. And then it was time for her to leave to go out to eat or go party or whatever with her boyfriend. But she was really concerned and worried didn't want to leave because Kaylee was alone by herself outside on that porch. Unattended, and even Maria, who's not a mother, was kind of like, I mean, I don't think this is good. Where's her mom?
37:12 She's not watching her and that kind of bothered her. Another time she was over there, that Kaylee was over there, she said that Casey came out of the boyfriend's room, Tony's room and said, Kaylee, put on your socks and shoes, were about to leave, but didn't help her, and so Maria went over there because little Kaylee was struggling to put her shoes and socks on, and Maria went over to help her put her little socks and shoes on. So she didn't know the little girl really well, but she just wondered, you know, where has she been. I haven't seen her in days, like in a week, over a week at least. And again she says, oh, she's at the beach. So Sunday, June twenty second, this is when Cindy is really upset and she says, where is my granddaughter? I want to see her and I want to see her now. Casey continues on saying that they're still at Bush Gardens and that because it went late, she's got Kaylee. They're gonna stay over some more and we're gonna go to the park and hang out. She's with me, she's fine, Quit aggravating me, and I'll be home when I get home. On Monday, June twenty third, Casey's cell phone shows that she's at Tony's until one thirty PM, and she didn't head over to her mother's house until around two thirty. She did call her boyfriend Tony about two forty five saying that her car had run out of gas. So Tony did what boyfriends do.
38:42 He went and he found her and picked her up, and he took her to her parents' house where they break into George Anthony's shed in the backyard and they take the parents' gas cans. The parents were not home whenever. This happened, so Cindy is also now starting to really press her about Kaylee. She spoke to her about five thirty PM, and Casey adds that, well, we've had another setback. Zanni was in an accident and she's in the hospital in Tampa. So Kaylee is going to be staying with Juliette and Annabelle while I tend to Zanni in the hospital because she's pretty hurt. Cindy's aggravated but okay, But the phone records show that she was at her dad's house taking the gas can at that same time that she's claiming she's at.
39:38 The hospital with Zanni. The next day, June twenty fourth, that's when George Anthony decides that he was going to mow their lawn. So he goes out to get the gas cans and the mower, and he realizes that the law is broken and that the shed's been broken into. So he called the sheriff's office and he even made a report that someone had burglarized his shed, and he fills out a report for the sheriff's deputy, and then he even goes and tells that neighbor, Brian Berner, the one that had seen Casey backing into the carport, that look, you need to be careful, there's a burglar out. And then and they're breaking into people's sheds. Now, George had a new job interview at six point thirty that evening, so although he was home, he normally would not have been there on this day.
40:30 So Casey would have known that, right, and so that's why some of this probably went down the way that it did. Around two point thirty pm, Casey showed up at the house in her white, you know, Pontiac Sunfire, and it's kind of surprised that her dad. Was still there. They're asking. George says, look, we miss Kaylee and we've never gone this long without her. I want to see her, and he's kind of thinking, you know, I wonder. If Casey he might have taken my gas cans and been the one that broke into my shed again. Why he thought that, I don't know, but George knows his kid, and guess what he He tells her. He says, look, I need to go get something from your car. I'll be right back, and he goes out there and he's gonna go look in the trunk, but before he can do that, Casey runs and cuts him off, opens the trunk.
41:27 They start arguing about the gas cans. Casey flips open her trunk, pulls out the gas can, slams it shut, throws him out him and says, here's. Your fucking gas cans. And then she jumps in her car and immediately starts calling her mom and I'm gonna tell you what I think. There's a reason she didn't want him looking in her trunk number one, number two. I think Casey purposefully pit her mother and her father against each other on purpose because it would take the heat off of her, and she. Knew manipula, manipatively. That her parents would start arguing with each other because of their struggles, and it would kind of, you know, throw her in the background. She then a little bit later that day, messages a friend Troy Brown, on Facebook, and amongst other things they talk about, says, I haven't been at my parents' house for the last nine days because of drama.
42:22 But we know that's not true. June twenty fifth, The next day, Casey tells her friend Amy heisanga that there's this awful smell coming from her car and she thinks that it's coming from the engine. And this is in messages. We can see in these messages that are going back and forth, and Cindy again is saying, where's Kaylee. I want to see Kaylee, and she's put off by Casey again with another excuse. The next day, June twenty sixth, Casey is at Tony's all day long and Cindy's asking again for Kaylee, and that's when Casey says Zanni was released from the hospital today, so we're gonna go ahead and stay at the hotel with her and help her out. But everything's fine, We're all together, don't worry about it. June twenty seventh, which is a Friday, Casey's phone shows at around eleven am.
43:16 She's near her parents house, and she spends a half hour or so, you know, texting and doing some mother things. Within minutes of her texting Tony, her boyfriend, about whatever, her car runs out of gas again, so she calls Tony to come and get her, which he does again. She pulls some stuff out of her car, which includes a bag full of clothes and some items that he thought were like from a refrigerator video. Then sees them together later at J. C. Penny's at around two point fifty one pm that day, where Casey bought some shoes because because that night they were going back out clubbing at Club Fusion. Cindy starts asking for Kaylee again, and Casey says, look, we're back in town, but I had a really late evening. I'm meeting with Jeff Hawkins and we're gonna be staying with him at the Hard Rock Hotel, and Jeff Hawkins is supposed to be a guy that they're talking business with. Jesse Grunn, who was remember the former fiance of hers that they thought was Kaylee's father but turns out not to be, is chatting with her.
44:34 They're still friendly and talking and at one point he says, well, how's you know, where's Kaylee? What are y'all doing or whatever? And she says, oh, she's with the nanny. It just kind of is conflicting. The stories don't match. And whenever Amy, her friend that I previously mentioned before, asked about Kaylee again, she tells her she's at the beach. So there's one thing. If you're gonna be a liar, you better be fucking good at it, because it's gonna start catching up with you. The next two days or a weekend, the June twenty eighth and June twenty ninth, she tells Cindy, Oh, we're still at the hard Rock Hotel, but the phone records show that she's actually at Tony's and they rented a movie again. The next day, which would have been Monday, June thirtieth, Tony had a pre planned trip that he was going with his family to New York or with his mom to New York, and so Casey went and dropped them at the airport, and while he was gone, he says, hey, you can use my car, because remember her car breaks down and she never has any gas.
45:35 Hers is still out of gas. And where they had left it the last time when he went and picked her up was at an Amscott. Well the car was still there, and so the Amscott calls a toe company because the car was next to the dumpster and no one had claimed it or come to get it, and it was now aggravating to them and they wanted it out of their parking lot. So Johnson's record comes and they tow it to their lot in South Orlando. Now little side note, it's going to stay there until July fifteenth, so another fifteen days or so. So right now, while all of that's happening, Casey is seen on camera at Target shopping again, and then she goes back to J. C.
46:19 Penny's shopping some more. And then she goes back to Target again shopping some more. So I know you're wondering about Casey and how is she getting all of this money to go shopping, And the answer is that when she needed money, her parents basically would give it to her. Even if they were struggling, they would give it to her. And my gist of things is that Casey's paycheck was Casey's and whenever she needed more money, her parents would just give it to her because they didn't want Kaylee to be without. Cindy, though, is now pushing and she's pushing really hard for Kaylee, and Casey says, mom, she's with Jennifer Rosa, that's Zanny's roommate, and we're gonna be staying with them until July third, and she tells Cindy that Jennifer and Kaylee are gonna go to Universal Studios.
47:13 The week of June thirtieth through the fourth of July weekend, Cindy was on vacation and she was be damned if she was gonna spend a week off on vacation without her granddaughter giving her some love and playing with her and swimming and doing all the fun things that she wanted to do with her granddaughter. And y'all, it had been two weeks over two weeks since she had seen her, So that day, Cindy insistently starts calling Casey wanting Kaylee. Tony was still in New York, and now since he's still in New York, Casey has nowhere to stay because she can't go stay at Tony's when he's not there, So she shows back up at Jesse grunt apartment, the ex fiance slash fake baby daddy of Kaylee, and she takes a shower there, and then at five pm she's back at jce Penny's with her friend Amy. Cindy calls Casey multiple times again, but she just can't get Casey to answer the phone. That evening, Casey then went to the Alehouse. It's a restaurant and bar, so Cindy again texts Casey wanting to know about Kaylee, and that's when she tells her, Oh, she's at the park with Jennifer Rosa.
48:35 Again that's Zanny's sister or roommate. The next day, July second, there are multiple attempts to call Casey's cell phone from the Anthony household. Nobody answers. Amy the friend asks about Kaylee and Casey says, oh, she's with Zanny. Meanwhile, Casey goes shopping again. She goes to the Ross to go buy some shoes. She also made a tattoo appointment, and then she goes to two clubs that night. She goes to the Voyage and the Mako, and then that night, after they go clubbing, she stays with Amy and her roommate Ricardo. The next day, July the third, Cindy Anthony has had enough. She's wanting to see Kaylee and Casey is now claiming that she's at Universal at a character breakfast. So Cindy gets in her car and she drives there herself shows up at Universal and when she gets there, she calls Casey and she says, guess what, Casey, I'm here. I want to see Kaylee.
49:50 I want to have breakfast with her. Tell them to come meet me. And that's when Casey says, oh, actually plans have changed. Now Now in Jacksonville, Jacksonville, I'm with Jeff Hawkins. Remember the guy that I was with for business at the hard Rock, Well, he's from Jacksonville, and so we're hanging out there with him a little bit. So Cindy gets pissed and she leaves and she goes back home. And when Cindy gets home, she creates a MySpace page and she calls it Mike, Caylee is missing and she writes a paragraph or two about how much she's missing her granddaughter and that she hasn't seen her in so long it's literally hurting her heart. But I mean, she's the grandmother, she's not the mother, but she misses this baby terribly. So meanwhile, Casey gets a tattoo and she tells the tattoo guy.
50:45 That her daughter is with the nanny. And about that time, she texts also Grinned, the ex boyfriend slash ex fiance and tells him, do not talk to my family if they contact you, because they're crazy and they won't leave me alone and I'm just trying to get away from them no matter what. She goes shopping with a new friend her name's Melissa England at the mall while someone again starts calling her phone from the Anthony home. Cindy that night calls Casey's brother Lee and says, Lee, listen, I need you to find Casey. It's not a joke anymore. There's something wrong here. I need you to find her. So Lee gets on social media and is able to track down where he thinks Casey's going to be that night, which would be a nightclub, and so Lee gets his fiance at the time, Mallory.
51:37 They pack up going into a car and they go downtown looking for Casey and they can't find her. But as luck would have it, Lee had sent a message to a friend Amy, and this is again Casey Anthony's friend who had alerted Casey, Hey, your brother's looking for you. You might want to go find him. And whenever Casey realizes this, she immediately leaves downtown Orlando so her brother can't find her. On July the fourth, jesse Grund again asks where's Kaylee. We hadn't seen her in a while, and she tells jesse Grund that Kaylee's at Sea World with the nanny having a good time.
52:21 What's really going on then is that there's a guy named will Waters who Casey met, and she was at his house planning a Fourth of July party with him. That night, they went downtown to Orlando where they had the annual Fourth of July fireworks display. She partied, she had a great time, She took pictures with Will Waters. Everything was just so much fun for Casey. Saturday, the July fifth is when Tony came home from his trip to New York. Before he got home on ikea closed surface close circuit television, you can see Casey is still with will Waters and she's all excited and giddy, and he says that she's excited because her boyfriend's coming home from New York and that night, when he gets home, they go all together to Buffalo Wild Wings and eat some chicken. She tells her mother because her mother's calling, saying, where are y'all? Where is Kaylee? This is ridiculous. I'm serious, I want to see her. She tells her mother that her car broke down in Jacksonville and that this guy, Jeff Hopkins is helping her to get it fixed, but they're gonna have to stay there until about July twelfth. Meanwhile, Kaylee is fine. She tells her mom that Kaylee is gonna be with Jeff Hopkins' mom and his son, Zachary.
53:46 She's taking care of them. She's a good woman, don't worry. So days have gone by, no one has seen Kaylee, but Casey is seen around Orlando, shopping at various places and living her best life. On Friday, July eleventh. Y'all, it's been twenty six days since Cindy has seen Kaylee and it's not for lack of trying, asking, calling, showing up places, and she is still trying to find Kaylee. Casey's not answering the phone, but that night, Casey is back at the Fusion night Club. On July the twelfth, Casey sends Cindy a message and says, we're still in Jacksonville, but we're coming. The reality is, if you look at the wind Dixie, the local wind Dixie in Orlando, you can see her there at nine twenty shopping for groceries.
54:42 She being Casey. So on July the thirteenth, Casey tells her mom that she's staying longer in Jacksonville because it turns out Jeff Hopkins' mom is getting married and they're gonna go to the wedding. It's gonna be a lot of fun, so they're gonna stay for the wedding. On Tuesday, July fifteenth, Cindy and George Anthony decide that they're gonna go do some yard work. While they're doing yard work, George Anthony gets a note on the door because you've got to go to the post office to get this official letter. So he goes to the post office and there he finds that he's been given a notice from a tow company saying you got to come get your car bring cash.
55:27 Only that's because Casey's car, remember, was registered to them, not to Casey, and that's why they got the notice. So both Cindy and George show up to go get the car. Cindy deals with the people you know, behind the counter in the office, while George goes with a man named Simon Birch to go actually get the car, and George, while they're driving back on the lot to go find the car, kind of confides in Simon about, man, we're really struggling to get along with Casey. We haven't seen our granddaughter. Our daughter's been acting an ass and we're just kind of over it. But as they approach the car, it is an overwhelming stench coming from this car, and it smelled so bad that George, an experienced police officer, was scared that I hope my granddaughter and my daughter aren't in the trunk because we haven't seen him. Now that Simon Birch, he had been in the tow industry a really really long time and he also smelled the smell and he was kind of taken aback by you know by it too, because he knew it the smell of death in a car smelled like specifically because he had a car that sat on his lot where someone had committed suicide in it, and it sat for days, and he felt like.
56:43 The smell smelled the same as the suicide guy. So worried about what was in the trunk, George Anthony says, like a little silent prayer, Oh my God, please don't let there have anything in this car. When they pop up in the trunk, that's whenever they find a trash bag in the trunk, and I guess kind of relieved that that may explain it. I'm and Birch grabs it, throws it over a fence, and George drives the home, the car home, even though it smells all to be damned. And when they get home, Cindy walks up to the car because she was in a different car, and she goes, Jesus, what died direct quote. Clearly the car had not been in Jacksonville like Casey was telling them, and her parents were pissed at the pathological line that had gone on.
57:25 They knew she was lying because it had been in the tow yard since June the thirtieth, She had to have been lying, but George had to go to work. He had to go to work at three, so they parked the car to let it air out, and Cindy tekes Casey about four point thirty saying, come home, major problem, call us back now. Casey meanwhile was driving around in Amy's car, her friend, because Amy had been in Puerto Rico and she was using the car. So when Amy gets back that same day on her trip, she goes and she eventually drops Casey off at Tony's apartment. Meanwhile, Cindy's losing her ever loving mind trying to get in touch with Casey, but Casey won't answer the phone. So that's whenever you know. Cindy goes to the car and she starts going through the car that is now smelling to you know, high Heaven, and she finds clothes and shoes, but she also finds a bag that she thought Casey used for work, and so she starts digging in that bag and lo and behold, and she didn't find a phone number for the friend, Amy hazinga. Amy at this point was now at the mall and she was shopping.
58:40 She had never met Cindy Anthony before didn't know her from Adam, but she answered the call when Cindy called, and Cindy is desperately going, I haven't seen Casey. I'm beyond worried about my granddaughter. I'm and Cindy was not taking no for an answer today. The line was drawn in the sand, and she says where are they? Have? Have you seen them? And Amy says, I know exactly where Casey is. Casey's at her boyfriend's, but I haven't seen Kaylee any of this time. I haven't seen Kaylee. Because of the just immense amount of stress that they hear and feel in Cindy's voice, Amy agrees to allow Cindy, a complete stranger to her, to drive to the mall, pick her up, and ride with her to Tony Lazarro's apartment.
59:26 Amy then goes up and knocks on the door. Cindy is behind her, and when the door opens, Cindy snatches that not into Casey and says, you're coming with me, and you're coming now. I'm not asking you. I don't care how old you are. You're not getting your clothes, you're not grabbing your wallet. You're coming with me and I can't tell you. I applaud Cindy Anthony to the stars and back. I don't give a damn how old you are, little girl. Get your ass in this car and get it now. Where is my granddaughter? So she goes and she dre Amy back off and Cindy Anthony is not playing. Where is Kaylee? I want he now? And Casey tries up the Zanny story.
1:00:08 Again and Cindy is like, not no, but fucking hell no, I'm not listening to that bullshit. And so she is infuriated at. This point with her daughter, and she says, you know what, I'm gonna call the police. You've been stealing from me, which they found out. The car smells like shit, it's been impounded. You've been lying, and you know what, I'm too damn old for this, and I'm not gonna deal with it. I'm tired of chasing you around. I'm tired of dealing with all your drama. It's one thing after another. She was so emotionally exhausted that she makes a phone call and she says, this is probably the hardest thing I can ever do, because I'm trying to give you a good life, but you're acting like an idiot, you're lying.
1:00:52 So that's whenever she decides that she's gonna call nine to one one on her own daughter. Now, I'm gonna set up this call for you real quick, because when she calls, she actually calls the wrong jurisdiction, and so she has to be transferred to the right jurisdiction. And as it's transferred in the recording, and I'm gonna play the whole thing for you. I want you or the whole section I'm talking about. I want you to listen because it's still recording, and you can hear Cindy Anthony fussing at Casey about failing to do what she is supposed to do in terms of returning the money she had stolen, how she screwed up with the car, and she says, I want to see Kaylee, this is not normal.
1:01:34 Go ahead and give it a listen. So my next thing will be down to the crowd saying and we'll have a court order to get her. That's what do you want to say? We'll do it and you'll never Well, no, I'm not giving you another day. I've given you a month, all right. That call, y'all was made on the side of the road, and she didn't want to pull over and wait for the cops to show up because of the jurisdiction she was in, so she decided she was just going to. Drive home and call the police from home. So when she gets home, her son Lee was already there, and because she had already alerted George that we were having a problem, get Lee to the house.
1:02:18 I need help. So Lee was there. She's explaining to Lee the frustrations, and that's when Casey kind of runs past and pissed off that she's been taken from her boyfriend's house, and she runs into the house. So they all go inside and Cindy is again pressing I want Kaylee and I want her now. So as the conversations go inside, it becomes extremely more animated, and Casey is insisting that Kaylee is with the nanny. And that she's going to spend the night with her. Cindy is so aggravated that, you know, it's time for her to come home. She doesn't need to be staying with a nanny. We love her, we are her family. She should not be spending so much time with this stranger.
1:02:59 And Casey starts pushing back, saying no, Kaylee's asleep by now, and I don't want to disturb her. I don't want to mess up her schedule. And Kaylee, you know, Casey's mom said. Cindy says, I don't care if I disturb her schedule. I don't care if it takes forever. I will drive where she is now and I'm going to get her. It doesn't go anywhere, and finally the frustrations mount and Cindy places a second nine one one call from the home. Now, the reality was that they hadn't been able to get in touch with Casey like wholeheartedly for about a month, and she had been unwilling to bring little Kaylee home, and this was just too much for Cindy to handle. So she calls and she explains, my daughter has been missing, my granddaughter is missing, and I want a deputy at the house.
1:03:50 They hang up, the deputy is on the way. As she waited, she's pacing back and forth looking out the window for the cops, And as time passes, she's getting angrier and angrier, and she's kind of pacing past back and forth by Casey's room and she can hear Lee pleading with Casey and Lee's like, just take mom to Kaylee? Why are you stalling? At one point, Lee says, Okay, let's pretend I'm the police, and he kind of role plays with her and he says, what's gonna happen is the police are gonna show up and you're gonna have to tell mom anyway where Kaylee is. So no matter what you do, Mom's gonna win. Why don't you just tell her where Kaylee is? And that's when Cindy Anthony here's Casey tell her brother, Well, the reality is, I don't know where Kaylee is. The babysitter kidnapped her. I haven't seen her in thirty one days.
1:04:43 Shocked by what she hears, Cindy busts through the door and has an all out meltdown. How could you know this and not tell us? How could you know that my granddaughter is missing and not tell me? My god, where is she? How could she be gone? Lee also starts digging in, what do you mean? What do you mean thirty one days has gone by? Cindy at this point has to believe what Casey's telling her because she's just in an all out panic, and so she dials nine when one breathlessly and hysterical, and she she's just beyond you know, consolation. And at one point she even slams her her hands down on the on the bed and she's cussing Casey out, saying Mike, Kaylee is kidnapped, and that's what she dials nine one one for the third time. I want you to listen to this call.
1:05:35 Listen to the panic in the grandmother's voice. I called a little bit of the dey Shi saying I found out my grandfather has been taking she has been listened for. I'm not. She's been missed. Okay, now, okay, what is the address that you're calling from? Spring? Driveling about girl? Seven ways ah s p o O I m G SLAWA lando Oh. My daughter finally admitted that the baby turns fare. I need to find her. Your daughter admitted that your the baby is later but. It you tender took her a month together that my daughter's been looking for. I told you my daughter was missing for a month. I just found her together that I can't find my granddaughter. She just admitted to me that she's been trying to find her herself. There's something wrong.
1:06:28 I found my daughter's car today and it's not like been a dead daughter and it's thrown car. Okay, what is the three year old's name? Kaylee c A Y L E E Anthony Kayley Anthony? Yes, okay, she white black? Her Hispanics, he's white. How long has she been missing for? I had not seen her since the seventh of June? What is her date of birth? Eight eight nine, two thousand? Oh god, she's free two thousand and five. So true. Listen during percent took her a month ago?
1:07:18 She was. Okay, I just can I need I understand? Can you just can you calm down for me for this minute? And if I need to know what's going on? Okay, I'm gonna chin that room? Is your Is your daughter there? Wind up? Fun with them? Is your daughter there? Yeah? Can I speak with her? Do you want if I secre with her? Thank you? I called them two hours ago. They haven't gotten here. Can kay Finally and there is a very month ago, ma'am, ma'am. They want to talk to you.
1:07:58 Question Hello, Hello, yes, hi? What can you can you tell me what's going on a little bit? I'm sorry, can you tell me a little what's going on? And my daughter's been received for the last thirty one days. Yeah, and you know who has her? I know who after I've tried to contact her. I actually received a phone call today now from a number that it's no longer in service. I didn't get to speak to my daughter for atoms about a minute. Okay, did you guys call and report a vehicle stole on? And yes, my mom did. Okay, Okay, so there's been a vehicle stolen too, No, this was my vehicle. What vehicle was sting?
1:08:42 It's you I need Pontiac sunfire. Okay. I have deputies on the way to you right now for that. But now you're now you're three old, Your three oldaughter is missing? Kaylee Anthony. Yeah, white female, yes, white female, three years old, eight nine five a day to birth. Yeah, and you I saw her a month. Ago, thirty one days from thirty one days? Who has her? Give a name? Her name is Vanaiva Fernando is Don Dallas. Who is that babysitter? She's been my nanny for about a year and a half, almost two years.
1:09:23 Why why are you calling now? Why didn't you call it thirty one days ago? I've been looking for her and have gone through other resources to try to find her, which was stupid. Okay, can you can you give me the name of the nanny again? Like spell it out for me. V E n A I E A. Last day Fernandez, Fernandez hyphen Benzalas. Okay, the think's officers are here, the officer of there, Yes, okay, hold on a second, I'll hang up with me. And so you hear the fear in her voice. The officers arrive, they start taking down the information. And what one good thing was that in that tape whenever you listen to that nine to one one call, Casey says that she spoke to her daughter sometime that day, and so that's kind of a relief to everybody. But they're like, okay, so where is she now? And you heard you heard Cindy say it smells like there's been a dead damn body in the car. So Corporal Fletcher was his name, shows up after that second call to nine one one, but he's now not aware of the escalation that's taken place between the second and the third call. So when he gets there, he realizes what's going on, gets the address to these Sawgrass apartments where Zeneida supposedly lives, and at this point, people are wanting to see real places and real people, and so they're like, we've got to We've got to make some contacts. So Casey willingly leads
1:10:57 the investigators to the apartment where Zenaida, but when they got there, they found it vacant. When they check with management, they said management says, no, there's no way that she could have dropped her kid here thirty one days ago, because this apartment's been vacant since February. That didn't happen, or you have the wrong apartment, and so police are kind of like, Okay, maybe Cindy Anthony's right. There is something way worse wrong here than what we're dealing with. So they returned back to the house. And when they show back up at Cindy Anthony's house. Without her granddaughter, she loses it. She's telling them, arrest her, arrest my daughter, do something.
1:11:39 So in the meantime, deputies send an officer to Tony Lazarro's apartment the boyfriend to retrieve the cell phone that Casey says she left there because that's where all the contact info for Zanny is. And so they go get that phone and that's when Casey writes a four page statement, which I'll post on Patreon for you. But according to Casey, the last time that she saw Kaylee was when she dropped her off with the nanny. Now here's Casey giving the audio recorded statement about what she says happened. And I want you to listen not only to how calm she is, but you know how a matter of fact that she is, but how overly detailed she is, with no problems, just a fluent liar. And to me, it's just incredible that people like this are real. The police already know it's a lie.
1:12:29 But listen. My sixteen two thousand and eight time right now is zero four eleven hours. I'm Detective Melosit with the orange Chan of Sheriff's Office, present here at four nine three seven Hope Spring Drive. It referens orange Kin in case number zero eight. That's zero six nine two o eight. I am with Casey Anthony as I crack yes, and Casey, do you please state your birthday for me? Zero three nineteen, nineteen eighty six. Okay, case you understand this is being recorded. Yes, you have any objection to that? Okase? I got called here and my sergeant Reggie Hosey. But the Oren's gonna Shaff's office in reference to a missing child. We've sat here and talked for a short moment, and before we went on tape, because I wanted to make sure that your sworn statement, which I'm looking at, was accurate. I'm looking at four pages of a sworn statement. On the bottom, it appears to be your signature. Is that correct?
1:13:19 Yes? Okay? And you're saying that everything contained in these statements are true and accurate. Yes. Also, before I turned on the recorder, I gave you a chance because I wanted to explain what happens if if you make a false reporter, if there's something about this incident that you're not telling us the truth of, And I wanted to make sure I made it perfectly clear that you know, if you want to go ahead and rescind this statement, and if you want to tell me a different story about what happened, if you're basically if you're trying to fabricate a story to kind of make something look a little bit better, now is your time to tell me. Are you telling me that this is the story you want to stick with? That's the truth, It's the story, okay?
1:13:59 In your own war let's go let's go back. Your daughter's name is Kaylee C A Y l E E Marie Anthony. She was born August ninth. Two thousand and five. Okay, And according to your statement back on August ninth, I'm sorry, Back on June ninth, two thousand and eight, you took Casey to our babysitter's house. Yes, And who was this babysitter? Her name is Zanaida Fernandez Gonzales. Do you know have spell of the first name. Z E N A I D A. And where was zanaidas? Where did you drop the. Utnovo the Sawgrass Apartments on Conway in Michigan?
1:14:40 Do you remember the address? I don't remember the address. Do you remember an apartment Member two? Okay, on the second floor. If you were to pull into the Sawgrass apartments, would the building be the one closest to the road for this back halfway? As soon as you go straight, you go over one speed bump and it's the first one on the right hand side. Okay. Is there a pool next? W Is there anything about the farment that stands out there's. A welcome sign. I guess there's a little shed close to the building, maybe about ten years away. How long had you known Zanaida? Almost four years? It will be four years Christmas this year. And where did you meet her? Who? Did you meet her? Through? Mutual friend? His name is Jeffrey Michael Hopkins.
1:15:24 I met him at Nickelodeon Universal and I met her through him. She was his son's nanny at the time. Does Jeffery still work at the Universal? No, he does not. How long has it been since he left? About nine ten months? Ever, take they moved back to Jacksonville. He moved up to North Carolina for a short time and moved down to Jacksonville within the last three months. When was the last time we spoke with him? About a week and a half ago. Okay, do you know a telephone number? Four? I can find a number for him. I don't know a number off hand, now I do not?
1:16:05 You mentioned something before? We want on tap about your cell phones? Yes, I have two phones. I just received a new phone through work through Universal. The phone won't keep charge, so I use my old phone that I actually had gotten again through Universal for work. Okay, did you lose a phone? Yes? Was it your personal phone? It was my personal phone, but I also use it for business. Okay, what's your what's the number for the phone that you lost? Four zero seven six one nine nine two eighty six. It's the same number. Yes, it's still the same number. I just lost the phone. And in that phone, you're saying, what's the SIM card? And the sim card had the contract?
1:16:45 Actually the SIM card is in my Nokia phone. But I know there's numbers saved to the cell phone itself. So if we get the actual phone, I know I have one other number four Zanaia and probably a number for Jeff besides work number. And but they're not in your sim card. They're not saved on the SIM card. They're saved on the phone. I've been trying to figure out on that new phone how to save numbers from the phone to the SIM card and switch them back and forth so that way I have everything all in one piece. Okay, So the phone where you have the number saved was lost. Yes, I filed an instant of report. But how did you end up keeping the SIM card? I had taken it out. I know I left the phone on my desk at work after I'd switched the SIM card back to my old phone, because this was the phone that actually would keep charge I want to be able to have a working phone instead of having a phone that would only stay charged for about a half hour and then it would die and I can't make any more calls.
1:17:41 Since for me, after you switch the simard was on the phone, I left it. I know, I left it on my desk and I hadn't been at work for at least three. Or four days the report to Universal. Yes with security days ago, nine days ago. Yes, Okay, So you met as an Ia through Jeffrey Hopkins. I did, and his son, Zach Hopkins, I guess, and I used to watch over Zach. Yes, So you've known Zanya for about four years, almost four years or before you had your child. Well, I met her just before I was actually pregnant at the time. So and when did she start watching over your child. It's been within the last year and a half, two years that she started watching Kaylee. I had another friend watch Kaylee that I've known since middle school.
1:18:30 When she went back to school, I was looking for a new nanny. Jeff offered to have Zanaia to watch both kids. She agreed, and the kind. Of went from there. Before Zania started watching over your child, who was an her. Name was Lauren Gibbs Gibbs And. When did Lauren stop watching for your child? Maybe April of two thousand and six, okay. And right in April two thousand and six, roughly as ones that I started watching over. How would you normally drop off or how would you normally do? The exchange with the challenge that I would you off? Which you meet you somewhere?
1:19:14 I would usually drop her off for a few months, we would go over to Jeff's house. He lived over in Avalon Park. That was a couple of years ago, almost a couple of years ago, And. You would go to Jeff's house wine. To drop off Kayley. That's Whereazania would go to watch both of the kids. Okay. It was in a nice centralized area. He had a decent sized house. It was a good room for the two of them. Then I started bringing Kaylee over to Zanaia's apartment. How long were you using or were you going to Zana's apartment? How when did you start taking Kailey? I guess maybe the end of two thousand and six, beginning of two thousand and.
1:19:55 Seven, So since the end of two thousand and six, beginning of o seven, you started taking Tailey to Zanaida's house on Sawgrass. She had an apartment on. I guess it's considered Glenwood, but it's off of Bumby and Robinson, close to downtown. She lived there for quite a. Few months and moved over to Sawgrass just recently this year. The the house on Bumby. Do you remember the address? Remember where it's at? I know it's off of Glenwood. I don't remember the apartment number off hand? No, I do not. And how long would you say you dropped the child off there? From the beginning of end of six, beginning of out seven to.
1:20:47 Hebe got six seven months, so maybe the middle of two thousand and seven. So she moved in the Sawgrass with the middle of those. Seven She's been at that apartment in Sawgrass for about the last three or four months. She lived with her mom for a little bit. Where's her mom lived? She lived off of Michigan. Do you know where the house is? It's not a very well marked neighborhood. The cross was just over a comrade's one of the big stretches of neighborhoods. Had you dropped the child off there before? Yes? If you had to find the place, would you be able to find it. Most likely, Yes, I think I'd remember the house. Okay, So she was living off of Glenwood, then moved into her mom's house and where off of Michigan, and then moved in Songster four months ago off of Glenwood until mid o seven in mom's house.
1:21:38 Her mom was living there at the time. Her mom had gotten another place with her sister, but she was staying over at the house and moved in with the two girls that are referenced in the pages. She was living with these two girls at saws. Yes, okay, about to you're staying you dropped off your dropped off Kayley June ninth, and walk me through your dropper after going to work. Okay, get off of work and go from there. I got off of work, left Universal, driving back to pick up Kaylee like a normal day, and I show up to the apartment, knock on the door, Nobody answers.
1:22:21 So I calls any of the cell phone and it's out of service. It says that the phone is no longer in service. Excuse me. So I sit down on the steps and wait for a little bit to see if maybe it was just a fluke, if something. Happened, and. Time passed, I didn't hear from anyone. No one showed up to the house, so I went over to J. Blanchard Park and checked a couple other places where maybe possibly they would have gone. A couple stores, just regular places that I know. Is the night of the shop's at and she's taken Kaylee before. And after about.
1:23:02 Seven o'clock, when I still hadn't heard anything, I was getting pretty upset, pretty frantic, and I went to a neutral place. I didn't really want to come home. I wasn't sure what i'd say about not knowing where Kaylee was, still hoping that I would get a call or you know, find out that Kaylee was coming back so that. I could go get her. And I ended up going to my boyfriend Anthony's house, who lives in Sutton Place. Did you talk to Anthony about what happened to Kelly and anything I ever seen Kaylee before? Yes, and he talked to anyone about Kaylee, about aarons with Kayley or.
1:23:48 A couple people, a couple of mutual friends who did at I talked to jeff Jeffrey Hopkins. I also attempted to contact Zanaila's mother and never received. A callback from her. He knows Zania's mother's name. Wow, man, I think it's Gloria. Do you know a telephone's mom? I do not know. Do you have any of these numbers program into your sim car that you kept them to your other phone? No? I do not. How long did you have this old phone? I've had the Nokia for almost a full year.
1:24:30 Okay, So after a full year of dealing with Janaida and having a babyshit, and you don't numbers back and forth? Sanaila's numbers changed a couple different times she switched services between having Sprint and having eighteen tiers singular. What about Jeffrey You've known him for at least four years. His numbers changed a couple different times from when he moved from Orleando up to North Carolina and back down to Jacksonville. I know I do have a current number for him. How would you get that number? If we can? I'm not on her phone, or I might have it online. I may be able to access it off the internet. Okay, who else did you talk to about this? Beside Jeffrey said he tried to call him and not his mom. You talked to Jeffery.
1:25:10 Who else did you talk about I talked to Juliette Lewis. She's one of my coworkers at Universal. She works you still work at Universal? Yes? What the what do you do at Universal? An event coordinator? Okay? What is Juliet What positions she? She's also an event coordinator? Who work in the same department? Do you have a number for Juliet. Off hand? I can't think of she and your card. No, she's not. Some of them were recent numbers. Her number just changed because she just moved back up north. She within the last two months has finished moving up to New York. She's losing her apartment.
1:25:52 So Juliette doesn't work at the Universal. No, she does not. When didn't she leave Universal about two months ago? Who else did you talk to about it? It's been within that small group. I've tried to find out just information from people going out to different places like Fusion, Ultra Lounge, and a couple of bars that I knows, and I had gone to downtown before to Steve, just kind of random talk. If anybody had heard about my nanny or talk to her lately? Did you tell me when specifically? Is that I'd took your child. Now, the only two people that I specifically told were Jeff and Juliette.
1:26:36 And you don't have a number for Juliette, not off hand now I do not. It's not on your phone. It might be online. It's definitely online. I know it's on one of our old worksheets her old number, which could still be active. I'm not sure if it is, but I know she does have a new number, which I just programmed into that. When was the last time you talked to juliet. Three weeks ago, shortly after this happened, so you. Talked her after she left? What's the reason, though I asked you this before, and I ask you to for the record, what's the reason you didn't call the police before?
1:27:18 Since right now we're here because your grandparents or your parents asked you about the child and they were concerned, didn't get an answer for the child, or was they called the sheriff's office? Why didn't you call prior to today? I think part of me was naive enough to think that I could handle this myself, which obviously I couldn't, and I was scared that something would happen to her if I did notify the authorities or at the media involved, or my parents, which I know would have done the same thing. The fear of the unknown, fear of the potential of Kiley getting hurt, of not seeing my daughter again.
1:28:00 Actually just at the onset nasher before we went on tape and the last week again, just to make sure we're clear. Is there anything about this story that you're telling me it is untrue? Or is there anything that you want to change or divert from what you've already told me? Sir? Did you cause any andrew to your child Kaylee? Sir? Did you hurt Kale or leave her somewhere? And you're worried that if we find that out that people don't look at you the wrong way. No, sir, And you're telling me that Zanaida took your child without your permission as. At the last person that I've seen with my daughter. Yes, where did Zanaida? Does she have another job besides watching children? She has a seasonal idea for Universal. However, the only job that I know that she's had for the last few years, she's been a fanny.
1:28:46 So seasonal employee at Universal. When was the last time she worked at Universal? Do I have no idea does Kelly take any medications she had suffered from any conditions and the mental conditions that we need to know all. I was brought up before about taking some money from some people, and I want to make sure I get it on the tape. Do you have any problems with drugs or narcotics, either prescripted vecrodicts or drugs coocaine, ecstasy and math, anything like that. Have you ever been have you ever been, ever been committed for thoughts of suicide?
1:29:28 Have you ever been on lakeside anything like that? Is there any underlying cause to wise? And I would have taken your drone? No, nothing that should make any statements to you about only. How much she loves Kaylee and how great of a kid she is. And have you talked and when you talk to Jeffrey afterwards? I'm assuming that Jeffrey's child is still with him. His child is still with him, Okay, he said. To Nina had family up in New England and New York. Yes, she has family down south, her mother and her sister. Her brother's in New York. She's originally from New York. And where's down south Miami area? Where she originally from New York she born and raised in New York, she had family outside of the country or I don't know.
1:30:17 As far as I know, she pretty much grew up there, moved down here, went to University of Florida. She Puerto Rican, she Dominican? Is she white? She's mixed. She's black and Puerto Rican. You don't know what her birthday is or don't want what her birthday. Is since September. That's well, I can remember. At the moment if when we finished this, if you would you be willing to draw with me to show me where her mom lives in the apartment that you used to drop her off at. Okay, is there anything I haven't asked you about? Kaye Ers and I are just a sincident in particular that you feel is important that you wanted to tell me about before I turn this off.
1:31:00 I mean, Kaylee has very distinctive features, even if her hair was cut or change. She's dark, hazel eyes, they're brown and green. She has a birthmark on her left shoulder. What kind of birthmark? It's just like a small line. It almost looks like a small little beauty mark. Really, I just want my daughter back. So Officers felt like now listening to that that this has gotten too big. We've got to get a detective in here. So another detective shows up, Rachel Posey. She takes Casey out. They go walking down the street to separate away from the parents, and she's like, listen, tell me now, is this a domestic problem? Are you afraid for Kaylee to be around your parents? And you just don't want to say that, and Casey says, nope, it's all good, everything's fine, there's no problem. So they say, okay, well, let's go to Universal Studios and go where you work and we'll go confirm, you know, some other things up there.
1:32:06 So they show up at Universal and they speak to a person named Leonard t. Tura. I believe is how you say that? And they're starting to ask about her employment there, and he's like, ho ho, hold up, hold on, hold up. She doesn't work here. She hasn't worked here in years. So the detectives are like, what y'all she not only lied about her first job, she lied about her second job. Casey Anthony was completely unemployed this whole time. She never for all these years she's been getting up and going to work, was going to work. Understand that she got up, got dressed, and never went to work. So the detectives go back to the house and they call Casey out on all of this, but Casey sticks with her story.
1:32:49 She's very confident that they are wrong. You must have spoken to someone wrong. They're like, well, then come back with us, Come come take us to your office. Come show us what you do. She says, no problem. She gets in the car. When they get to the gate, the security gate security won't let her through because she doesn't have her ID, which she conveniently left at home. Casey. They finally police finally convince them and they let them through. Casey walks with purpose, walks straight to an admin building, goes down some halls, and then she finally gets to the end of the hall and when she stops at the end of the hall, she turns around, puts her hands in her back pockets. She kind of smiles at the officers and goes, Okay, fine, I don't work here. But made them go through all of that before she would admit that she didn't work there. So they take her into a conference room where she admits that she's been lying the whole time, but she will not waiver that Kaylee was actually kidnapped so by this woman, Zenaida.
1:33:42 They go give her pictures of the woman Zenaida. She says, oh, yeah, I see these Zenaida Gonzalez. But that's not the woman I know. So police are now done. They throw their hands up. Everyone's done with Casey. We've been on a wild goose chase. This isn't a missing dog, this isn't a missing purse. This is a child, your child, and you're playing fucking games with us. Can you imagine how upset the police would be as well that she's just playing games. So on July sixteenth, two thousand and eight, Casey's arrested for lying, child neglect, lying to investigators, and interfering in a criminal investigation. She was initially denied bail, but later on August twenty first, she was given a five hundred thousand dollars bail and required to wear a monitoring you know device aka and ankle bracelet. So the investigation is continuing during all of this, trying to find a Zenaida Gonzalez.
1:34:33 There's tips and. Photos of of you know coming in about supposedly seeing Kaylee and Zenaida. Multiple agencies are wasting resources on this and lo and behold, wouldn't you know nothing? They find no Zenaida. The police went to follow up on Anthony Hopkins, remember the guy that Casey spent time with with Kaylee supposedly, and they wanted to kind of try to firm up a timeline, so they went to talk to him. Now here's a quick Q and a segment with Anthony Hopkins. You're not going to believe this, Thank. You, Ronor Good morning sir, Good morning, mister Hopkins. How old are you? Twenty six? Do you know Casey Anthony?
1:35:14 I do. When did you first meet her? Probably middle school? Did you stay in touch from middle school up until two thousand and eight. Through passing? How did you characterize your relationship with miss Anthony more or less acquaintances? Weren't very good friends, not very good friends. Did you ever work at Universal Studios? I did? When did you work at Universal Studios? Approximately two thousand and two. How long did you work there? For? One year? Did you ever work there at the same time that Casey Anthony worked there?
1:35:56 I don't think so. You don't recall ever seeing her there? Never did you ever introduce Casey Anthony to a woman by the name of Zenaida Gonzales. I did not. Did you ever use Zania Gonzales as a nanny? No, sir. Do you have any children? No, sir. Have you lived in the Orlando area consistently since two thousand and two? Yes, sir. Have you ever lived in Jacksonville? No, sir. Have you ever lived in North Carolina? No, sir, y'all, he didn't even have children. The guy existed. He never lived in those places that Casey claimed to be. He isn't even friends with her. The lies are so complex it's scary. That means the wedding wasn't real. That means the kids aren't real. None of it is real.
1:36:46 So another thing that happened is just eight days after making bail, Casey was arrested again for writing checks out of her friend Amy Hazanga's checking account without her permission. Her parents did bail her out on this, and I don't hate on them for this, y'all. It's their daughter. They are just as much a victim as Kaylee is in this. They're doing the best they can. There was investigations, you know, continuing after this to try to figure out what's going on. On the night of July sixteenth, backing up. The Anthony's gave permission for Casey's car to be taken and processed. They also went and pulled the trash bags that were that was thrown over the fence. They were able to go retrieve that trash bags.
1:37:33 On July seventeenth. The Orange County Sheriff's Office even brought in a cadaver dog that did a sweep around the Anthony's home. And guess what the dog's name was, Garris. I know you want to know. Garris went around the car. He alerted not only to the trunk as having odor of human remains, but that same day Garris went and hit in the backyard on Kaylee's playout house as having had human remains there. The double checked themselves. A completely different agency came in with a completely new K nine and that dog too alerted to the remains or of remains being left at the Anthony home. The crime scene people dug it up. They couldn't find Kaylee. They did preserve hair samples and air samples Quantico Virginia. They found a hair sample in the trunk and the FBI and Quantico tested that and they found that that hair sample had a change in it that only happens after a body starts decomposing. And guess what that hair was identified as being Kaylee's. A leading expert in biochemistry of decomposing bodies, specifically the odor from the air sample that they took, immediately recognized the smell as one of decomp that was taken. And during analysis that was done of Kaylee's body, they found a concentration of chloroform that was the highest that the person doing
1:39:05 the analysis had seen in twenty years. It was the highest concentration of it. Yes, chloroform is a naturally occurring thing in the body when a body decomposes, but not at the levels that they found it. These same samples were tested in multiple crime labs and they confirmed the same thing that these concentrations of chloroform found in the decomp juices and all of that from the trunk of the car. It was too high of levels of chloroform to be natural. They also did. And in forensic investigation of the home computer at the Anthony House. And would you be surprised to know that on March seventeenth and some other dates that there were searches done specifically for chloroform how to make chloroform, neck breaking, shovel chloroform, and death inhalation. There was a search on drug library dot com making weapons out of household products and how to make chloroform. Fun fact, both George Anthony and Cindy Anthony are known to be working at those exact times that those searches were done on those computers, and it could not have been them. Thousands of people continued to search for Kaylee. Hundreds of hours of investigation were done trying to find Zanny. Zanny was never found throughout the entire investigation, and on October fourteenth of twenty eleven,
1:40:44 Casey Anthony was arrested and indicted by a grand jury on charges of first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and four counts of providing false information to police, and she was ordered held without bond. Casey would sit in jail for two months, and then on a rainy December eleventh, two thousand and eight, a utilities worker found a tiny human skull on suburban drive which was just in the sight of the elementary school where Kaylee would have been had she been alive. And guess what fun fact I'm I do another quickie episode for y'all later on. But I went there, I've been there, and I'll tell you more about it. The remains of Kaylee Anthony were found wrapped in a Winnie the Pooh blanket, then wrapped in trash bags and then put in a laundry basket that were tossed into that wooded area. All that remained now, though, were scattered bones and remnants of her clothes, as well as parts of the bag, and they searched for ten days to try to recover all of her. But the fact was that Kaylee spent months in that swamp, day and night, even alone during a hurricane, that tropical storm Faith that came in and dumped water all over her little body as she lay there. She was there so long that roots had grown through her skull, through the bags, through all of the leftovers that were there.
1:42:16 But duct tape was still sticking and it held the mouth to the top of the skull. There were three pieces recovered, and the jawbone was literally held to the head because that piece of tape was there, and it was also matted in the remnants of the hair that was remaining. They did a warrant execution and found the exact same brand and type of duct tape in the Anthony home. Fun fact, the same duct tape was also found on the gas cans that had. Been taken by Casey Anthony. Casey's Winnie the Pooh blanket was missing from the house, interesting because that's what she was wrapped in, and the laundry basket bag was also missing from the Anthony home.
1:43:06 Do you think that's a coincidence? Because I don't. I don't believe in coincidences. There was no trauma to the bones during the autopsy. But again, if she was shot and the bullet went through and through and didn't hit any bones, we wouldn't know that. The only evidence of her death were the three pieces of duct tape over her face and her nose. And the only person who had access to all of these pieces of evidence I've mentioned to you was Casey Anthony. And the only person who benefited from Kaylee's death was Casey Anthony. And the only person who had lied this entire time was Casey Anthony. On May twenty fourth of twenty eleven, the trial began and it lasted about six weeks, and incredibly, after everything that I have told you, in this really long episode, the jury would deliberate for about ten hours and would a quit Casey Anthony of all charges minus the four misdemeanors of lying to the authorities. I know, y'all, y'all, I know, I know how we all felt when we learned this the first time. If it's your first time hearing it, I know how we feel hearing it again all these years later. But this is where solace comes and I want to explain this. Acquitted does not mean innocent.
1:44:28 You are never found innocent in a court of law. In this case should be a ringing example of why not guilty does not mean innocent. Jose Biaz who was her defense attorney, did an amazing job. He did his job. One thing I didn't like, though, was the way that he tried to make George Anthony look like an idiot, and it really irritated me. This is what I think happened in this complete miscarriage of justice. I think that Casey chloroformed her daughter with a homemade concoction, and I think that Kaylee died as a result of it, combined with suffocation in one way or the other. My reasoning behind this will always be there is no reason to put duct tape over a dead child's mouth, nor is there ever a reason to put duct tape over a live child's mouth.
1:45:19 Period. Casey Anthony killed her child. I don't care what the courts say. Why was she acquitted? A lot of people have that question. This is my belief. The prosecution felt like they could prove murder beyond a reasonable doubt, but where they failed was that they couldn't prove how Kaylee Anthony died. They could not physically prove that she was chloroformed because so much time had gone by. If they would have gone after second degree murder, in my opinion, I think that they had an enormous amount of inferred evidence or of circumstantial evidence, and I think that she would have been convicted, and I think she would have spent the rest of her life in prison.
1:46:04 But legally, the jury needed to know what happened, and they couldn't make that jump. And that is why, regardless of what happened, I think that she was acquitted on this case. But I'm gonna tell you this, Being a mother is something that is the greatest gift of your life, and Casey Anthony didn't want it. She got a job she wasn't qualified for. A mother is selfless, and Casey Anthony was not. A mother loves unconditionally, and Casey Anthony did not. A mother gives up and sacrifices for the betterment of her children, and Casey Anthony was not willing to.
1:46:53 A real mom would storm the gates of hell with only a glass of ice water for protection against the devil. But Casey couldn't be bothered. All Casey Anthony did was kill lie and get away with it and have to pay a four thousand dollars fine after being given credit for time served, and she walked out the door. Today, Casey continues to play the victim a mother of a murdered child who interesting you know, interestingly, i'd like to add, has never gone out on the search for the real killer, interesting to me in all these years, as well as play the victim of someone who has put on trial but claims she didn't do it.
1:47:42 She's innocent. She acts like she's beautifully broken and that the haters are out there. Well, I'll tell you this. They say that people hate on you because they want something you have. Well, I'll be honest, you can count me into that. Group of people because it's true, Casey, you took your daughter's life, and all we the people want in return is yours.
